Lundstram was subbed as he was carrying an injury from an earlier challenge. Hopefully okay this weekend.

Ward is back in training and is available this weekend.

Raglan should come in as Hogan will be out for at least two games

As for Dickenson, Gardner, Willoughby, Nuttall, Freeman… your guess is as good as mine😮

Led to believe just one more week for Ward and Dickinson to prove their fitness before they’ll be ready / considered for a return.

  2. If both of our recent shadow boxers, McGahey and Hope contribute to another positive result on Tuesday night then I might just post something really positive about them both on here. 😉
Hope was magnificent at Spotland on Saturday and McGahey was solid allowing the midfield four to maraud forward in support of Norwood.
The front five contributed four goals between them, with only Lundstam missing out and he nearly made it a knap hand himself but he should really have just put Norwood in.
Between Mellon and Muzza, the shape and personnel they chose really did work out on Saturday, so I’m really confident that they can keep the momentum going into Tuesday and beyond. 🧡💙

Tonight was very underwhelming. I thought first half we were ok, had we have been ruthless infront of goal could’ve been 3-0 up at half time. Unfortunately that’s football and we were only 1-0 up so it was time to go again.

It seems to be a common theme that players drift out of the game in the second half, Green/Dickenson for example. Is it a fitness thing? Thought Hobson was excellent tonight as well as hogan who, in my opinion, has had some unfair comments tonight.

It’s unfortunate that Lundstram had to come off, and even more unfortunate that Gardner/Ward are injured because Shelton does not complement Sheron’s playstile whatsoever. When Lundstram can play 90 minutes every week I feel we will be a much better side. I thought Tollitt and Nuttall contributed absolutely nothing. I do feel like Mikey would’ve had a better impact on tonight’s sort of game. A dead game lacking aggression, tenacity and abit of quality and I know mikey is very capable of displaying those attributes whereas Nuttall simply looked disinterested. Norwood was disappointing. Sutton displayed some great quality at times and worked hard but too many basic errors for my liking. I do feel like the recent fixtures have distracted us from Thompson’s managerial weaknesses.

For me the recruitment process should start properly this week as I feel Thompson will be out of his depth come the tougher games (Dale, Alty(x2), Woking, Barnet)

Stand out for me is the total lack of numbers who so far this season have 90+ minutes of fitness in their legs for Saturday, Tuesday, Saturday fixtures….

Drive from central midfield, we have Gardner and Lundstram who so far have managed just 2 full games between them.

Out wide, we have Green and Dickenson who often look goosed by half time yet the bench is usually geared towards freshening up the forwards when they themselves seem to tire after an hour.

Ward is injured, Tollitt and Hope are bit part players and that’s about it, our squad depth is therefore unbalanced and lacking strength in key areas.

If you want a striker to come off the bench and make an impact on the game, I would choose Fondop 100% of the time over Nuttall.

  4. Rhino simply conceded his own tactical ineptitude at 2pm today by naming 4 strikers as subs.

No thought process required there, other than to use a couple of them to give us some fresh legs up top as the game wore on.
On such a hot day, starting Norwood up top on his own was naive and amateurish.

Maybe Hope and, or Tollitt could have offered us something different but it would seem that he took the easy way out because he’s simply not tactically savvy enough to make these strategic calls.

As a result of this, only 2 subs were made and it ended up looking like we were playing a 4-2-4.

    Totally bizarre IMO.

  5. Until Raglan offered himself to the club, Rhino had his two centre halves set in stone, with Sutton as backup.

We would have setup 4-4-2 or 4-3-3 depending on the opposition because he more or less said so at the fans forum and even alluded to the possibility that Sutton could play full back.
Signing Raglan has changed the whole dynamic of his defensive mindset because, it would seem that he hasn’t got the bottle to bench one.

Why does he feel the need to play the 3……in a 5?

There’s not one player in our squad who should expect to have the god given right to start. Rhino needs to hammer that home.

Indeed, Raglan is a great signing and our squad depth is significantly improved.

We crave for depth in our squad but prefer quality over quantity.
We will have that once a RB is added.

That should allow for a starting 11 who are all specialists in the positions they play along with a strong bench which can offer like for like replacements when necessary.

That said, we should never ever see the words ‘square pegs’ and ‘round holes’ mentioned again!
