  1. We've put up with what exactly?? A trip to the play offs in a season where we punched above our weight and a season where though it looks like we will miss out, we are there or there abouts despite a crippling injury list and poor crowds. Now is the time to back not sack
  2. He did you are correct he was outside of his near post so got his angles wrong - but the striker was already through 1 on 1 meaning they had already got through for a strike on goal, our keeper made it an easier finish. However to blame him is harsh as Millwall beat another 10 players to get to that position thats all. Mostly he was solid enough
  3. O'Donnell lost his bearings and got the angle wrong but to be fair it was already a 1 on 1 situation so the forward already had the chance, O'Donnell just made it easier to finish. Apart from that he had an ok game with a defence that he has never played behind before. It wasn't his fault he didn't win and to be fair the 2nd half was a decent performance from a reserve team with a couple of first teamers in it
  4. Or maybe he is trying to aleviate some of the pressure on the young players by telling them not to feel the pressure of expectation - players enjoying their football tend to play better, players feeling the pressure(particularly inexperienced ones)tend to go into their shell as happened in the last third of last season eg Eardley(last season). I don't believe any manager with his team are only 3 points outside of the play offs with 8 games to go and hopefully senior players to come back decides that the season is over. We need players enjoying playing this weekend which everybody knows could be make or break
  5. everton was the closest for a while - i think it will take time but i honestly believe we have a chance - just look at hull and stoke and portsmouth who were in the doldrums for so long - even barnsley get 11,000 at home now. Stick with it hopefully we'll get to the championship in the next two years then who knows - bring it on wednesday 3-2 was amazing but Southampton 2-2 at the dell the year in the littlewoods before was the best ever for me ritchie 2 goals in the last 10 mins including the 2nd 4 mins in injury time to equalize. Then 2-0 at bp on the next tuesday night now i am showing my age - oh well going now as have to feed the next generation of latics fans, or one of them, got to do my bit
  6. I am with you on that - I want to be beating man u at bp again - 1-0 neil adams i think hopefully i'll get to see that again keep smiling
  7. It sort of is at the moment with the premier league - look how close Leeds, Coventry etc have come to going out of existence. All I am saying is that we are building in a controlled way and we probably over achieved last year - I want the club to get up so much but we need a foundation to do it on - hopefully the redevelopment and income that generates will be it. I understand the frustration and my wife hates it when we lose because as I am always in an rs but i was just trying to give a perspective on the disapointment of losing today and blaming everybody doesn't help so I had a vent at people moaning. Its easy to support a big club or a consistently winning team - we're not there yet but have move forward from 3 years ago and are at least trying to do it playing football thats all.
  8. I am to btw - 3-0 at luton isn't good btw I also have no sleep and a 6 month old baby so maybe thats what was behind the vent. Football hurts
  9. we all get frustrated but then hopefully a sense of reality sets in - it was the same in the late 70s early 80s with Frizzell who had taken the club forwards from the brink of extinction to old div 2 but we were then always fighting relegation. The same people were there giving Royle stick in the early 80s. Even when we won the old Div 2 but were crap at Blackburn and Oxford people were questionning his team selections. Reality is its cyclical and at the moment we are more stable than we have been in the last 5 years and have a chance of improving season after season. Last season we punched above our weight. We still have a chance this season, if not nextseason may be the time when we are ready for an assault on the league. Meanwhile enjoy the fact we still have a club and so much potential with the davies, smalleys, alessandra's, taylors, eardley's and wolfendens ktf - remember Shez brought these guys through
  10. I'd go for Hazel as well - am a little worried we might get done for pace but we'll have to see. I think Hazel has been the signing of the season and Gregan is apparently looking trim so it can only give us a lift
  11. yep but alongside stam or hazell - does he miss 1 or 3 games for the sending off today
  12. I'd keep Lomax in - I thought Livermoore gives us a bit of cover in a number of positions so he can fill in and allow Shez to change the game around him. I think as an attacking fullback Lomax is doing well - however I also think we need more experience on the pitch because we do struggle against physically stronger/bigger teams
  13. maybe he went for damage limitation - he doesnt seem to fancy wolfy certainly not for 90 mins. Maybe its the way he trains or he is too quiet or not showing it in the reserves. I really don't know Quality finish against vale though
  14. I think we struggled in Jan to get our targets - at that stage we needed a striker and a creative midfielder and a striker - we are still struggling in both - but I'm not that sure there are that many about of the calibre we need. Hughes injury is unfortunate because I thought he was getting sharper. Constantine deserves a chance and I thought looked ok against Tranmere. Now Allot is out I think Murray would be a good call, and if Livemore is fit and still there which I believe he is then there is a slightly different dimension. An experienced keeper is needed and I think you might see that happen next week Hopefully we should be ok, there is a long time to go and as Joe used to say the fat lady hasn't even warmed up yet. ktf
  15. mmm - ok then - more money, lets have a think about that one Chris Moore More commitment - expand?
