  1. we were playing Sunderland at home in a 2-2 draw, remember leaving the chaddy at 4.50pm hearing the tannoy announcement that the Liverpool SF at Hillsborough had been delayed due to crowd congestion. No mobile phones or Internet in those days so I watched in horror when I arrived home as the real truth emerged.
  2. Then he passed me on the A627(M) at 5.16 pm. Shez obviously didn't lock the dressing room door preffering to send them all home for an early night - after all, same 11 will be sent out again on Tuesday night to repeat that similar amount of effort.
  3. Would you be satisfied if there was NO more transfer activity? I'm sick of hearing rumours and I'm sure the players are.
  4. My mate has just text me to say he's just seen Craig Davies at the service station northbound on the A74(M) near Gretna. He was on his mobile - had he realised or not? That was one wrong turn you made Craig!
  5. Taylor scored a cracking goal Today which meant so much in terms of the timing of the goal and the deserved 2 goal cushion re established. He celebrated with passion as we all did and as CT always does.
  6. Let 3 in. Clapped the Chaddy at the start of the 2nd half. Had a laugh with the Chaddy during the 2nd half. Prolonged applause to Chaddy at final whistle. What was that all about?
  7. Didn't we sing 'nice one Maurice' to Whittle after a stunning free kick? Wonder what he is doing now?
  8. This result didn't surprise me. We were under pressure to win. Some players are unsettled by transfer talk.(Hughes,Taylor maybe Eardley) and some are unsettled by recent performances and...TRANSFER TALK - Left back, right back, midfield) roll on Feb 2 with minimum disruption and we can all CONCENTRATE again ala Aug 2008 - Dec 2008. Seems the uncertainty of the transfer window has rocked the boat and our boys perform better during the NO THREAT period of the season - our squad has too many ? Marks at this critical stage of the season.Just a thought (or an excuse).
  9. .........and Gannon has said to Owen this evening, "...before you leave us for good, you WILL be playing against Oldham!" Tight B@st@rd!
  10. . I read in the last few days that County had recalled Owen from his loan at Vale. Can anyone confirm?
  11. Will he repeat his victory with another KO or will this one go the distance?
  12. My mum had a new Hotpoint 'toploader' washing machine delivered that day and the Popman drove round our street for the first time selling a multitude of varieties of Ben Shaws and Barrs Limeade, Cream Soda, D&B and others which we rarely see today. Guess the year - a wild guess at 1978.
  13. Lidds, Whitts, O'Grady, Lewis and ? or ? Which 2 can cover the the back 5?
  14. there will be someone sat in my 'reserved' seat when i arrive at 2.55pm!
  15. Thank god it did'nt matter - Maher tried to make his late late late tumble make up for the ref's ignorance of the stone wall pen on Taylor, ref stood I to push, HOW DID HE MISS IT?
  16. Chris Taylor - David Fairclough / Dirk Kuyt Dale Stevens - Steven Gerrard
  17. Maybe not but what will O'Grady do when he scores?
  18. Hawley has got a second month with Northampton and Anyinsah goes to Brighton. With Lidds/Smalls and Tayls/Jones knocking in the crosses does that make fancy dan Davies redundant at the expense of goal poachers Hughes and Ormerod?
  19. we could host a Glastonbury style event on the Clayton fields, erect a big screen and and allow camping.....
  20. I had 'Mouldy old Dough' played at my Dad's funeral last October....Franny then played it in dedication to him at the next home game....it has always been our anthem and i hope it always will.....
  21. mmmmm, interesting, Bill Oddie was born on 7th July 1941 in ROCHDALE!
  22. Following on from the famous fans thread, I can't help thinking about the Bruce Foxton lookalike who used to stand behind goal in the Chaddy and bellow ' Come on you Laticssssssssssssssssaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa' - I haven't seen him at BP for years but he knocks around the Spotland Road area of Rochdale....does anyone remember him? I also have a famous lookalike who sits near me in the Chaddy - Its Kevin McLeod from Grand Designs - perhaps he's weighing up how BP could be architecturally improved. Any more?
