  1. Love the new strip. But much more importantly . . . just remember lads- If the energy is, right we can do this! ️ Gooooooo Latics!
  2. I wonder if that tagline will be part of MM’s pre match team talk. Listen lads- New energy- kit game strong. What gaffer? Kit game strong- go get em boys.
  3. Im confused, so why would Latics ring you about him? Thought you meant we were looking at him?
  4. Id be surprised if Southend let him go? Especially if he’s highly rated and got two years to run.
  5. Also - that is no bad thing. Darren and the manager need to get far better bang for their buck than we previously have. A lot of money has gone down the drain on players who have hardly featured for a number of reasons. Leaner spending, better recruiting, smaller squad with everyone contributing. Sounds very sensible to me.
  6. I’ve no idea mate. From the noises the club make- my guess is they have overspent, not to ridiculous ‘we can’t sign anyone’ levels but relative significant levels. The squad size over the last two seasons tells you that. As does Luke saying at the forum that family are still putting in 6 figures a month to make up the shortfall between income and outgoings The manager told us when he came in, that he would need to respect what the family have already spent in terms of signings players in Jan, (he got 3 contracted) he then told us again at the end of the season that signing players this summer would be really difficult with 19 already contracted. So he’ll need to wheel and deal. Are we going bust- no. Are we reigning in spending - from what the club and the manager says- it looks like it.
  7. It’s not an idea or made up. The manager told us, unless he was publicly lying- and just trying to insult the family. . .
  8. Absolutely - not getting into any of this squad should be doing this or that- they need to prove it. It’s that simple.
  9. Careful BD. Running/grafting isn’t rated on here. If you dare mention it- you’re #anoldhamfanlovesarunnerlad. Good to see Mellon (with 5 promotions) actually agrees that it’s quite important- I’d also note that the original Runner - Paul Warne has gone to have 4 promotions as a manager. It’s almost like running and grafting is important, either that or 9 promotions is just technical players passing it to each other with pin point precision for 90 minutes, and thus negating any need for anybody to run.
  10. This is so true. So much goes into a player settling/playing his best football. I’ll just stick with what I see on the pitch, rather reputation good or bad.
  11. What do you want him to say? We’re not arsed about season ticket money? Of course he’ll say that, and with some credibility- he wants and needs as much income as possible. I never said it was an element of incomings. What I said was and I stick to is isn’t a massive element. If it was - why did LR go onto to say later. (Paraphrasing in response to a question about the families commitment to the club) We’re still really enjoying it, and we’ll currently putting 6 figures a month into the football club, we’ll continue to do that until we can it make self sustainable. Why do the family need to put 6 figures in A MONTH if season tickets are a massive element. Because current season tickets sales don’t come anywhere near covering costs. If we had 6/7 thousand season tickets sales I’d agree with you, but we don’t. We rely on season tickets, potd, gym, hospitality and the family are still making up a 6 figure shortfall every month.
