Someone on here (can't remember who) suggested this a while back:
He's tall!
He's Blue!
He isn't Dr Who, Matt Smith, Matt Smith!

Knock 10% off for pensioners and kids and you'll be close.
Fair point - still looking at a good £100k though - not bad at all!
-
1st Round £18K
2nd Round £27k
3rd Round £67.5K
4th Round £90K
£202,500 Prize Money
£138,000 TV Money
+ 40/45% of Gate receipts excluding VAT etc… from the 4 Ties
Kiddy Peanuts barely £10k I'd say
Donny about the same
Forest £25/30K
Yesterday £45k?
Cup run including Everton game is well on course to net us around Half a mill in unbudgeted income, yes we need to survive off the field but loosen those purse strings and lets survive on it too….
Gate receipts yesterday:
10000ish * £25 each * 0.45 = £112500!

Corney obviously joking if he said that...

Won £60 odd off a free bet, will more than take that!! What an incredible day!!!!

Which begs the question of what the fourth official is actually for.
Refs have too much to do to record time accurately. I favour a Rugby League-style hooter system, which is based (I think) on three independent timekeepers.
All 4 officials keep time. Not especially difficult to start and stop your watch when play is starting or stopping.

This is the FA Cup 4th Round again Liverpool for Christ's sake! If you can't get up for this then, seriously, what on earth is the point of supporting Oldham?
Get down to BP, bring your voices, and pray for a miracle - playing at an even colder than usual BP in January off the back of a horrific run of form, against a team who'll be thinking it will be easy and will have 1 if not 2 eyes on the Premier League - this is what the Cup is about! Keep The Faith!!

Not exactly ridiculous to compare at all - basing it on 8 games is perfectly acceptable, especially the Penney one.
Sheridan is even better to compare to as we were safe as you say, the manager still lost his job.
So why so patience with Dickov?
Don't get me wrong I think it's sadly time for Paul to go - but just comparing the short term runs of form is silly - the context has to be taken into account. A team that had been flying high all season expecting promotion which suddenly hit a run with 10 points in 24 would be looking at sacking their manager whereas we'd be sitting comfortably in mid table off that run.
-
Interesting Stats from the past... Managers last 8 games before the sack...
Sheridans - DWDLWDLL
Penney's - WLWDWDDL
Dickovs - LLLLDLLL
Take what you want from those...
Dickov Out!
Ridiculous to compare as all were in different situations... 8 straight losses at the end of the season when already mathematically safe but no chance of Play Offs wouldn't mean too much whilst the run we're on now does!

100% bring it!

Joslin?!? When did he last referee a game?!
They'll tend to get a local ref to do the inspection if the match ref lives too far for it to be worth travelling just to call it off.

I found him irritating to be honest, don't think there was any suggestion that the players weren't heading over there anyway, just taking his chance to be heard on TV
Rubbish, how could he have possibly known that that comment would be picked up underneath the noise of the crowd and commentators?

I may be being really thick but I don't understand what the £200kpa actually goes on?
-
It wouldn't be fair on all past season ticket holders, they should be retrospectively given a bacon button also.
-
I know highlights don't tell the full story, but it looks as though we should have had a couple. Was it that bad? Thought I heard them being clapped off at the end on LP. Maybe my ears are going a bit funny.
Think a fair number were applauding (no complaints over effort from my part, certainly)... definitely no boos!
-
As long as you had enough st/ stubs for the tickets you wanted, one thing that has just occurred to me is that the 4/5 lads on front of us also bought kids tickets,.whether they had what they needed or whether there's a bit of a loophole there I don't know, I wonder whether kids tickets will be checked against the age of the supporter visually or whether it'll be tear the stub and away you go......
I think they're using this stupid club system there... tried to use an Uni/NUS card (that is, a Photo ID literally from my University and the Students' Union saying I'm a student) but apparently that isn't enough proof...?!

You know, I listened to the Brentford commentary on Latics Player.
It seemed to me that we played some decent football, had much of the possession and whilst they felt confident that they could hold on to the win felt that we had a few good spells of pressure, sounded like Winchester ought to have equalised just before HT for example. I
couldn't make this one but are we being hard on the team because it is yet another home defeat? did Brentford look that comfortable?
Sounded like we did create a number if chances that on another day could have gone for us - same old story? Their commentators felt the main difference was Donaldsons finishing!
Exactly how I saw it. Perhaps not as many chances as we'd have liked but several went just the wrong side of the post or forced a good save from their keeper. That said, no totally clear cut opportunities which is a worry.

So probably around 1000 extra today ?
They'll be back for one more game ( Liverpool ) and then ride off into the sunset again after that today.
Another missed opportunity. After the Baxter news too.
The feel good factor lasted all of 5 mins.
Wish you lot would stop putting everyone who can't attend regularly in the same 'plastic' boat. I've been supporting latics as long as I can remember and was a ST holder for several of those years. I started Uni this year making it somewhat logistically (and financially) impossible to be going to games regularly. I came down specially today in order to get a ticket for what will be one of the biggest games I'll ever have seen at BP having been born just after the glory days - off the top of my head only City in 2005 and the Blackpool play off game would be able to compete. I've never seen us as anything other than a league 1 side (and generally a poor one at that) yet I've stuck with Latics - but I get classed as plastic?!

Singe might of meant the link that Metty posted
Yeah he meant my link
Sorry Singe, didn't follow through on the link that metty posted assuming it was the statement.

No mention whether you get a free ticket or not!!!!!
The club would like to set the record straight on this matter by confirming that, as always, match day staff will be permitted to enjoy the game without buying their own ticket as part of the club's commitment to them.Err yes it does?

Brilliant post HDGS.

The cost of the tickets is an issue to some, especially the concessionary price -= note it's not just kids paying over the odds it's OAPs and Students too.
ST Holders can only get a ticket each, meaning that their mates they go with will have to queue separately which is no biggy imo but the fact that groups that go together unless they are all ST holders, voucher holders or pay on the dayers means that they will be sat away from their mates/family/kids…...
There are a few mumblings of discontent and I wonder if this could actually affect the attendance, especially given that the game is live on TV and that may well sway a lot of the day-trippers and stay aways….
For what it's worth I think we will sell out and then some, but bearing in mind we couldn't sell out a Play Off semi-final (twice in '02 and '07)
Student here. Frankly I haven't though at all about the price as the game is more than worth that for me (don't forget that we've just had our Student Finance payments, we can delude ourselves that we can actually afford stuff for about a month ;-) ) - all I care about is my chances of actually getting a ticket given that I'm obviously not a ST holder and that I can't make it on Saturday...

If they did provide support in getting a new stand, I really couldn't care any less about whether he's doing it out of the goodness of his heart, or for political points, or because the ghost of Osama frigging Bin Laden had told him to do it!!
