I hear you Guy- and as long as he’s winning it’s fine.
But you do have to caveat the football, because even Mellon is now saying it’s not going to pretty. So without the result, I understand why people say it’s really poor with the money spent.
I agree, it's not pretty to watch. But we haven't been pretty to watch for over 3 decades now, give or take patches in the odd season. At least we're actually consistently winning games for once

5 wins out of 7, 6th in the league, and people are whinging. Please lads, get a time machine back to 1989 because those days are long gone. We're in the 5th division, and this is what 5th division football looks like

An awful watch again….can’t see what difference Mr Mellon has made to this team….apart from a few more wins the football is still terrible!

Goals from crosses- what a nightmare.
I love this place

Scrappy win, just what you need at this stage of the season
5 league wins in 7
3 league home wins out of 4
Two strikers on the scoresheet
Good tactical changes and subs from the manager
Back in the top 7
Sure this place will be just as lively tonight as it has been the last fortnight

The refs at this level are absolutely infuriating

Much much much better

Can't see where a goal is coming from and that bench doesn't exactly fill you with hope.

This is dire.

Some of us did try to warn you this is what it would be like but you insisted you didn't care about performances...
Still don't. We'll make the playoffs comfortably. You lot can stay at home and cry over your pinch me years VHS's

Fondop as a lone striker is an absolutely terrifying proposition. As if we're not struggling enough for goals already!

The new players will gel, we'll go on another winning run and make the playoffs with ease, and this place will implode on itself

My word. I was starting to think that those of us that thought there was a player in there somewhere were deluding ourselves, but if Daryl Clarke rates him
Same, thought I was going mad. Never did himself justice here but in the games he did play well he looked a proper player. Not convinced he's League One standard mind you.

You look at his successful teams and a common theme is strikers capable of getting well into double figures - Vardy, James Collins, Norwood, Andy Cook.
You can no doubt the same about any manager but perhaps where he has struggled more is where he hasn't had that threat at his disposal.
Maybe it was his coaching that facilitated them getting into double figures?
Someone on here said he's the most negative manager we've ever had. That's some track record of goalscorers for a negative manager...

Yeah, the man with 5 promotions under his belt isn't tactically flexible
This place

We've not exactly got an aging squad have we. Who's over the age of 30? Norwood, Garner, Hogan, Gardner who barely plays. Think that's it. Nowt wrong with adding a bit of experience from someone who's been there and done it
-
Think this'll be a good signing, plenty of experience and aggression which we lack at times. Should hopefully be an improvement on Fondop
-
Barnet have signed Luke Freeman. Some signing for this level that
Points to Kanu probably moving on...

Same could be said of teams going to play at Chesterfield. Big ground, big club and ex league members.
Difference is their pumping teams at home very easily. And it's taken them 6 years to get to that point. In those 6 years they've been turned over by these teams dozens of times

I think some people really need to move on from the Royle years, they were 35 years ago. We played pretty, progressive football under Wellens and got relegated. We played some lovely football under Kewell and finished 17th.
I'm 33 and have seen us finish top 6 twice. Twice! I just want to see us achieve something, and I think Mellon is putting us in a good position to do that.

I completely agree with you and we have really improved these last 12 months.
I just want us to kick on to the next level. In order to be competing for the title, we need to be able to win against teams in the bottom 4.
Totally agree. I was frustrated as anyone yesterday, I can't understand this blind spot they have against teams lower down the table. But I'm also not reactionary and can see the improvements that have been made in the 3 months MM has been here. I really can't understand some of the OTT reactions I've seen, it beggars belief.

Not good enough. We MUST win every game and do it like a 60’s/70’s Brazil side
I can understand frustrations after yesterday, but by any metric this is our most successful season so far in about 16 years. With the hyperbole on here after any defeat you'd think we were on the brink of relegation

Before going to the game yesterday I said we would lose 1-0, so did many other fans I assume. Until that feeling has gone, I think it’s safe to say we are inconsistent.
As I said yesterday, no need to panic and I trust MM to sort!
Performances are inconsistent, that's for certain. Results wise though we're one of the most consistent teams in the league at the moment. I fully expect us to bounce back next Saturday

What is your overall position ? You seem to just think everything’s fine and everyone is over reacting ?
We are unbelievably inconsistent (consistently inconsistent). So how / why are you down playing everything?
Are we unbelievably inconsistent? Won 4 out of 5 in the league. 3rd in the form table since Mellon came in. I'd say that's pretty consistent?

It's been boring and turgid for the last 30 years whilst also losing more than we win, so at least it's a start in the opposite direction
Rome wasn't built in a day, especially if it had been caked in shit for the previous 3 decades
