  1. Looking at the elbow was it not just unfortunate?

I have seen many a worse elbow than that I think it just hit Hume in a weak spot,

yes he should get a red card 3 match ban but it was harldy worth a long term ban

    just my opinion though

I'm sure he looks across first, and he doesn't need to jump or anything so there is no need for his arms to come flailing out - other than keeping opposition players at bay, which is what he did!

  2. Not good enough! Not for this level...let alone at trying to get us up a level...

Arber and Branston both played plenty of games when fully fit.....you could make a judgement that they weren't good enough. Thompson played for forrest in league above i believe, and tranmere fans thought he was a decent player. For me, you can't make a judgement on the fella untill he's had a chance fully fit. Something he's been unable to have since he signed.

  3. For me - lomax has to play at left back....i can't remember ever feeling that he let the side down. He's been dropped when in all fairness, there was no need to drop him. This has happened to Lomax on a number of occasions and to be honest - i feel a little sorry for him. It's one of Shez' decisions that i disagree with...

The same thing happened early in the season with lewis. He was playing well with Hughes, the team WAS scoring goals and the only reason that Lewis didn't score was a lot of bad luck. He, like Kelivin, was dropped for O'grady and then Davies without really having reason to do so.

I don't dislike Jones, but as a left back i don't rate him at all. If he's going to play anywhere for us i'd prefer him on the left. Shez did start a game with him there and Taylor on the right but that lasted 10 minutes (albeit down to injury) - since then, it hasn't been tried again. Why? Did he see enough in those 10 minutes?

Somebody mentioned that by dropping Lids, we'd lose crossing ability. I agree that taylor struggles from the left with his crossing. For me, his best crosses come from his left foot when he swings his foot at it. Once he's cut back onto his right foot, he tends to have more time (which doesnt alweays help) and he has a almost dead ball. If he was charging down the right - i think his right footed crosses...at pace...would be excellent. He'd also have that extra option of cutting back onto his left after a couple of years experiance. Russel Slade constantly told his defender that Taylor always cut inside which is the case where he is. On the right - he could go either way.

I'm a big fan of Liddell - always have been - but i feel that now he can't gain that yard, he struggles to get any crosses of quality in. If you go back through the season - i would imagine eardley has put in as many crosses from the right as Liddell. Most of them after lay offs from AL becasue he no longer as the pace to pass his man.

    Just my two cents

  4. I think we have to get smalley and wolfenden out on loan....surley someone would take them...at l of east untill anuary with a busy set of fixtures coming up - maybe we should see if Barrow want any of them....the way i see it is if Hughes and Ormerod are starting, then davies and lewis must start in the reserves, so any others wont get a game - we dont have regular reserve games anyway!

On the Davies front, i never made my mind up with him last season - i didn't dislike like, i didn't think he was a great player. When he performed his antics at rochdale, i actually realised how stupid he is. Yes, he's working hard now to make up for that now but when he gets the ball, his control is poor and he has to work hard just to get the ball down. When we have possetion and he's off the ball, he doesn't seem to know where to go. Hughes and Ormerod instinctivly know and run into positions without thinking about it. That aspect cant be to do with confidence....you either know where to go, or you dont.

In response to Lewis, i think that he would get more than 10 a season with a good run. So far, he's been unlucky a number of times by either snatching at good oportunities, or being unlucky by having a couple blocked on the line from close range. I think he believes in his own ability and with a goal or two, he'll look an even better player and he'll score....i think (not 100%) is that he scored quite a lot of goals at reserve/youth level.

  5. We've had a few different strike partnerships this season so far...davies and hughes has been the choice of late, and now omerod has arrived to stake his place. So its a simple question - whats our best strike partnership?

For me - Hughes and Allessandra, although i'd like to see lewis knock a couple in.

Davies today worked hard enough but at time his close control is woeful. I've also noticed that when hughes is about to win a header, or is looking for a pass, davies doesnt seem to know where to go. Omerod looked ok today, but i think he'll be on the bench for at least first few games.

  6. Hazel - 6 OK Wish he wouldnt take free kicks

Stam - 6 Good . no mistake of the day today.

How can someone be ok, and the next fella be good yet still both get 6's.....i thought hazell was outstanding for large parts of today, reliably backed up by stammy..

    Crossley - 7

Eardley - Much better second half - 7

    Hazell - 8

    Stam - 7

    Lomax - 6.5

    Smalley - 7

    Macdonald - 8

    Allot - 8

    Taylor - 8

    Allesendra - 7

    Constantine - 7

  7. Wolfie gets 10 mins max to make an impact generally with rank service. Can't really see where he has had a proper chance.

Far more likely to get a goal than Smalley

Yeah i'm seeing people say wolfendens had his chance - i gfail to agree. Wasn't Wolves away his first start? I'd like to see how many times he's been on the field with more than 10 minutes left. It's hard enough to get into a game in that time never mind score goals regularly. I agree that Allesendra needs a chance too but if eitehr was to go out on loan - Lewis would be the one
