Handed in my notice a while ago, my last day is on Friday :)

The club has found a replacement for me, but the club have decided to make the Ticket Office part time and my replacement will be part time also. She has plenty of experience working in a Ticket Office

Thanks for that Billy. Hope you enjoy life at Man U.

The ticket office only opening 3 afternoons a week and 11-3 on Saturday, seems crazy to me. I know quite a bit of the time there is no-one at the window, but there are plenty of other things need doing as you will know.

PC scored for Fleetwood and Joe Jacobson grabbed a brace.

It was like skins v vests at Orient.

Brill and Wilkinson for Orient and Hunt Lydon and Doyle for Swindon. And Wellens.

I'm totally surprised that Brill is still earning a living as a goalkeeper. Especially in the league.

  3. Probably the only way to get AL and ML out is to make them lose face in front of other owners and directors. I don't know if he was there or not yesterday, but the chants are starting. If it's kept up and very loud he won't like it one bit.

Lemsagen, Lemsagen get out of our club, Lemsagen get out of our club...…….Or Abdallah Lemsagen get out of our club, get out of our club, Abdallah Lemsagen get out of our club

Check his record....even at 35 at this level Clarke would score a bagful

Why would Leon Clarke leave Sheffield Utd. I know they want him out, but he's 35, still under contract, and earning (I should think) very decent money. No chance he would come here.

This is a poor poor side but so are most in this division. Seriously,  get Wheater back with Egert, Hamer, or a n other, an  experienced midfield Marshal and Leon Clarke up top and we’d be mid table in no time.

Whether these idiots can see what we need or more importantly are all that bothered about our league position God only knows!!

I would imagine there's not enough left in the budget for the players required. It's been frittered away on a large squad of below average, light weight players. Wheater is the only decent signing.

"It will take a lot to remove a bitter taste from the mouth of many fans who once sported the team's colours".

A sentence from the Latics' programme editorial of December 9th 1969, very nearly 50 years go. It was written at a dire time, probably worse than now, when , in a run of ten matches without a win (including an 8-1 drubbing at Peterborough) , the club was in grave danger of going under. Down in the basement slots of Div 4, Latics were , and again a quote from the programme,  "under the hammer of auctioneeers, liquidators - and various other people who might have been called on to act on behalf of former chairman Ken Bates, who had a strong and understandable desire to get back his loan money".

The programme was for a game that pretty much summed up the plight of the club. It was a FA Cup Second Replay against South Shields from the Northern Premier League. After a struggling 0-0 draw in the first match, Latics were humiliated at home, losing 2-1.

The club was saved, mainly due to John Lowe, a director who came on board at about this time and took the "chance to check the files and weigh up a policy which the public are going to believe is sincere and in the right direction".  Ironically, given current goings on at Gigg Lane, John Lowe had been on the Board at Bury but resigned in Oct ober 1969 because of "a disagreement over policy" and "Bury's domestic difficulties". Anyway he gradually righted the ship off the pitch and the appointment of Jimmy Frizzell as Manager did the same iin playing matters, keeping us out of the bottom four and gaining promotion the season after.

I post this not out of a sense of "don't worry everything will turn out ok like it did before". Those of us who were around at the time know it was a really depressing period and the future was very bleak. It did work out alright - and from a worse position than we are now in - but I don't know if there are lessons to be learned.

Maybe we need a new John Lowe, a man who didn't get into publlc wrangling, and who stabilised us for years to come. Could the FLG assume that mantle? I don't know .

I remember this as well. However Bates left, whereas AL won't go. I can only hope there is a John Lowe around somewhere, but they aren't at Bury. Maybe on a board of another well run club somewhere.

If AL is managing to make some money, by whatever means, from OAFC he will remain. We have seen this with other owners at other clubs. Give them abuse, they stop going but still earn.

The only way to get an owner out is to hit them in the pocket.

Stop giving them your money. Support the FLG (when the time comes) and get rid of this clown.

He's already got the season ticket money this season. The gate receipts from home fans will be quite small each home game say 2 or 300 hundred decreasing every game, including over 60's and kids so perhaps an average of say £2k per game + profits from program sales etc. I doubt that's going to hurt when he's willing to turn £9k+ down from the boxes.

Newcastle fans have been protesting and boycotting for years, but Ashley is still there.

If the owners won't go, it's practically impossible to force them out.

If we the fans do protest, it has to be covered by the media, and I mean TV, and the pressure has to be kept up.

It baffles me why AL can't see the shambles created by himself, he needsto swallow his pride and admit his foreign policy strategy has been a complete disaster. I know he won't though and that's the big concern.

Today was like a watching  paint that will never dry.

You are right, but even if he can see the shambles he can't do anything about it now (not that I think he would anyway). We are stuck with this lot for the season, because of the transfer rules.

Maouche should be playing further forward, and we only need one defensive midfield player. If we don't bring in a creative midfield player and a proper CF with plenty of experience at this level or above we've had it.

Sefil was an absolute joke yesterday. Umpteen times they had a player unmarked in the middle of our goal. All Sefil could do was point at the unmarked player when he wasn't marking anyone. Stott was already marking one of their other forwards.

We may just survive relegation because of Wheater. If we lose him for any length of time we've had it. I thought like others that there were at least two teams in this league worse than us, but after our pre season and what I saw yesterday, I seriously doubt it now.

The FLG really need to come out and say if they intend buying the owner out through a fans shares issue.

    That may have some impact.

I think AL is so stubborn the last people he would sell to would be the FLG. He would rather see the club go into admin. At that point the FLG could take over if they have the money, but we will be in a very sorry state by then.

They may not exist now but things change when you actually lose the thing that is precious to you. Until we are literally at deaths door you won't know what might happen.

Despite some postings on here I don't think we are at that stage yet.

No-one came forward when Moore walked away. We went into receivership, and nearly went bust until TTA took over at the last minute, if I recall correctly.

No, not just you. Absolute nightmare the black nets. The white flashing "Wakelet" boards were a nightmare when the ball was down at the Chaddy End given where I was sat.

Hope we refer back to white netting and they can somehow tone down the brightness of the perimeter boards, otherwise Winter games and night games at Boundary Park will be a nightmare.

Oh dear. If you guys are having problems seeing the ball I have no chance. I lost it a few times last season.

Just watched a documentary on BBC I-player about Newport County - a club that went bust, reformed, had to leave Wales twice & play in England, took on the Football League, FIFA & UEFA and won, and last season reached the 5th round of the FA Cup.
This is a supporters owned club, the town/City seem to support the club, the place is a shithole but its there's. In 1989/90 they were in the Hellenic League and playing home games in Moreton-le-Marsh in Gloucestershire, 85 miles away from Newport. In 1989/90 Latics were embarking on their most illustrious campaign in their history, got to one domestic Cup Final, the semis of the FA Cup and only missed out on the Championship play offs as the number of fixtures took their toll. Thirty years later, Newport are in a better situation than Latics despite the handicap of where they started from in 1989.
Three things stood out (1) just how much you can achieve with the right people at the club and the right spirit
    (2) Just how much some people love their club no matter how shite they are and how bleak their outlook.
    (3) How far Latics have fallen given their starting point and how they squandered our golden generation far too quickly.
If the Lemsagams bin Latics and leave us in shite, we can recover, we will recover and we can become our Oldham again. Unless the owners change their behaviour sadly I can't see we will ever have the right people and right spirit at the club again but I can dream.

It's taken 30 years though. I won't be around in 30 years, so I would prefer us not to go bust at all.
