  1. After yesterdays performance this had to be done today or we may as well not bother the remianing 9 games. Shez not only lost the players yesterday ... but more importantly the Oldham fans.

Very sad to see Shez go, hope he gets another chance and goes onward and upward. He obviously has a lot to learn and has done so the hard way. Yesterday unfortunately at half time despite being 2-2 you could see we would lose and 10 minutes into the second half I was sure we would we would get 5/6 put past us, you could just feel that we were running on empty.

Joe has a big challenge, lets just not assume that he can wave a magic wand, but at least he will get everyone's unequivocal support

  2. Is this the same player who has been inefective ever since the Scunthorpe game thinking he had made it after that one performance? No doubt Alessandra will be a good player but he is not the finished article yet. Windass didn’t have a good game by all accounts yesterday but not many did. It could be argued that Windass won us 4 points in the two games prior to yesterday. Think people should give him a bit longer before they make judgment after all he has still only played a handful of games all season, with a bit more luck he could have had 5 goals already.

Since Windass came our away form has been shocking. He is too old to put in the workrate that we can't do without away from home. At home his touch and class has unlocked more defensively minded teams. I would play him at home but away he would be on the bench.

  3. Nathan here I currently have 3 season tickets in the RRE Stand which cost me over £750.00 I have already had to move the seat because the club didn’t think at the start of the season to cordon of seats between the moat (i.e. big and small section) of the stand. I don’t mind having to swap tickets for big matches, but when you have to swap them twice well that’s enough I think. So next season if the club don’t so anything about it, i.e. like Blackpool put a temporary uncovered stand with 2 small burger vans and small toilets in stick the away fans in there and let them get wet and cold, rather than giving them the best stand in the ground……………………. i will not be renewing the tickets if the club don't do anything...............

I agree. The Lookers shouldn't have been demolished. It was obvious when the bulldozers moved in that the project was not going to happen in the foreseeable future. As a season ticket holder in the RRE its like being a second class citizen. I know we got £20 off, but in retrospect it wasn't worth it. Enjoy going to away games much more this season, walking across the carpark each game my heart sinks it looks like a second rate non league ground. When and if the new stand is built will the evacuees get the first choice of seats as promised and does anyone know if the club have records of who the evacuees are.

Will also have to re-think next the Season Ticket situation for next season.

  4. To be fair we lost 5-0 in the last game with him. If we lose by less than 5 then surely it was all Eardley's fault against Hereford.

I thought he did well at Hereford despite everything, don't recall the goals coming because of an error from him and his passing to a blue shirt was much improved.

I think if Eardley is replaced by Lomax then we will miss him. Lomax needs some time out.

Although I am not an Eardley knocker on Saturday when Ainsworth switched wings he went past Eardley as he had gone past Lomax.

Lomax couldn't cope with him and neither could Eardley. Eardley stopped him once a got booked!

  5. I only read 3 threads

    Liddell

    Smalley

    Ogrady

    Byfield

All been slagged off, 3 of which had no real part on sat.

Shez needs to have a good look at his style and try something new.

Hughes will go, what happens then?

As far as style is concerned seem to be using Byfield as target man, but he can't hold off defenders. The man who can is O'Grady, where is he ?!

  6. its probably because if we carry on as we are, deep down we all know we won,t go up

With the resources at Shez's dosposal compared with other teams we shouldn't even be thinking about promotion. How would you feel if you were a Peterborough supporter with all the financial backing their wonderful young manager has. Just in front of Oldham !

  7. it's enough of a story to prove wrong those who say that TTA are pulling out.

Standard paragraph under the Companies Act, all the companies going bust at the moment will have these statements in their last year's accounts.Means nothing, Latics accounts in the year before Chris Moore pulled the plug had the same paragraph to comply With the Companies Act

  8. It's because a lot more people are now thinking do i want to give up £50 plus per week of my hard earned to pay for the family to line the pockets of petulant tossers who've never done a day's work or is there something better??

Unfortunately it's now paying bills, petrol, food etc. Football needs a reality check soon - think it's coming!

Tbh watching teletext videprinter has its moments.

I totally agree. As a family it cost us £60 last night and I am usually fairly realistic following defeats but last night felt cheated. The performance on the pitch was dire lacking passion and application. I know TTA are putting in a fantatic financial commitment but a low priced admission would have got a better attendance. The game was set up as a Johnstones Paint equivalent where we always fail miserably. Has it not dawned on the powers that be that we don't play well in front of low crowds at BP. It shouldn't be the case, but it is a fact and not just a feature of the Shez era. Good passionate crowd = good performance.Make us all pay top price = low crowd=lose=lose prize money= lose potential good cup run revenue= lose Taylor.

