Southampton for me.Nice ground and decent bars nearby at the harbour. Also Pompey & Southsea is an excellent night out & well worth a stop-over.
-
Correct me if I`m wrong, but I believe Chris Makin was the first English player to leave on a "Bosman Free".Shafted good n proper!
-
In some crap format yes its still there
I remember the "supporters" from other teams, Jewell and Crewe_Koala etc. Amusing and annoying at the same time.
And who can forget the ahem, opinions of James Maker. He had a lot of sensible things to say on everything Latics!
-
Dont think he would`ve got an extension to his contract at the end of the season anyway. This rubber stamps it. All the best Les with the injury & for the future. And thanks for some great memories. An amazing penalty save at Prenton Park will stick in my memory.

I really like how Crossley marshalls the back four - and his distribution and vision to make a quick throw or a kick to a winger is the part of his game I enjoy most - turns defence into attack so quickly
Something I've always wanted to see a Latics 'keeper do is make quick throws to the full back/winger rather than hopeful punts to the strikers, and now we have that! Joy of joys
Keep the Faith
I agree.Norm seems far more aware and able to release the ball for Taylor or Davies to run on to and counter-attack.Lee Grant was also excellent at that too.
Just a thought about a new keeper for next season,if Norm isnt still playing for us.Scott Flinders of Palace looks like he`s on his way out at the end of this season and would be a good signing IMO.I know he didnt have a brilliant game for the carrott crunchers today but a promising and very good young keeper.
-
Excellent news for the lad.I like him.Though he hasn`t got the same ability(or potential)as Eardley,he has a better football brain looking for the simple pass & rarely giving the ball away IMO.
Remember his first game at Notts County he played on the right side of midfield in that game(Paul Murray`s last game for Latics) & did well.

Morecambe,Dale,Cheaterfield & Shrewsbury.

Regarding parking - Have I really got no Chance of parking anywhere newar the ground and walking in? Dont really want to do the P+R but if we have to so be it
You wont be allowed to park anywhere near the ground I`m afraid.P&R is the easiest option unless you park in the centre & get a cab to the ground.

When I booked my coach ticket last night just before ko, they only had 12 names on the list. I suppose after the latest win, a few more will be tempted to make the journey. After missing the last two away (to Yeovil and Gills), I hope to see the start of another amazing away win streak beginning with Swans.
Anyone else joining?
BTW, they say no pubs near Liberty admit away fans. Do they serve alcohol inside?
I`ll be there for sure.Stopping over in Cardiff though as is a better night out by far!
I got in the newish pub opposite the ground before & after the game last year with no probs.

Now I don't normally condone violence, or indeed violent punishments, but I have to admit I would quite happily stand by and watch the vicious beating of ANYONE caught throwing coins, kids included. No possible excuse for it.
And if the coin throwing culprit(s) are caught, I hope the club intends to impose life ban(s). The only appropriate measure IMO.
OR,after identifying the moronic culprit(s) shame them by putting them in stocks on the halfway line & offer the chance for punters to throw coins, tomatoes, eggs at them for some half-time entertainment!
In all seriousness,if this has occurred before then the question begs why haven`t the stewards been instructed to take neccesary action to prevent this from happening again?!

I agree mate, same way i loved Ernie but as actually footballers they were not up to much
Furry muff.

Loads of talent just way out of form. As Dowie always said get value on the pitch and people like Davies, Trotman and Eardley are all worth money because they have talent and the potential to play at a higher level. Christ think of the potential Davies has at 21 and remember the front partnerships with people like Tipton, Whitehall and Carlo!
Hey,leave Carlo alone!Legend.
-
keep him till the end of the season and get a million for him easy
A million. And then your alarm clock rang!
-
Why are we a joke?Would you care to elaborate.
-
And for all those sheep-like plebs who were chanting theres only one greedy b*****d,who got the last laugh yesterday eh?
Well done Luke & good luck in the next round & for the rest of the season.
Some Latics know a good player when they see one & appreciate what you did for us.Others however have short memories & feel obliged to shout obscenities(and I`m not just referring to the young chavvy scum either!).
-
Bournemouth away a good few years back on a Friday night! They were playing at Dorchester`s ground as their new ground was being built. We went 1-0 up after 30 seconds(Tipton)but ended up losing 3-2.Think sir David of Eyresshire got our other goal.Decent game, though one hell of a trek back home.I got home around 5.00am on the Saturday morning after dropping my mate off en route.

I work in Liverpool so i`d love to see us get to play Rafa`s overpaid & overhyped team of foreigners & hopefully win so I could then take the piss out of everyone at work!Failing that, then either the other Red Scum or Watford as I`ve got mates who supprt them.
-
