Surridge and Lang:
So refreshing to see two strong, mobile and pacy youngsters express themselves up top tonight.
Hope Frankie gives them the start they deserve together on Saturday, we could be out of sight before they need to be rested! Why not? What's there to lose?
-
Is it too early to give Andy Rhodes any credit for Daniel Iversen's performances?
Recent results with 2 consecutive clean sheets would suggest not.
With just a very mild dose of reservation I give kudos to Frankie for us going 4 league games unbeaten, but lets recognise Rhodsie for his contribution to this.
A loan transfer window still to close and two winnable home games to come, let's build on this forward momentum we currently have, both on and off the pitch.

agree sick of hearing 'fold the club'
As for the morecambe keeper, shame Barry Roach has been suspended, - hes absolute gash
Bunn has to go for the win against these, especially infront of 1699 tics and Kasunga is God. (Assuming he / she goes)
Are you Brian's son btw?

Nope I think one more to come in.
Hopefully, and facilitated by Duffus going out on loan.

To date, and on league position:
1st Shrewsbury - unbeaten
2nd Wigan - unbeaten
4th Charlton - unbeaten
17th Oldham - unbeaten
Paul Hurst, Paul Cook, Karl Robinson or Richie Wellens?
Remarkeably, 1 Town and 3 Athletic's!
Is our Richie the only rookie manager in there with a shout and would he really want it!?

You got that mixed up. Shirtliff didn’t want to let his current employer down. The other previous assistant at Man Utd was too expensive.
So who is Shirtliff's current employer?

Might be something in this - we do seem to have lost the shot-shyness that we have had in previous seasons.

Queensy seems to be doing it.
Fane obviously didn't hear him.
Thought he'd have a blast when he 'wandered' into the box and, from close in, he just didn't shoot.
I love the messy work he does for us, however, he often pops up in an advanced position and if this kid can get us a goal or two, his confidence will soar and he really could kick on.
He's proved that he's got a 95 minute engine, and I would trust that RW will develop Ossie's potential to improve his all round game further.

Latics 5 v 4 Posh = Kusunga is God
Latics 3 v 2 Posh = Placide is God
Kusunga and Placide are Gods?
Yeah!
Is Placide more of a God than Kasunga?
?

As far as debuts go, they just don't get better than that.
His performance tonight was every bit as good as any of Connor's last season (Millwall apart) and that's saying something.
Johny, welcome to the Latics first team, long may your wonderful form continue.

Let's forget everything that's been going on, take an army, get behind every single player (AND STAFF) and show this agent that we are worth investment!
3 points would be nice too...
'AND STAFF' ??still chuckling big time ??........

Pick one up pal.
Allegedly, the new cards are now good for discounted purchases from Tesco, Costa Coffee, Nando's and KFC.

What was the final score?

When I spoke to Andy Barlow a few weeks ago, he was scathing in his assessment of Gerrard and his lack of fitness. But maybe he doesn't like football.
Says he who invented the 'Puddin' on a muffin' meal ?

Bumped for a timely reminder of the following:
Players offered new deals have (allegedly) just 7 more days to Decide.
Brian Wilson
Paul Green
Temitope Obadeyi
George Edmondson
Chris Kettings
Deadline: Wednesday 31 May.

Baddiel and Skinner's Fantasy Football show did a lengthy feature on our Pete most weeks; but Skinner's Chum Jeff Astle, well he just walked on at the end and did a song.

I did say historically, but yes BB, I agree that last season was the exception to the rule and still to this day I cannot fathom what that was all about.
However, before that, it did seem that contrary to what was said, we had no control over the timing of what ultimately seemed to be that the majority of players left for reasons which probably meant more £ elsewhere.
The 5 involved this time seem to fit collectively with the momentum of progress we are seeing under Shez, rather than have individual standout ability which would significantly improve another team.
they are not Prima Donna's, they are valued team members and as such should commit ASAP for the good of Shez and the rest of the squad.
-
Historically, when players have been offered new deals it seems as though their decisions have taken an age to be confirmed either way, despite 'deadline dates' allegedly having been given.
We have become used to the club commenting on individual player's futures along the lines of:
"We are still waiting to hear from xx despite the deadline date having passed."
"He has been offered a contract on reduced terms and we are still waiting to hear from him."
"xx is still on holiday but we are hopeful of a positive answer on his return"
"We believe xx is looking for a better deal elswhere but we still hope he agrees to stay"
I accept that Winchester was always an exception to this, but it didn't surprise me.
Wilson, Kettings, Green, Tope and Edmondson: No messing about with this lot, I expect they will all agree terms by the deadline provided and Shez can then crack on with further recruitment in good time for Tandle Hill day.
-
Indeed ?, not complaining though ?
-
Port Vale 5/2 to win at Coventry on Tuesday night! I think that's quite a generous price.
Latics are 9/2 to beat Sheffield U, and they are currently offering us at 3-1 for relegation.
-
Anyone who is out of contract that Shez doesn' t want.
Robbo should be at the front of the queue?
-
Surely you know that it doesn't take much to annoy our messiah. What an odd thing to say.
-
Lets wish him well
Hope he does well
Landed on his feet there to get another management job so quickly. But wish him well. I don't think anyone would doubt that he works hard. Hopefully he has learned from his mistakes with us.
This is NOT good news in my eyes.
Come on, It's alright to wish him all the best and all that but how will we feel when he returns with his shopping list and poaches our boys on a either a 'free' or for an 'undisclosed fee' for next season?
Shez must be fuming, he's not daft so he will see this coming.
Sincerely hope Simon steps in sooner rather than later to smooth things over.
-
Before tonight's game, how many of us predicted both Erwin and Taylor would start?
Conclusion: In Shez we must trust, because really, he does know best.