  16. I hope this is just emotional knee jerk reaction because it doesn't stand up. We are a small club that struggles at times to get 3,500 home fans - we have a squad that is capable of challenging for the play offs still(ie 3/4s of the way through the season) and we are still moaning. The back room and previous reserve team manager were obivously doing something right or else we would not have coped at all with the injury situation that has presided over us. The club lost its first choice physio to City, the next one didn't work out and they are trying to recruit. Shez has gambled on keeper cover because upto 2 weeks ago it looked like Les would be back. We know he went for Kasper Schmiecal and didnt get him so he brought someone in to cover a game. Unfortunately it didnt go our way. God help us if we were in the relegation zone or were Forest - sort the expectations out and support the management(including the owners without which we wouldnt have a club - remember)and team as they work to put Oldham in the play offs for the 2nd consecutive season. We are 3 pts off !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Vent over
  17. Personally I think that Shez has had to get a keeper who has at least played a league game - he then has a week to look at this guy or source some more experience. I don't think it would do Josh Bell any favours throwing him on for his first league start in what could be described as a pivotal game in our season(2 pts behind the play offs). If things did go against him it could cause a lot harm for a rookie in a confidence position. Just my opinion but I think Shez is protecting him and giving him experience of being in the squad first. I would think however if the play off chase becomes unrealistic and as we are secure in the league you will see him get some starts to bed him in.
  18. A dark dark dark day Top job Wayne - hopefully they'll see sense and realise the contribution you have made to keeping the kids and mums and dads at BP
  19. HEH Jacko if your going to do it at least you got a worthwhile sending off rather than a dissent one And he was a c*ck glad I kicked him first half for a big lad he bottled it quickly though so fair play, and you had a great game until then so all in all the lads beat the bin dipper whereas you just beat a bindipper
  20. Sounds like William should be going soon already on his second kit. Jods(my wife)misses the latics so I think it may be a family season ticket next year His best is that he giggles when we sing "oh when the blues" Cheers for the feedback tho appreciated, sure they'll both at boundary blues meetings before long
  21. So was he/she ok at 10 weeks with all the noise(I know what noise, should I say maoning) - I have a little one who is 6 months old but has not been yet
  22. I'm a season ticket and struggle because of my location to get to night games at BP. I purchase the ticket because I want the club to have the money regardless of whether i can get there(though I do see 90% of Saturday games). The club needs the money to move forward. This is my commitment to support the club though I am aware that others may struggle to support the club in this way and support in other ways. If the club can raise incremental funds by allowing one off supporters in on the day of the game for £5 or however much and it creates a better atmosphere then it should be encouraged and is a "no brainer" really. Just my opinion
  23. I'm with Big Fin here, he did well first half and scored the all important 1st - tired in the 2nd half but was starved of service and support as vale dominated for 25 mins. I think we should sign the ref tho for the assist on our 2nd killer goal ;-)
