Standard isn't great in National League by all accounts, I'd like to see him stay with us.

With all these midfielders it might be that we end up playing with 3 at the back.

He just needs game time. If he was so good at Fylde then 6 months in league 2 could do him the world of good if someone will take him.

I worry that many seem to see George & Stott should be playing now when they arent near resdy. Only National League sides like Fylde, Ashton & Stockport seem interested in using them consistently.

At this point I see George as good enough to cover a few games. He needs more development. Maybe a reserve team will help.

    Not sure.

As my man H. Bosch says though, some people do seem averse to the idea of having a squad.

It's good to have a squad but if you don't have a reserve team for the squad members to consistently play football it can have a detrimental effect.

Would we let Edmondson go in exchange I wonder?  Might account for the mysterious disappearance of the article about him and Fawns going on loan.

Is he full time? I may be wrong but that was also a stumbling block r.e a move. He was earning much more at Fylde plus his day job than we could pay?

I'd give the lad a chance first, its a couple of years since we've seen him.

Yeah if he signs he'll get a good number of games before I decide imo if he was worth it (as I always do no snap judgment) my opinion is based off what I've seen of him previously which is a all any of us can be base it off as he done next to nothing since he left.

  5. I think the overall consensus when he signed was that we'd got a top player for this level. Goes to show that if application & attitude is wrong you'll fail. Take note when complaining about J.Bynre's attitude. One wants to succeed & the other has just been released...

I'm not sure anyone accused him of being either shit or lazy.  I think some people, me included, said he tried to do too much if anything.

Don't say anything negative at all about favourites onsocial media. Seen as 'slating' & 'hounding' if nothing but love. Unless they do it of course ghen its fair game.

Tremendous signing if true, especially if we get players around him he trusts to carry the work load with the ball.

McLaughlin makes me confused. Is he injured again or not catching with Wellens?

With the two big men up top you’d think he’d be first name on the teamsheet. Both he and Nepo have a decent ball in them, but we’ve brought in another winger who may well get in ahead of him.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he leaves this month.

    Injured - hip flexor

    They shoot they score

Yeah, you’ve not slated him tho ?

Can we cherry pick some more games and deduct the minutes he did make saves in ?

'it seems if they shoot they score at the moment ' The words of Richie Wellens the Oldham Athletic manager!

Cherry pick what you want but 8 conceded in 9 shots are fact but you proved that to be untrue with your opinion?

You've blamed him for nearly every goal we've conceded in recent weeks. And came up with some bogus facts. Don't get upset when I point out you're wrong. And talking rubbish.

Lol upset? You're the one who seems defensive calling posters fucking clueless because they're opinions differ.

You offered an opinion of what you saw at Shrewsbury. What you typed above is rubbish! I've offered opinion on when he could have done better or at fault but  i also pointed out and blamed the defence. If I could be arsed I'd research the games but it was common knowledge he had conceded 8 out of  9 shots at one point. RW mentioned also.

Edit: turns out I could be arsd

Plymouth, Fleetwood , Bristol Rover & 16 mins at Shrews

    9 shots 8 conceded!

By end of Shrews 11 shots 8 conceded. Thanks for pointing out how wrong I was.

There's the odd time I've thought he could've done a bit better but while the defence are cocking up badly every game and leaving him totally exposed, I won't be slating him. And I'm the last person to be wowwed by someone being "flash". I'd give him a 7/10 so far which is perfectly acceptable in my book.

Slating him? Or offering an opinion on a keeper who has done very well at times but could have done much better on others.

    6/10

If he hadn't come off his line, he would've got slagged off for that too.

I can't wait till the day we play without defenders and then we can blame the keeper solely for every goal.

If he stayed back yhen hunt would more likely have tackled him or got to challenge at the very least.  I did mention that the defence was at fault not just JP..

Dont go giving your opinion or criticising other players in the squad you never know who might get upset when it differs to yours eh?

It wasn't. It's easier for folk to think it was though.

Including the manager in a couple on interviews....

The stats may be wrong or the may have been 8 out of 9 prior to shrews & he certainly isn't being hounded but he certainly gets away with lot more than previous keepers when it comes to errors. That's good but certainly doesn't mean it shouldn't be discussed. Although I forget the owtbs rule  that everybody is fair game for a absolute character as assassination based on a football match unless he's a fan favourite.

Oh & the Bristol goal. If he doesn't come off his line as Hunt had caught him the striker then he doesn't make it easy for the lob. Made the decision an easy one for him (defence also at fault)

Apart from the Shrewsbury goal I can’t think of any obvious errors recently. Also, I can’t think of any that basically weren’t one on ones or free headers etc. Nothing from outside the box? Maybe Charlton because he was beaten at his near post but he was left totally exposed by the defence. Common theme for recent goals conceded.

Ripley is a better shot stopper and better positionally, but I’d have Placide ahead on collecting crosses and distribution/being part of the passing game.

Loved Ripley and he’s the better keeper all round out of the two, but as far as fitting in to our style of play with Wellens, I’d rather have Placide and spend budget elsewhere.

I think he should have done better for the last 3 goals hes conceded, Shrews (error) Charlton ( near post,  bad positioning) Bristol Rover (He came & made the strikers mind up for him when hint got back). Prior to that he conceded 4 at Plymouth. I'm not saying he is a bad keeper by any stretch however I think some of the adulation he gets for other aspects of his game means the basics which he hasn't done well consistently for a while is being ignored.
