  1. Jack Byrne our only superstar midfielder in the last 20+ years in league 1 who had his attitude questioned by 2 former clubs, constantly by his ex manager, his current manager and the fans for long spells all while getting relegated to the 4th Division. Move him on and forget about him. More trouble than he's worth.

From what I've seen the only other 'professional' that has come out and defended him is that fat fuck at Carlisle.

Do you think for one minute that had the Fane incident been intentional,Byrne wouldn't have been sacked on the spot?

Gerrard was shown the door for far less. The lack of information tells us all we need to know.

One is a saleable asset the other is a fat fuck in Carlisle. You don't sack your (debatable) best saleable asset if you really don't have to.

So that's Davies, Holloway, Gerrard and Byrne who have few seem to have a good word for. Some bitter fans on here.

over recent years Oldham fans have always been 'what have you done for me lately' kind of fan base. Turn at the drop of a hat!

    1. Slating him in the press one minute and praising him the next minute, playing him out of position which is bad for both him and the team. Dropping him randomly. Bringing him on to save the game.

    2. No, anyone can have a winning mentality.

1 You'll have to remind me how he slated him as I honestly don't recall. If it was he isn't doing his job properly then as 'a winner' then how can that possibly be?

    2. You'll find to b a winner you do actually have to win something hence people calling you a winner. A winning mentality takes you only so far. In this case league 2 and what looks like a pre-season suspension.

Charlie Sheen had a winning mentality just before he was sacked from a million dollar contract and was diagnosed with HIV - WINNING!

Byrnes problem isn't talent, its mentality which is far from winning and application when things don't go his way. He could potentially throw away a superb career. its up to him

The Latics fans behaviour towards Byrne is embarrassing. And you wonder why players never want to stay here?

not one person has one bit of proof of his attitude or his behaviour. Just because he doesn’t fit the consensus what Latics fans seem to prefer of a player running around like a headless chicken.

Hes a class player, very clever and he’s a winner, said it himself. All players who are winners have a similar attitude to him. Look at ronaldo and zlatan...

it it seems like cause he didn’t single-Handedly keep us up it’s like he’s the scapegoat and he’s the worst person in the world.

Byrne was ridiculously bad managed and lost his way a bit.

    Absolutely bizarre some Latics ‘fans’.

I agree with some of the above apart from 2 things.

1.You have no proof of mismanagement just that Jack didn't like playing in a certain position. Sometimes we have to do things at work we don't like, that's on Jack.

    2. To be a winner don't you have to win something?

  6. I saw your first reply underdog. I was replying to someone else! I didnt ask you for your personal opinion I asked for the trust view and the xmas card comment is not relevant or necessary! By the way, I don't know Simon & have never met him! We still communicated about this though.

Someone who worked as part of the trust for a long period recently left the trust & became a club employee defends the the chairman publicly at a trust meeting not 2 weeks ago. Then after a fall out with the chairman whom he and the Trust have defended publucly & nobody is willing to comment or investigate?

Are their thoughts on the chairman are still as strong after another employee sacking out of the blue as Simons now seem a different only 2 weeks later! Funny that!

This is an issue though again if everybody knows but the trust that Simon is leaving/left the club. I think personally it is something to comment on & I'm sure I'm not the only one. Maybe something to look into a little? Not just ignore things happening at the club for weeks at a time with no answers. I'll leave it there.

    So ask Simon.

I have & I know how he feels...

Now I'd like to know how the trust feel about a conifdant leaving the club 2 weeks after defending AL & putting numerous fans minds at rest at the trust meeting.

  8. I appreciate the response but in the last few weeks a trust meeting was held which Simon was apart of. A number of people attended that meeting with serious reservations about Abdallah & the future. Simon answered questions and put a lot of minds at rest that night. Now it seems 2 weeks later AL & Simon have butted heads and Simon has gone.

Does this not get alarm bells ringing even a little for the trust? Big turn of events in a short period isn't it? Would Simon still speak the same way as he did at the trust meeting if that meeting happened today?

  9. Rumours are rife that Simon Brooke is on his way after a fall out with Abdallah.

Do the trust know anymore on the situation and does this shake your faith in AL at all? Plenty of changes happening but some like this seem to be completley out of the blue & involve someone you all obviously trust. Whats happening?

When you look at Gardner what you see is what you get - lower league journey man who will do okay for himself, when your arguing over his ability take into consideration Fane would of probably gained more votes in a fans player of the season ballot and that's one limited footballer.

Take into consideration who would be voting on these things and take with an extremely large pinch of salt.

There's been 2 months since the last professional match and you're telling me the media fellas haven't had time to put aside to edit some lines of text? Amateurish and lazy.

The media team are put together some excellent content recently, do they strike you as lazy? Also do you think it their only job at the club to change the shite website so sad bastards can't look for mistakes?

It may be amateurish but that's how it is more than likely due to the previous 12 year plus regime . When we have more staff to cover every role that may change. Until then hes called Frankie Bunn, just ask if you forget!

  12. I wouldn't expect him to leave for free as he under an extended contract, we paid money for him and he has improved each year since his arrival.

Despite the abuse he gets from the majority on here he is exactly what we need in a midfield of ball watchers who only really want involvement when we are in possession.

Well who'd have thought this in January,  the guy hasn't a pot to pixx in, in fact it's looking like he couldn't sustain us in the conference.  So much for all the checks by the football league
