I'd take Harrison Male from Dorking. Very impressive.

Better still just sign Stones permanently.
You know that if we do then his dodgy knees will fall apart by the end of August...

Surely they aren't thinking the slow season ticket sales are down to the matchday facilities?, now I know you need to queue up from quarter past three if you want a pint at half time but the only thing anyone is really concerned with is what's happening on the pitch. If that continues as is they won't even have this to worry about it and much of what will be heing requested in the survey people have been asking for for months if not years.
I recall this survey as being almost word for word the same as last year. I think it's taken as read that success on the pitch would be attractive

My memory of him is an early season fixture in the FL Trophy when he partnered ironically Edmondson at centrehalf against Carlisle at home, Burgess was hands down Carlisles best player even scoring an own goal in a 5-4 defeat in which we came back and should of won but lost to the ten men Carlisle with a late Charlie Wyke winner, if I remember correctly Burgess remained in he team and Edmondson was made a bit of a scapegoat and promptly shipped out on loan to Alfreton and didn't play for us again for quite a few month.
Both have done very well and it probably demonstrates why it's unfair to write youngsters off particularly goalkeepers and defenders who develop both physically and mentally with age. Remember when Tarky used to get pelters and you had some 'judges' on here claiming we'd done well to get 300k out of Brentford. He's not done too shabby for a player with no pace.
Lordy, people claimed that was a good deal; from Brentford? I mentioned Reckord vs Lincoln as possibly the worst individual performance I'd ever seen. For its level I'd put Tarky's game v Preston live on telly up there with the best.
-
Can't say I remember much about Burgess' time here. I'd assume in the absence of any other evidence that he's made significant progress since then. Hardly unusual for(then) young player to do so

This thread reminds me how many people used to get Cameron Dummigan and Jamie Reckord's names wrong.
Shivers... It would be a competitive contest but I'd put Reckord's performance vs linco9ln in the FA Cup as right up there as one of the worst I've ever seen

I'm sure there's a story (think Owen referred to it when he appeared on BPAS) that the club cashed in on the sell on clause to pay off debenture to Blitz in 2020...
Could it have been a good deal? He went to Ipswich in L1 for an undisclosed but reported to be c. £1m fee after losing his place at Rangers for being a bit of a d!ck. If our sell on was based on the profit Rangers made it can't have been huge. How much was the debenture for?

I dunno if my memory's fading but i have absolute no recollection of Cameron Burgess.
Liam Kelly also played for Coventry in the game.
Harrison Clarke didn't feature in the game but has played 55 games for Ipswich this season and last. He started there as a youth player
-
Ipswich's winner tonight that puts them very close to portion scored by Cameron Burgess, assist credited to George Edmundson

Yes I’d like to see more coming through. Maybe we’ll see a few in action pre season.
Again, can only be perception but our ability to recruit youngsters must have been further compromised by the last few years and the demise of the academy (hopefully temporary) won't help in the longer run

I dont disagree, but having said that kofi moore looked absolutely lost when he played this season
As per my earlier comment, so did the entire team that day. For reasons which have recently become apparent (if not very clear!)

Of the ones that have broken through to play for the first team, its very mixed bag.
In the last three seasons we have had:
Kofi Moore
Harry Vaughan
Junior Luamba
Benny Couto
Vani da Silva
Isaac Modi
Will Sutton
2 still here
2 playing higher up (one we received money for)
3 playing below
Luamba doesn't appear on the Salford first team squad list on their website

Many got snapped up before they had played a game for us. Emmerson, Simms to name two. I know we sold a young (12-14yo) kid to Liverpool in last couple of years and one to Newcastle but names escape me. Dare say there have been others. If and a big if they come good can be worth a lot to the club. Not sure how its structured whether it was a clean break and those monies go with the lemmies or corney (whoever owned the club at the time) or if it still comes back to oafc.
But none have broken through anywhere. I know Simms is a local lad but I don't think he was ever with us was he?

My take on the failure to try out youth platers in the first team. I have no views on an individual players as I've never seen a youth team game.
Mellon should absolutely be aware of what we have and see it with his own eyes
He has no track record (I don't think) of pitching in youth rather than relying on experience. I suspect this is one leopard who won't change his spots
Presumably he was advised that Kofi Moore was ready for an outing at senior level as he's the only one that's appeared. As he looked totally lost then maybe he's assumed that the others aren't even at his level. However, it now turns out that his 'trial' came in the wake of Barnetgate in a terrible team performance so who knows what effect hat had.
I'm guessing that even at our level there it is still a big step up from youth football on a park pitch
I may be wrong here (often am) but I don't think a single player from our youth system has made any great impact at a higher level since Tom Hamer. (Vaughan can be argued for but the best he seems to be managing is sub appearances in L1). It really does suggest that we've struggled to either attract or develop talent in recent years
it may be the case that we have some decent prospects and regardless of what he thinks I do have respect for BP's experience but it does seem unlikely that a conveyor belt will be shifting youth team players to the first team squad any time soon

Palace in for a defender from Peterborough for in excess of £15m. Barnet get half of any fee
