Charlton away next week though, after Tuesday we need to really dig in and forget about any cup ties until we get to them. League position isn't doing our performances justice but the best way to fix that is to go out and get into a position where it does! We were 10th Just before we conceded, and that would have looked a lot healthier These two games were always going to be a test. With Distractions and enforced team changes even more so. the_mighty_bosh Posted December 10, 2011 Share Posted December 10, 2011 It's interesting how things can be dressed up and spun positively or negatively and just how much meaning a position can have. Dickov and a few of the players interviewed recently have been talking up a promotion/playoff push and a lot of the talk coming into this match was that we were on a 6 game unbeaten run and had won our last 4 home games. No doubt that it's a very good stat but if you look at our League form since the start of October (last 10 games) our results go like this: LWLWDDLWDL If that isn't inconsistent I don't know what is! Not that inconsistency is a bad thing imo, I expected us to be fighting relegation this season so inconsistency is certainly a better alternative! This squad and staff that we currently have is very easy to like because they approach matches with the right attitude and the style of football produced has been decent for the majority of the time, but that doesn't we are underachieving and our form throughout the season backs this up. What we are is what we have been over the season so far: a 9th to 16th place mid-table team. As said above we may be at the lower end of that group at present but the gaps between us and the top half, the team just below us and the drop zone show a much more realistic picture of how we're doing than our position does.
