  1. At accrington i thought he was naive, at hartlepool i thought he was reckless and panicked, today i am sorry inept, clueless, incompetent and cost us the game, if he thinks kelly, feeney are not good enough to play up front ahead of two 100% centre halves then get rid dont stick them on the bench and put the kids there instead. Tactical suicide today... garbage in front of a big crowd again no wonder many stay away every week..

  2. my biggest complaint with the ref was the timekeeping, what happened to 30 seconds for a goal and 30 seconds for a sub it should have been a minimum of 5 minutes and if you include the delay in restarting the game nearer 7 minutes. City's heads and legs had gone at the end and we could have snatched a equaliser. Overall though a great game with some quality finishing from both sides and unlike the bully boy tatctics of sheffield wednesday in the last round played in the right manner..

  3. Furman again was knackered mid second half, the coldness didn't help and we just weren't channeling anything through the middle, we were just hoofing it aimlessly. Jones should have replaced Furman around the 70th minute, a bit more energy in the middle might have reinvigorating us.

Why were we letting O'Grady take the ball down and giving him space to pass? Dale have some decent ball players and they'll do alright this season. As for us, hope we haven't already peaked already, today we were decent at best in the first half and just not in it for the second. When you look back at Dale having a couple of decent chances and half a dozen half chances in the second half, you have to say it's a decent point because if one team was looking more likely to score a second, it was them. But it wasn't the response from Tuesday we were looking for and that's disappointing.

Overall, it was cold and shít and if you couldn't go, you really didn't miss anything.

Jones wasn't on the bench, which i thought despite his recent performances was a wrong decision, jarrett is quite clearly not the answer in the middle of the field so if you drop jones there needs to be a like for like replacement instead..

  4. Excuse for a footballer :ranting:

bollocks if you want a scapegoat blame the manager i was certain when alessandra was coming on it would be for winchester his legs had gone and he was being torn to pieces, he could have dropped furman back or evina big tactical mistake, blaming a player who has spent most of the season out of his natural position is just nonsense

  5. When there player kicked the ball at evina in the first half....Unless i completely misunderstood the situation?

ah ok, as another poster said i think him and mvoto were trying to calm him down he had lost the plot in the melee for some reason, not sure why hazell was booked it looked more like tounkare that got involved

  6. I thought that cup matches were not taken in to consideration when the club sorts out the finances for the season.

So all these people who now believe that we will enter administartation because of a poor 45 minutes are so off the mark.

What has happened we are out of 3 cup competitions in the 1st round of course this is not good but what has happened so far and what Dickov and GT has acheived this season far out ways these cup dissapointments.

Come on guys lets not get to down beat.

poor 45 minutes ???? did you miss some of it, it wouldnt have been harsh if we had been 7-0 down after a hour we were dire

  7. Back from the game. Im so glad we won, honestly, i think this was a very important win. 4-2 at home, unbeaten still and sets us up well for the Rochdale game. However, from start to finish we had an Old Oldham fan in the bottom right of the chaddy. Who was moaning about how naff our defence is and that we still have the same team as we did under penney. I let it go. At half time, he was taking the mick out of our team with his friends. All through the 2nd half he was moaning and groaning. Then at the end of the game he said i've been coming for 53 years and we have a :censored: team.

Ahh really did do my head in that. Moaning and groaning throughout. I think Morais has a good touch on him but i think he tried to impress to much and took it over the top. I think Furman had another belter of a game and I think Kelly is a brilliant player personally, he battles hard and today I'm so glad he scored. I'm not to sure on Feeney if im totally honest. His touch was off and I don't think he knew what he was doing at times. Ritchie Jones had a bit of a down game today. Evina also had a brilliant game with his overlapping runs and ace shot at the end of the first.

All in all, i think this has set us up brilliantly for the game against Rochdale.

    Keep the faith.

Dont want to join the moaning brigade but 'Morais has a good touch' wasnt the comment coming from me when he blazed the 3 yard open goal 60 feet over the bar with 15 minutes to go.

  8. Jacobson was "Man Of The Match" by a long way, the trialist centre half Julian Cherel also looked and played the part, good in the air and liked to get forward. Not sure if trialing this lad says the end for Greegs is in site but I have my worries for Gregan and his problems.

Overall a good team performance, but who told Worthington he could play football????????????????

Also saw a Mr Purdie play and he did OK, we we're a bit light weight upfront and played a 1-4-1-4-1 formation with a 5' 2" against Ferdinand and Brown no contest until Ferdinand went off and Jacobson scored a blinder.

United's second by Fredirico Macheda was a 30 yard stunner.

    Ian G.

agree about jacobsen, the best player tonight, worthington, and holdsworth very poor in midfield, strange tactics for me with 1 up front the forward needed support with that formation but as worthington and holdsworth got nose bleeds past the half way line it was never going to happen

  9. I would probably get arrested for the abuse they would get but it would be satisfying..This is a emotional report but i find it hard to disagree with any of it. One of the other sports i love as had shame brought to it again and not for the first time or i am certain will be the last its the pakistan cricket team thats done it...

  10. At the time of Hughseys loan to Blackpool we were pushing for promotion. I'm really not having it that TTA would loan him out to prevent him getting a bonus when the goals could have put us in a higher division.

yes of course we where thats why we had sacked sheridan and big joe was here, the promotion challenged died in january interestingly seemed to coincide with hughes head being turned with thoughts of a big money move to doncaster.

  11. There is an argument that says that Hughes volley changed the face of English football in much more significant fashion than Oldham's plight.

From our point of view: If that volley didn't go in, I honestly believe we would have beaten Chelsea and won the FA Cup. I also believe we would have had the momentum to avoid relegation, and could be looking back on that day from the position that, say, Bolton are in now.

From the Premiership point of view: If that volley didn't go in, there's every chance Martin Edwards would finally have got his way and sacked Ferguson. That would have heralded a quick demise for United back to the midtable obscurity they endured before Ferguson's appointment. There would have been no decade long domination of the Premiership by United, potentially opening up the opportunity for other clubs to prosper.

Nah, more like if the mark robins goal hadn't have gone in they would have got rid of fergie, speaking to most united fans i know they consider that goal and the one at forest in the 3rd round that year as the moments when united's fortunes changed, the hughes semi was the year after they won there first premier league i think??