Who loses the loyal fans all round, now and for ever. Big reality check looming for next year's season ticket sales.

  9. my memory tells me we were on a losing run until he got injured, we then picked up markedly as soon as he was out. we enjoyed a much lower loss percentage without him, then we promptly threw away our faint play off hopes on his return? i very much doubt im wrong.

one thing im not to sure on was did we also set a club record for going unbeaten without him? or go very close to doing so? that might be my brains version of justifying opinion!!

I agree he was bad early last season remember Accrington when he got booed. That was how bad it got and it wasn't a one off bad performance. His best performances Leeds ,Tranmere are against immobile strikers,he can't cope with mobile attacks like Hartlepool and Yeovil. It is interesting that the Leeds/Tranmere model is more successful in the long run in this division, but not against Gregan. So with Gregan in the side maybe we are going to do better against bigger strikers and better teams and trip up against lesser teams.

  10. Crying out for plan B yesterday there wasn't one. Ormerod runs the same channels as Hughes, then Hughes doeasn't know where to go. Plan B involves O'Grady, but it is a bit difficult when he is at Bury. Some one to plat long to that can hold the ball up, he has never let us down.

  11. Jones looked knackered after about twenty minutes today. 4 games in 11 days certainly showed with him.

Jones has looked knackered in every game I have seen him play. He is not the answer at fullback. Stands off too much, doesn't tackle and is too one footed.I know we wanted some balance on the left but he is a luxury, when the going gets tough he doesn't cope

  12. Have you lived up to your expectations so far?

I really thought we had a good chance of winning the league this year, by this point I'd expect us to be in the top 6, so yeah I think we're doing okay just a bit deflated in recent weeks.

Who has been your best player so far?

Chris Taylor - So obvious to see why he's being doubled up on by opposing players, he's given a lot of teams trouble and scored a few goals too.

    Worst player?

Kelvin Lomax - Gets turned so many times yet the opposition have yet to make him pay for it so it doesn't stand out. Lomax would not get ino the first team of any of the top 8 League One teams, he shouldn't be in ours.

Best team you've seen so far?

Leicester looked strong and very dangerous on the counter attack.

    Worst team?

Cheltenham, didn't cause us any problems....at least Hereford forced Crossley into a few saves and had one cleared off the line.

    Your best performance so far?

The last 10 minutes of Millwall or Leeds, I'll say Leeds because to go to Elland Road and outplay them for much of game and defending well again them considering their attacking players (Beckford, Robinson, Becchio and Showunmi) takes a quality side and we showed that quality.

Your predicted finish based on what you've seen so far?

    6th

What % of games have we won with Lomax playing, how many have we won when he hasn't started work it out

  13. Thing is...we've not seen that...since Jones came in we've not been anything like the team before. Sad to solely point him out, but the enforced changes were necessary (ala Gregan's suspension, Stams injury) but IMO we were fine at LB. Since bringing in Jones on that Friday night at Stockport, it's gone badly wrong. Reason being, IMO, Jones isn't a LB but a LW. My team on Tues would be the one that got us top...

    Crossley,

    Eards/Hazell/Gregan/Lomax

    Lids/Allot/Whitaker/Taylor

    Hughes/LA

And Jones would be a great player from the bench.

I agree about Jones he is not a full back. In 3 games I have not seen him put in a tackle. Stands off and allows too many easy crosses into the box. Cut off the supply cut off the danger. Wolves have had him out on loan last season and have shipped him out quickly this season. Something wrong not going to make it unfortunately.

  14. Anyone else seen this report today from the Pools?? It's based on a large number of factors, which makes for interesting reading (sorry if this has been posted already elsewhere)...

    achievers report

Meaningless piece of work statistically. Given that the starting point was 1992 we were always going to be underachieving. However we are only in that position because at that random point in time we were drastically overachieving. All it means is that we are not in the same position that we were in 1992 which is obvious.

  15. thought that was his best game this season, just needs a goal.ktf.

Yes I agree. Just a bit rusty at the moment. once he gets a few games under his belt and scores a goal will be

off and running. At the end of the day he is a confidence player and he needs to be playing with that confidence.
