Looked a cracking player on his debut, but lazy.

Thanks for that, I rarely visit the official site these days so would have missed that.

You have to feel for Steven Brown, it brings a whole new meaning to the phrase "thrown in at the deep end".

So, on the face of it, we have no CEO, no FD, no permanent head coach/team manager, and are 91st in the pyramid. BUT we still have our beloved Director of Sport.

Thank God the colossus* that is Mo Lemsagam remains to steady the ship and ensure our onward progress toward the sunlit uplands. All hail Mo! All hail Ab!

    * in the immortal words of Shakespeare - surely written with a sporting paragon like Mo in mind:

Why, man, he doth bestride the narrow world

Like a Colossus, and we petty men

Walk under his huge legs and peep about

    To find ourselves dishonourable graves

    Is Mo still around?

I think the splendidly named George Kinnell was Jim Baxter's cousin. Baxter, who for younger readers was a kind of Scottish Gascoigne, had just signed for Sunderland and wanted a drinking partner. George was happy to oblige and agitated for a move. Latics cashed in.

Latics started the season brilliantly and were top of Div 3 and going splendidly. With Kinnell going , Johnston and Ian Towers getting injured, and Frank Large sold it all fell apart and we finished about tenth. Ken Bates lost interest and left the club in the mire about eighteen months later and we declined to just about the state we are in now.

Then came John Lowe and Jimmy Frizzell....

Dickie Down. Probably as bad if not worse than Hope.

Is it such a big assumption?  One of our 2 physios from last year up and leaves to go to Blackpool as second physio, so the only "career progression" is a different club at similar level.  The Doctor who has been there 30 years leaves, I'm guessing not to a "career progression" and our present head of Physiotherapy, so you don't go upwards from that, leaves to take another job, probably at a different club, ie one which will treat him better.

I think the assumption was a reasonable one.

Could be because there is only one physio, (or so we are told) and he's fed up of all the pressure on his own. Or he's simply fond a better paying job.

Club sec hasn't been here that long has he?

He may be the person wo didn't understand the simple rules of the EFL loan and has therefore been fired. Quite rightly if so.

It also looks like they have realised they screwed up when deciding to make the ticket office part time. They saved money last season because of covid, but the chickens have come home to roost now.

Jonson Clarke-Harris charged by FA for homophobic tweets, the latest being 2 months before he joined us.

Who has gone to the trouble of trawling back through his twitter posts, trying to find something tasty? Someone must have got it in for him. I'm not supporting his comments a all, it just seems a bit strange. After all he isn't a high profile player.

Aren't sell-on clauses usually a percentage of any transfer profit?

    Yes I think so.

I can't see Ipswich forking out anything like £700k. Perhaps the £700k included add ons like number of appearances. As he only made 13 1st team appearances, I doubt we got anything for them. Maybe the actual fee was around £500k, but even that would be silly money for Ipswich or Wigan. Derby would pay it, but they are embargoed. No windfall there then, unless it's a rolling sell on clause.

We certainly can't compete with another National League club Stockport County, will they end in disaster too, or are their recent signings (which are definitely beyond our means) an investment in the future?

I suspect their are several NL clubs we can't compete with.
