  1. Out of interest, can anyone who was there (and paying attention) tell me what the piece of music was which they used over the clip of the Peterborough comeback?

    Ta

    Edit:

Just read that Eden Creative put together the presentation last night. Doesn't somebody from there post on here?

  2. Well, I popped over before the weekend, so didn't want to hide after the event.

To be fair, I understand you glee - if the roles were reversed I would probably be delighting in similar schadenfreude, so fair play to you.

That said, you will appreciate I feel absolutely devastated, and just numb really. Relegations are always hard to take, but given the perilous finances our club, and the "modern football" environment (sky generation etc) we now live in, I'm not sure we will bounce back from this, and am fearful that we might even do a Stockport.

Anyway, there it is. I guess our clubs are similar in many ways, struggling against the lure of big city neighbours, so until our paths cross again, adios Latics, it's been fun! :applause1:

Fair play to you pal. Good luck next season.

  3. Just had a quick gander on Sheff United's forum to guage their reaction of last night. A lot of posts taken from off here and their assessment is that we have small club syndrome and want to see them as some sort of rival.

More importantly though, a thread has been started about Connor Brown by a chap by the name of Mendi who has 300+ posts... Get in Royle Army.

Just had a quick look at their board out of sheer morbid curiosity.

Frequented primarily it would seem by over opinionated knuckle-draggers with a hyper-inflated sense of self importance, otherwise known as Yorkshire men.

    Liked these comments though :

"Not very keen on us are they? Shame."

As if anybody actually likes them?!

    and

"Good to see the Oldham fans came out in force for their last home game.....about 3,000 home fans there."

    Do keep up chaps!

  4.

89th minute fight in chaddy end was most entertainmet of the game.

don't bring you kids if you don't want hem to hear swearing. don't fight with adults if they have brought kids. numpties.com

This. Should have been sat in the family section across the Chaddy. Not even sure they were his kids. He didn't want the kids hearing swearing, but he didn't seen to mind them seeing him brawling like a pub drunk.

  5. top atmo from the chaddy today,we could hear you loud and clear all the way through the game today from the rre ,also the upper main stand singing loud and proud ,great 3 points today, but where the feck did that ref get 5mins injury time????

That would have been my massive trap you could hear pal! ;-)

Was good in there yesterday mate, a bit like it was before the split the home fans by opening the RRE.

And yeah, that ref was a right bell whiff!

  6. they were not all young. my I am 39 and there were a few others 20's 30's mixed in.

the test will be next week to see how many of the chaddy move to the rocky rd end.

and if anyone else says the drum doesnt help they are wrong. the drum beat kept thr LJ song at the correct tempo and that why it lasted so long.

    ^^^^^^^ this.

I'm 39 and my brother is 35. The guys that sit in front of us are in their 50's and they were signing more or less none stop. There were a couple of lads missing from the game yesterday who are in their 40's who would have been bang up for that atmosphere. It was more like the old fats in that section yesterday.

It also helps that I've got a massive trap as well! ;-)

    Keep it up lads!

  7. Shez always said it was lifestyle choices that kept Lee out the team when he was here. Penny even transfer listed the lad during his first (pre) season in charge. I think it was the latter that kicked Lee up the arse got him doing what he does best, playing football.

I don't remember the 'lifestyle choices' quotes from either of them.

What I do remember is being sat talking to Joe Royle about him at a Latics dinner and he said he was the best footballer in the squad by a mile but needed to be more vocal and put himself about a bit more as he was painfully shy.

  8.

Let's just hope Harkins doesn't get injured....

    Don't worry Dan.

According to one empty head on the way out, who was saying the fans who booed at the end are disgusting and "should f*ck off and watch Utd or City if they don't like it" , Gary Harkins is "f*cking :censored:, and he hates him" (all of this in front of my 9 and 5 y.o. kids).

  9. Strange Byrom came with the reputation of being a creative midfielder, yet he was playing well behind Wesolowski.

Today's line up with Clarke- Harris on his own up with no support whatsoever showed a frightened approach to the game, they got the point LJ will be satisfied with, but Crewe were poor and there for the taking with more attacking ambition in the awful first half.

Good job Harkins is here otherwise there would be no hope at all.

Man of the match Lockwood, Worrall a massive let down.

    Mom Lockwood?

Did well enough in open play but he is a penalty waiting to happen EVERY time we have to defend a set piece. He's always got his arms round the attacker. I thought at one point in the second half he was actually going to wrestle their lad to the ground.

  10. Can you list the number of big, strong, fit and quick players on the Latics books, most other teams in this division seem to have plenty of them.

I said something similar to my brother last night as we lined up on the edge if their box waiting for Harkins to pass a free kick straight to their keeper again. We are a team of midgets.
