AndyGortonsMatches
Sad story for ex Latics man, utter thuggery. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2317581/Mansfield-defender-John-Thompson-retires-mental-scars-years-injured-Gary-Ricketts.html
Lee Sinnott
Didn't he have some bother with his nose when he played for us...
Magic Mikey
If Suaraz's bite was worth ten matches what does Ricketts brutality merit? He should be inside.

vendman
That Ricketts guy sounds like a nice fella, thinks he's got a few demon's as well.
Bristolatic
That would most likely warrant a bit of time at Her Majesty's pleasure if it had happened in the street. He should never be allowed to play football again. Best wishes to John Thompson; he didn't deserve that and I hope he makes a full recovery. rosa
3 players in hospital after ONE game? Ban him from the sport for life, simples And in a friendly. Clearly not right in the head. I felt sorry for John Thompson when he played for us, he had no luck with injuries, seemed to break his nose every time he played. That's just horrific though. Can't help thinking it's a sad indictment on modern football that he was left to pay for his own psychological help. Obviously i don't know the finer details of what happened but isn't the point of the PFA to help out with stuff like this? Or does it not matter when it's a Conference player who isn't making national headlines? Best of luck to the poor lad in the future, hope he gets himself sorted.
