  1. I quite enjoyed yesterdays game, there were some fantastic bits of football from us in the second half. The only reason I think people think it was a bad game was because Tranmere were so poor. Like Les Parry said, if the Tranny fans got behind there team instead of chanting 'Parry Out' for 40 minutes then the result might have been different. The only player who failed to live up to standard yesterday was Simpson - but we all know he's our best player so there's no worries.

I might be being dramatic but that game may have stopped us of being dragged into a relegation fight. Tranmere are now 4 points behind and we have 3 games in hand on them. To me a lot of the tension was taken off us with that win. Play offs? Probably a bit out of reach but nothing is impossible. We've got to win our games in hand and concentrate on beating the teams around us.

  2. We've just got to focus on each game coming. If we start to look down we'll panic and do what we did last season - fall into a relegation battle.

    The next 5 games are:

    H - Tranmere

    H - Colchester

    A - Sheff Utd

    H - Scunthorpe

    H - Yeovil

The home matches are all teams that we tend to beat, obviously it's not in the bag but if we play like we can then we should be looking at roughly 10 points from them matches. That would leave us on 45 points with 13 games to go! We need to carry on playing as we are (apart from Franchise) and look at the positives of recent games. Furman and Reid coming back into the team will help as will the £15 deal with the fans getting behind the lads.

  3. Hmm I hope this doesn't mean Mr Dickov is leaving. I thought about him taking the job when Clark got sacked, I still believe he won't go. The pressure at Huddersfield to go up is phenomenal. He'll have 16 games to sort his team, motivate and turn things around. With the money they have they'll want to get a man in who's experienced at a promotion chase rather than taking a punt on someone who has done well on a budget.

  4. The thing that makes me uncomfortable with Mike Newton (having never met the guy) is his over confidence with his position in the club. I think people don't know how trustworthy he is and why he and Corney fell out in the previous time he was here. I'd like to see him come on OWTB and do a question-answer topic with the fans to create an open relationship with the supporters. If he's comfortable going on the training ground with the players then why not come on here?

He might be a really nice guy who has some fantastic idea's as to running the club better, or he might be a crafty swine who just wants to make a quick buck. I think clarity on his situation is needed.

  5. I'm staying put in the RRE.

    - Next to the away fans = more noise

    - Bar available

    - Bookies available

    - No stanchions in the way

The atmosphere against Southend was great in the RRE and we all know the acoustic problems of the Chaddy compared to the RRE. It seems to me as a step back to move into the Chaddy especially with people who will want to sit in their seat and not expect a group of 'ultras' bringing a drum and blocking their view etc.

I'm all for creating an atmosphere but in the Chaddy - not for me.

  6. First of all I was never Blacks biggest fan at the start but he's grown on me as a young left back. Lee is a great defender but his right back skills are wasted on the opposite side. I've heard rumours at recent games (no good sources) that Black was caught drinking in Oldham the night before the Liverpool game and that's why he's been left out. If its true then missing the Liverpool game was a good enough punishment.

  7. Is it only me that is getting mightily pissed off with people counting their chickens? We've two games to play yet against a team that may be struggling in the league but have had no such problems in the JPT. Wonder how you'll all feel if we lose two or three nil on Tuesday night?

    One word: WREXHAM…...

    Or WRECSAM...

Whilst there is a certain feel of expectancy amongst our fans - confidence is a good thing to have at the club. If we don't beat Chesterfield over 2 games then we don't deserve to get to Wembley. The players are good enough to get there and i'm sure Dickov has reiterated that we've got a tough task in front of us.

  8. Hartlepool play Carlisle that day and with both teams out of the cup, that game will go ahead. Colchester play Leyton Orient, so that game cannot be brought forward either.

The two options for 28th January are to bring forward the home game against either Walsall or Scunthorpe. Both are currently Tuesday night fixtures and both now have free dates on the 28th January because their scheduled opponents will still be in FA Cup action.

After a huge January and a big cup game in early February, we shouldn't be aiming to bring forward any games. A week off before playing Chesterfield will do us very nicely indeed.

Tom & Luca are here till the end of January on loan, not till the end of season as reported by the beeb. No report on whether Clarke is available to us, unless i've missed it somewhere?

Is this just the case of getting them available for tonights big game and then sort out the other details next week or are we going to miss some key players in our 2nd leg to Chesterfield?

  10. Hmmm where did I last hear players were being rested in the FA Cup against little Latics?

I don't understand where he's coming from - blames others for undermining the competition then himself undermines it and his opposition by dropping his best players. If I was him i'd just play the best team, it's not like they've got Europe to worry about. I should imagine that they've got their eyes solely on City in the League Cup Semi.

    Dare to dream? :OWTB1:

  11. Probably our worst player, he's lazy and is bringing the team down. Take him back and he will probably cost you promotion so it's best leaving him here so he doesn't cause more harm to your season that is already slowly slipping away.

Also we have no money so there will be zero chance of a fee being exchanged if we have to have the displeasure of keeping him - which would be a terrible shame.

    On your way now...
