Oh, it’s absolutely dire. No doubt about it. But it’s up to the board to change it, before dire becomes unthinkable. . which is already staring us in the face.

Just hope they have the courage of their convictions before the damage done by this man becomes irreparable

This mid table stuff is fantasy for me.

Even if they sack him after Sunday- any new manager still has to win at least 8 games from the remaining 24 to have any chance of staying up. With a side bereft of confidence, and unbelievably (given a squad of 156) still missing players in key positions.

All that matters now is 5th bottom.

Right now, I'd take staying in the division but really???

Was this the great dream we all craved, when we were lucky enough to get our club back in safe hands?

    You can't make it up!

Agreed, hopefully they won't leave it too late as they did last season when appointing Selim instead of placing a proper manager in charge.

I find it crazy we're all still debating this

Should have all been dealt with back in November, enough was enough then and it's even worse now.

Using this argument if they are all playing within themselves that applies to everyone, doesn't it? Not just the recent signings who you'd think would be pulling out their tripe to keep the manager in a job?

On this basis, When and not If...... he's fired off

They'll all get that chip off their collective shoulder and get us to atleast mid-table,

Going on a decent run after the event, will endorse this theory.

I'd love to know what's going through Franks's mind right now. He's obviously a shrewd bloke and he knows we are shit and he knows if we carry on at this rate we will be relegated. He can also see that the players are just not putting in the effort. I can't believe he will let this continue beyond the new year.

He's been blindsided like the rest of us, but for him, it's also emptying his bank account as well.

Yep the result against notts isn’t really the main thing. He does however need to start getting performances out. Any side can lose but they have to look competitive, run, tackle, create chances. None of which happen under DU. Can accept a loss next up but they should run notts close or if they set up defensively they can’t be letting more than 1 in a half

I couldn't care who we're playing against, what you've listed there are the basic requirements of being a so called professional

Forget showing too much respect to any other side in this pisspot of a league and go for it, be brave and go toe to toe,

That's what all our fan's should be seeing by now

Steve Thompson’s appointment showing value already!!😂😂

Seriously…if we’d kept him I’m convinced we wouldn’t have been relegated.

He’s a born leader……just having him in and around the dressing room should reap dividends.

He might be 40 but is as fit as a butcher’s dog and would be a massive inspiration especially to our younger players!!

    Age, what age?

This changes everything, because this fella won't be giving any of the other's the free ride they've been having.

I now see a win tomorrow and a move up the table in the coming weeks.

Chuffed and tops off the bottle soon

So after last night's results, we still find ourselves out of the dropzone despite teams around us having played two games more (except for Gateshead who we play at home for their game in hand).

It's only a stay of execution for a week or so

Games in hand mean zilch when there's no sign of any fight

As shit as it is to go through this again, get mentally prepared for another relegation battle as a club.

We are no longer a basket case off the pitch but we can't believe that we're too big to go down on the pitch.  No matter what infrastructure is being put in place (and it should continue to be) we need to prepare for the short term on the pitch.

Also get Abraham signed up for as long as possible for this season.  Not because of his (lack of) goal record or piece of skill he showed for the goal, but for the pace that we are so desperately lacking.

At this rate, we'll all need a shrink, Frank should get rid of his flat cap and buy a tin helmet
