  1. We had strong rivals in Bolton, Blackburn,Leeds and City when we were in Div2. But previous to that and later it has been Bury,Rochdale,Wigan and Blackpool.
  2. We might lose him in the summer. Liverpool are showing interest.
  3. EeeByGum. Good luck with the trip up tonight. Which part of Shropshire are you?. I live in Leintwardine which is just over the border in Herefordshire, but 6 miles from Ludlow. I would get to more home games if I could find someone to share the driving. Let me know.
  4. Ian Towers played mostly as a striker at No.8. I think 66/67 season he scored 27 goals which included a 4 and a 3. We signed him from Burnley(£20,000) as a right winger after he had played 45 times in the 1st div. Passed away in 2015 aged 75.
  5. Rachubka was born in U.S. He may have had a U.K. passport later but he was in his teens when he came here. Good keeper.
  6. Who was the American keeper we had on loan from M.U. He went on to play for a few clubs probably around 3-400 games. He was born in St Louis Obispo, California.
  7. England won the world cup in 66 with Nobby Stiles playing the same roll as Phillips. Lets be honest that Nobby was not world class, but he worked hard ,won tackles and gave the ball to Charlton or Ball.
  8. Christian Calusso was born 1977 and spent 4 months on loan at Latics in 2002. 13 games and 2 goals one of which was last minute at Bury. We did have another Argentinian in 1993 I remember seeing him play at Liverpool. Can't remember his name.
  9. Sheff Utd., worst home defeat since 0-5 v Latics Jan 2nd 1988. Was there. Bunn2,Palmer,Wright and Mike Flynn's only goal for us. Interestingly our average home attendance that season was 6902 which is not a lot different from now. That included 16000 v City and 14000 v Blackburn.
  10. Jimmy Thompson was sold to Exeter for £5000 plus we got their midfielder Ray John. He didn't last to long. Jimmy played at number 6. Always took the pens.
