What's the case with Poleon? No goals in 10 league games, and he's had plenty of chances. Been far better all round than in front of goal.

The case is that he's no striker.Just being utilized in the last 20-25 minutes of games for his pace against tiring defenders,whilst at the same time protecting Forte by subbing him.

But he is not quite good enough! As a club we need to be looking at the next improvement which I said before the season started was Petrasso or a goalscoring winger like him who can actually sometimes beat a man and cut in or cross the ball against better defences than Coventry. We shouldnt rest on our laurels!

I'm still not convinced by Dayton at all, he's too lightweight and constantly gets out muscled.

Yes he's lightweight,but he's one of our best creative players,drives forward with intent.He is a wide player who can actually run past the full back and whip in dangerous crosses.He has done well this season when given the chance.Just so happens he's behind in the pecking order to our only regular goalscorer.

It would've been criminal had we not gone through after pummelling them for much of the game.Now where is that striker we're meant to be signing??

Impressive performances tonight from Tidser,this lad can pick a pass,Dayton,Wilkinson and Philliskirk.Very enjoyable game to watch with lots of attacking play.

Barnsley defence looked :censored: scared of our pace out wide in first half.Poleon,Dayton and Philli are having a field day so far.As said,should be more than two up.

If he stays fit, no reason Forte can't get 20 this season. From what I gather he's primarily a winger?, but he looks like he's got all the attributes to be our 'poacher'.

I'm not convinced Forte is a poacher from what I've seen of him so far.He's more likely to create a goal for himself or run onto through balls outpacing defenders to score.An experienced lump of a striker who'll cash in from crosses from being in the right areas at the right time is what we're missing at the moment.

Working in Birkenhead from time to time,what still confuses me is seeing the number of people there walking down the streets wearing United tops,and not just the odd one or two.

Balls of steel that man Chapple,fingers crossed he can deliver with the ball this afternoon.

We looked the better side whilst looking more of a threat than them from wide positions,especially down the left.One thing that did stand out though was the number of times Poleon,Forte and Wilkinson got into excellent shooting positions,but instead of pulling the trigger first time chose to try and take an extra touch which resulted in either a Notts defender closing the player down and blocking the shot or us being dispossessed.It happened four or five times when in goalscoring positions.We had the opportunities today,just poor decision making at times.Overall though I was happy with a point away from home and another solid display.

 

That would be crazy to drop Winchester just as he has really started to shine.

 

If anyone should be dropped it has to be Dayton. He played well Tues but there is no comparison with Forte if hes fit

It'd be just as harsh to drop Dayton after his last two performances.
