lancy lad
Hi Mods / anyone else in a position to help My Mcafee contract expires in a few days and I have been with them for several years. Anyhow they have always been less than useless and I am wondering if anyone can offer advice where to go please? I am pretty rubbish with anything technical so please keep it very basic! Thanks in advance.
Zorrro
I've used COMODO Internet Security for donkey's and have never had any problems at all, even when perusing some very questionable sites. Best of all, it's free.

beag_teeets
I too have been using Comodo for donkeys, it is internet security not just anti-virus, pretty lightweight and if I recall has on-access scanning so that if something nasty tries to do something it alerts you. You do need to train it to start with, it has a database of most common programs and doesn't do anything when you launch them but if you have something a bit less well known it will ask you whether you want to mark it as safe. So, if you know you haven't tried to launch anything and an alert pops up you know something may be amiss. You can get it here - http://download.cnet.com/Comodo-Internet-Security/3000-2239_4-10460704.html?tag=mncol;2 To uninstall mcafee you may need this: http://download.cnet.com/1770-20_4-0.html?query=revo+uninstaller&platformSelect=Windows&tag=srch%3Ba&searchtype=downloads&filterName=platform%3DWindows&filter=platform%3DWindows
