That would be true of me. I left a few minutes early and I've done that three times since I first went in 1966. To be fair I had to stay to the end with my Dad in those early years.

It wasn't a criticism of anybody not attending, more of an observation the performance on Saturday was no different than the vast majority of home games this season, it would have been far more of a suprise if we had played well and steam rolled Kidderminster because we haven't done that once at BP this season and i include Aldershot because even that game we were clinging on at certain points.

That was the first time I have ever walked out before the end.

The most dreadful game I have ever seen.

Every ball was like a clearance then head tennis till we lost it.

Won't be going again till something drastic changes

That just tells me you don't go much, because Saturday was no different than most home performances this season.

Top 2 budget but we can't expect entertaining football, something has gone very wrong somewhere.

Winning more than we are losing which is a very rare feat at this club, how do you figure something has gone wrong? He's been in the job 2 minutes and the almost certain 1 nil defeats for the last 5 years have turned into narrow wins. It might not be prime Barcelona, in fact it's not even prime Tranmere Rovers but it's progress

  5. Great listen as always, the whole issue I have with Unsworth was addressed in 30 seconds on it.. "We don't have an identity" "Stick with a setup do it well and do it consistently"

Will even take poor results if I thought for one second they were trying to stick to a plan and it's work in progress. I just can't see it sadly.

Will also mention your comment on crowds. We are letting a fantastic opportunity slip through our fingers the crowds are the best since the early 90s but the casual fans will stop going with the dire football. At what point does that loss of revenue every game overtake the financial payoff for the manager?

    Another good listen.

I don't watch you, so am hardly in a place to assess where you are. But I can't help noticing that five of your six opponents so far are clubs I thought would be top half this season. Admittedly one of them is Southend, but still....

If it's any consolation, your fan base is not really all that different from any other, and these days the world is full of people who seem not to be able to control their emotions. There are some conspiracy theorists among my club's support who are actively trying to undermine the owner. When you consider what we had to do to get him, it beggars belief, but that is human nature for you.

Matt's point at the end was a good one. If you are this angry six games in, you leave yourself literally nowhere to go. It's just not a healthy way to think or behave.

It's not 6 games in of Unsworths management it's a calendar year almost, most comments on here are about how we have not progressed from last year despite the full backing of the club and a whole pre-season to work with the squad, if anything based on the first 6 games we have gone backwards.

In his defence, we actually were pretty unlucky today. How have Reid and Shelton missed in the first-half.

This has to be it for him, though.

Gate was down, atmosphere was flat. The feel-good factor needs a revival...

I get that but equally, they had a clear-cut penalty in the first half and our keeper made one or two decent saves, Unsworth comes out with this all the time never ever does he seem to take into account the amount of chances the opposition has as well.

  8. He's from Kuwait not Palestine. As a follower of rugby league he's made a fool out of Salford wanting this and that made enemies within the RFL

Dont understand why he has made a fool out of Salford? He's appointed great coaching staff, he is looking to recruit top players he has made a perfectly sensible name change decision and anyone that upsets the RFL is good for me the most incompetent bunch of tools that have run any sport in this country. I know a couple of Salford fans and he seems to be liked by the majority there. Dont know a lot about his wealth but if has got the money and the right ideas he sounds like a good fit.

  9. As many fans have latched onto, the problem as far as the FA are concerned in that the encroachment occurred during the game. Many refs would prefer not to include in their report but are duty bound to do so.

Mr Madeley our ref today understood the excitement of the occasion but as he says these things are spotted on TV and by other reports. If the ref did not act he would be in serious trouble.

Large sections of the young fans have been troublesome throughout the season and extra work and additional stewarding has been necessary. This comes at a cost.

Some posters on the site have referred to extra stewarding and policing. Believe me that is not a path we want to tread. Money spent in that area affects the playing side of the operation.

Yes I did say the Board would need to review the pricing policy for the younger fans and in particular the £10 ticket. We do not want to dissuade young fans from coming to games but we also have a responsibility to ensure that many other fans have a trouble free afternoon. THe whole area of young fan supervision and who they attend with together with the pricing policy needs to be looked at in the interests of the club and ALL fans.

    Barry

    PS

Sorry for late post. Just got up for a brew. Can't sleep with the excitment of staying up. lololololol

Can i put a suggestion forward then Barry keep the offer but as a family ticket therefore you have details of an adult who is responsible for the children in the ground it then doesn't punish the many kids in the chaddy and the main stand and the vast majority in the rocky road end who do behave and have enjoyed coming to the football

  10. Not during the game though.

Like a previous poster said, all of a sudden the £10 offer isn't seen as a gimmick but as an entitlement. I'm sorry, but if you think that £2 a game for watching league football isn't a good incentive then you are deluded

funny that because i started watching latics in the 80's and the reason i became hooked and i know a awful lot of others did was because they handed out free tickets for two seasons to all the local schools

  11. To be fair, I'm not always a massive fan of Barry and his sometimes, seemingly knee jerk rants, but I have no problems with anything he has said there.

I imagine the 'end of season' pitch invasion is expected and isn't really the main issue here - it's the fact that it's happened on Tuesday when there was no need, given that we could still have been relegated and today it happened while the game was still in progress.

It was embarrassing and not in the least bit justified. Unfortunately the vast majority, if not all on the pitch after M'Voto's winner were kids, no doubt the same kids that are there without parents on £10 season tickets.

If the club do decide (and I'm sure any decision won't be taken lightly) to remove the £10 season tickets, it will impact on my son, well, me! However if the club feel it is the only way to stop these idiots who turn up on a Saturday because their parents have bought them season tickets to get them out of the house on a Saturday afternoon, from ruining the 'match day experience' then I'm sure it will be a case where the club feel like there is absolutely no alternative.

I feel Barry and the rest of the board will not be able to do right for doing wrong here, although stewards that actually grab hold of people and cart them out if they attempt to enter the pitch would be a start!!!!!

i agree with a lot you have said there but it backs my point with dealing with the troublemakers and not punishing everyone i congratulated the club on a really generous offer with the £10 season ticket but to keep these supporters they really need to sustain it for a couple of years at least. A one season wonder doesn't work especially with as bad a season we have had and i really feel they are using the incidents as a excuse to dump the deal

  12. oh well a small minority of fans in the rocky road causing trouble as given the board a perfect excuse to cancel a offer for kids as others said it appears a decision had already been made anyway..shame my daughter was enjoying going with her friends with tickets i had bought she did not invade the pitch but i can't afford to pay much more for two tickets, shame for my son's teammates who have got more into latics this year but won't probably be able to go next year they did not invade the pitch, shame for all the local junior football teams who had given their kids season tickets who won't be able to afford that next year i bet the majority of them did not invade the pitch but on the bright side the club think they have got rid of the problem so will no doubt be delighted with their decision even though i guarantee you next season just like the previous 30 years of watching Latics there will be a pitch invasions at the last game.
