I am far less concerned about 'who' we sign than I was last season. Of the two stand out players for this season (Yarney/Kitching) one I had never heard of in Yarney and the comments on here were really negative and here we are tryinf to extend his contractpast the end of next season already. When Green came in some were almost laughing but he has looked good enough to me to challenge next year. Two or three of players I had never heard of before wont worry me in the slightest if they have seen the same appitite those two had. Its no coincidence that the upturn in form coincides with Yarneys arrival and green has chipped in with goals whilst also giving us width. Add a name to that to sell a few more season tickets and we have a team that will hopefully play for each other. This reminds me of 87-88 ......... we know what happened then, maybe its our turn now!

Season tickets will see a boost in sales one a marquee signing or two take place....... maybe

I retract my Fondop relese vote ......

Thats the reason I chose release, you need to be in the squad to make an impact and 7 games suspended is a third of all home games (nearly pedants) we dont need that .... do we ...... I reckon yesterday would have seen a far more comfotable win with him in the team!!

Anyone else having problems getting the website to work for renewals?
it took a while .... I compared the websties performance to the Wrexham and Gateshead performances slow, lethargic and lacking in qualuty

I love this seasons 3rd kit (hated the green one) but the third one was brilliant. I may be in the minority but I liked the black and the white away strips from the past were decent too.

I thought the Athleticos were in good form .... no negativity and pretty much constant 12th man. Yarney was great but Sheron deservedly MOM. Tollit looked like he had mobility issues ... running only when he had to? Those Norman saves at key moments made victory so much sweeter.

Im looking forward to this one tonight .... This is the first match of my youngest sons first season ticket. I never thought he would join me but thanks to a free ticket for helping with the covers on NYD he actually enjoyed himself. Please make sure he WANTS to return

How many Oldham Athletic managers does it take to change a lighbulb?
None. He'd get his assistant to do it and tell you that was what was planned all along and, not wanting to climb a floodlight does not make him a shithouse.

Just clicked on a random match ... then let it feed, we were some team in the late 80s early 90s and I am glad I was there to witness it. One thing cought my eye though as I was always and Andy Rhodes man ... Jon Halworth was a hell of a keeper and boy were we robbed by the noisy red lot with Irwin. I kicked off with the 2-2 SHeff wed draw .... and the teams commitment to each other was unbeleivable. We were never beaten .. we always had hope and played and attacked to the end of every game. Thanks Andy ... what a needed dive into my memories !!!

Thats a great move by the club as I diont think he was treated right by 'those who shall not be named' and would love him to be as successful as he was as a player with the academy.
