anyone else notice ritchie wellens sat in our end with will haining last night i wish somebody could have kidnapped furman and give his shirt to wellens
-
I don't think I would ever consider bringing Worthington on, especially when :censored: is there as well. Penney made the right substitions, just a little surprised by the order as we had no width for a few minutes with both Eaves and Abbott and no Taylor until Colbeck came on.
just thought furman faded badly in the 2nd half, i didnt realise :censored: was on the bench until he came on i was still convinced it was smalley until the PA announced it
-
agree completely. when lee went off lomax started warming up and i thought the worst but he actually went for it and tried gettin the goal instead of goin defensive. one or two of the subs were questionable although the right players came on just at the wrong time. but we went for it and got caught on the break cant complain at that and can't complain with the performance. more of the same and we might just have a chance
the away following was 598, yes wasn't sure about taking abbot off but to be fair he did look knackered, the only change i would have made earlier was perhaps to bring worthington for furman (just to see if he performed against is old club) but no real criticism of penney tonight and also will say despite the low turnout i thought our fans were great,
-
Think I heard in the background on Latics World that there was 659 Latics there. Not sure what the total was.
Think it was 589, really cant fault that performance tonight full of effort, we actually had a go at them and made them look second best, well done to penney for trying a new formation and putting players in there correct position!!!! I can accept defeat when we put in 90 minutes of graft, just wish we had been doing that every game this season.

I think we've got nothing to lose tomorrow
i agree with the words tomorrow, lose, i, think

Who gets your vote?...
Kieran Lee for me, pav and millar played ok the rest of them useless
-
i heard that a few left the game at half time too
then you heard wrong.. 1st half we played ok one down to a quality goal, 2nd half (was it another dave penney teamtalk?) they looked like 11 pissed up strangers who had met up for a pub team
-
We scraped a 1-0 win against 10 man bottom of the table.
E4e
CUKOO
exactly right god awful game and two terrible teams..
-
Kept us in it with two fine saves before we got the penalty
flahaven probably but then it would have been :censored: abbot and guy the 3 our clever manager decided to take off
-
With a scoring record like that, I'm wondering if I'd rather he WAS injured!
Ah well! If teams can come to BP to throw a monkey off their backs, then hopefully a striker can too.
Think the most worrying aspect of this signing is that guy was one of dp's signings..

I thought Abbott was brilliant first half. Gregan excellent again. Credit to Lee too. I also thought Taylor looked more of a threat, but DP really needs to let the full backs overlap occasionally.
Stephens for his dead ball delivery, control of the midfield and goal gets it for me though.
Dale Stephens for me the one player that as shown massive signs of improvement this season and scored a great goal tonight.

Its not the result that bothered me tonight, its is baffling substitutions and lack of plan b from penney, lomax (why is he not starting??) for furman who had a average game, this allowed :censored: who was abysmal to go into midfield were he continued to be abysmal, then eaves brought on, good i thought 3 up front but know he takes abbot off our only goal scoring threat in 2010, we never once pushed our midfield forward, in the last 5 minutes colbeck put a dangerous cross in and :censored: was on the half way line and stephens 10 yards in front of him. I am losing faith with him by the minute and struggling to see where we will get enough goals from to keep us up.
-
Agree with the comments from people that went yesterday.
Smalley is really disappointing and Parker a waste of space.Substitutions left me a bit baffled.
It was never going to be a classic but we got the win. Most of the fans showed patience and got behind the team except the knobs at the back singing die Penney die.........Whats that all about ?
Cant see a problem with the subs, taylor for the anonymous (again) whittaker, :censored: for stephens (he was one rash tackle from being sent off and was perhaps lucky not to go a minute before he was subbed) and abbott for parker (abbott was dead on his feet admittedly parker his not up to much but our forward choices are a bit limited).
As for the tools who watched the game at the back(they don’t deserve to be called supporters) they should have been thrown out it not really worth criticising them much on here as i doubt they are capable of operating a keyboard and mouse to get on this site.

Want to hear them loud and clear on Saturday please.
Others include:
ARE YOU LISTENING TTA ARE (tune of you are you watching)
YOUR :censored: AND YOUR TAKING US DOWN (directed at the team bar :censored:)
PENNEY OUT etc
Anything pro Andy Ritchie.
Where are you sitting on Saturday? I just want to make sure i am as far away as possible from you at 3pm.

As it really been raining that hard today? Not here it ain't
Its been puring down in south manchester all afternoon
-
to check the pitch and that everything is in order.
Anyone want a lift?

-
I'm going.
Although Mrs o4u thinks with my cold I shouldn't.
I am with my two kids and despite the depressing bollocks on this site i am looking forward to it

We need a striker and a centre back (as cover) and a winger - that's it

lol, there's people power for you!
youth report on there now. at least its relevant!
http://www.oldhamathletic.co.uk/page/NewsU...1946085,00.html
Thing is although the headline was misleading it was only a review of last nights action anyway, which in our current position is relevant.

Well, there is nothing happening at our club...is there?
It's a bit 'damned if you do, damned if you don't'. The official site has to be seen to be doing something in the wake of Ackey's departure...least they could do, is put up a report of the Reserve's match. Then again, there probably wasn't anybody there to watch it.
The reserves are playing tonight...they could make it up though Radio Manchester reported on monday morning that Rochdale Hornets won the Law Cup on Sunday beating Oldham 26-20 the match was actually called off and is taking place tonight.

We were the better team all game, could have been 2 up before half time but the strikers can't hit a barn door at the mo.
better team for 45 minutes, should have been 4-0 up at half time, but in 2nd half we were lucky it was 1-0

Went into Stockport at 8.30 this morning.
Because of traffic, I parked on the car park about 100 yards from E.P. With the heavy rain it was like a skid pan.
Within 5 minutes, I saw 5 different people slip on their backsides, and this was crossing the main A6 by the Town Hall.
If it thaws enough, I thinks the pitch will be waterlogged - not looking good
it wont be waterlogged, the pitch has covers on, i believe the problem was that the covers were frozen to the pitch.

I know the points about Kingsway are on here in a joking sense, but perhaps it's a good time to point out Alan Hardy's comments about Football League rules.
Basically a club can not move outside it's metropolitan boundary, and as Rochdale already has a football club, the league would never alow another club to relocate on their "patch".
wouldn't that mean manchester united are breaking the rules?
