Favourite as in who has given entertainment and done well for us, Jose Baxter.

Was a Sami Hyppia a rumour.... or just a retrospective missed opportunity according to Sharp?
Same for David Batty? Royle had agreed a fee....!?!
Not a rumour, he was on trial with us.

Well we might have nothing left in the tank after today, but my word that's lifted a lot of pressure off Monday's game!
Same team as today? Holloway in place of Ngoo of course.
Holloway and Taylor will probably come back in,

Swindon are playing Walsall and Charlton who'll have nothing to play for.
-
I'm not sure where you've got that from...
Teams occupying 21st place in the last 5 seasons had:
11/12 - 43 points
12/13 - 48 points
13/14 - 47 points
14/15 - 50 points
15/16 - 47 points
Have you got stats for those finishing in 20th though more importantly?
-
It would be easier to compile a list of succesful ones.
Corazzin, Beckett, Hughes, Porter. Job done.
-
Who cares?
Clearly not you, but people do.
-
They are.
Both born in Merseyside.
Clarke is most definitely not.
Calling someone from Southport or St Helens a scouser is like calling someone from Wigan or Oldham a Manc.
-
Something along the lines of....?
It's Clarke and Gerrard, It's Clarke and Gerraaaaaaard
They are both scousers and they're :censored:in hard.
Might work if they were both scousers ?
-
How long till the thread gets clocked?
Keep it going, it's ticking along nicely.
-
Bag head?
Smack head

McLaughlin was on Scouse twats books for a while aswell and he's pretty :censored:
Played out of position I'd agree. He's wasted on the left, far more effective as a right winger and has shown he's got ability. Also, he wasn't ":censored:" for Barnsley.
-
Gerrard and Clarke are both scousers who played together at Huddersfield. This idea they can't play together is nonsense.
Tarky was a central midfielder as a youth, as much as I rate Edmundson and want him to start against Mansfield he will never be in the mound of Tarky
Clarke started off at Everton, but he's certainly no scouser. He's a Birkdale lad, whereas Gerrard is as scouse as they come from Huyton.

Glaring misses, great saves etc but the real issue for OAFC today has to be a crowd of 3451 for our only festive season home game against reasonably local opponents when prices were reduced by 37.5%.....
How many more fans were you expecting?
-
Left as soon as they scored the second . I'm not even that upset by it anymore . Waste of time
I'm of the same opinion now where I'm not that arsed anymore getting beat as it's expected. Getting beat used to leave me in a bad mood for days but since last season when it became more apparent Corney has thrown the towel in I've become accustomed to it.

How familiar does this sound? Our best players were Croft and Osei when they came on as subs.
On thing is for certain; we are going to be bored out of our tiny minds watching Latics this season.
We definitely are not going to attract any more supporters with the style of football we are playing; it's awful to watch.
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.........
Why the concern on how many more people come to watch the team? Is your name Simon Corney?
As for the football, you're right it's not great to watch. We've no width and no tempo to our game.
-
Mantack's first touch was awful too. Seems to be the same old story where a lot are happy to give "one of our own" from the youths a fairer crack of the whip, yet both Mantack and Law have only played twice for us in meaningless kickabouts.
-
Agree that we must try and sign the trialist winger/forward. He'd give us something different that we don't have, rapid pace and clearly has quality
-
Surprised you didn't mention Klok. Thought he was very good. Flynn, very tidy and Reckford great. Some of Croft's footwork was sublime.
I thought Klok started slow but got better. Agree about Croft, once Flynn went off he (Croft) looked the best player capable of opening their defence up, was quality.
Was watching the keeper warm ups before the game and Kettings dropped everything that was kicked at him.
-
Croft, Flynn, Reckord had decent games. Wouldn't bother with the trialist who came on second half at ctr mid.

lived in Leigh in the early 90s and they were at one point going along very well finishing as high as third or fourth in the old conference and taking kevin keegans fulham to an FAcup 1st round replay but crowds were poor then the buisnessman who was bankrolling them lost interest and it all went wrong coupled with the move to the new stadium and that was it
And they're now playing in the same league as my Sunday team as Leigh Genesis.

He tore us a new one at Bramall Lane in the first half last season, dropping deep at times spraying balls to their onrushing full backs. Very impressed with him that day. Bit of a marquee signing this one for us.

McLaughlin, that's it.
