  1. Quiz done ... Brizzle general knowledge, the life and times of Dave Penney and 'secret' rounds

I'm on Andy's team. We won fair and square on the way to Norwich a 15 months or so ago...

  2. Right, I'm getting bored of trying to organise this now. You 3 are all going to come and get the 6.30 back on your 3/2.

I'm going to suggest the 1045 from Paddington as then it's only 15 mins before socially acceptable drinking hours on a football day...

  3. I'm on the 10:00 from Paddington, which gets to Bristol Temple Meads at 11:39.

Then I'm on the 22:30 from Meads, which gets to Padd at 00:33.

I'm guessing that train back is a bit late for many, especially since the tubes will have just about stopped running by the time it gets in, but for me living in west London it's ok.

Dave said he's driving and staying over. He's going with his Georgian mate who came once last year and um, his dog. He was setting off at 8:30am

Do we have a pub where we're all gonna be meeting in at that end? That Sporty AnnieLennox one sounds like a common choice.

Sounds good. I'm going to be on a 10ish trian to Parkway. Al and I will be around in Brizzle until a silly time so you'll have some company waiting for your train. That is unless the local police take exception

  4. Well I'm game. I think Mark is being a bit of a grumpypants...

He's always being a grumpy pants...

Nervous_Tic - what trains are you on? Do we know when/if Dave, Mike etc are travelling?

  5. I agree ... but will young Alex :o

Alex as a rail card so I suspect he'll do it that way. Need another really, otherwise I'm not bothering.... just to expensive and I want to get the 6.30pm at the latest back.

Why can't you use 4/2 as 3/2. I think I'm likely to stay over so not too sure how it's going to work out as everyone has to travel together don't they?

Having said all that, if you wanna come back at 630 it sounds as though you're readying yourself for a rubbish day out anyway...

  6. Do we know who is going for defo ? Me, you, Sam ...........

Prob best to not count me in your 4/2. I might be staying over. I need to work that one out but am happy to pay more if there are 4 others.

    Nervous_Tic was keen.

  7. Great idea *thumbs up*

    Any more for any more?

With Strike it Lucky a portion goes to the winner so not all £8 will go to the club... You could of course donate the winnings if you win though so you may end up donating more.

As PlayerShare is basically an extension of revenue, you could always make a one-off donation to that. Or just go to the ticket office and buy a ticket for £2 and dont take the change

  8. whose that grinning on the touchline?

    whose that ruining your club

    it's Dave Penney and men

    and they're ****ing up again

and the Rovers won't be scoring anymore

Am I the only one who quite likes this. Get it sung on Saturday. "Don't ya wish your right back was Kieran Lee" made an outing at Charlton. It just needs enough sherberts.

  9. That's not really the point though, is it?

I suggest we play in a nice cerise, or puce, or mauve.

Is the point that you made a massively over exaggerated comparison and then you've decided to use colours most blokes don't even know exist to demonstrate it ;-)

Agreed to some extent though. We've hardly been distinctive for years. Is the problem with the design that it's Nike? They're never going to make our kits surely (unless I've mised something?)

  10. Idiot :wedgie:

    :tongue1::drinking:

I don't dispute this. They must have had other motivations. They may generally have wanted the club to succeed knowing that higher gates in a new stadium would make hospitality and other attractions more viable with increased publicity. It also kept the masses content until now though. 7 years isnt bad for asset strippers ;-)

  11. What are the chances of Arsenal or the FA being in existence in 10 years time? Pretty high I'd suggest.

What are the chances of a club that has already come within a whisker of going out of business being there in 10 years time? Slim, I'd suggest. I'm sure the bankers would take this view of it and rightly turn down any mortgage application. Any sensible person would.

That would depend on what business took on the loan. Would it be the freeholder of the residential / commercial property on the remainder of the land or the football club itself. Remember any development was intended to improve the financial strength of the club. This would be reflected in the loan application.

Eventually, everyone will realise we are being shafted. Big time. And the reason why there was no plan B is because shafting us was plan B.

  12. Yours is the positive view. Is the asset at risk regardless of whether or not someone has a charge against it? If the losses are being footed by the owners, they are the only ones who can lay claim against an asset in the result of non-payment. They're hardly going to do this are they?

I would agree with you if they shortcomings were being funded using bank loans charged against the asset but they werent. They were being funded by the people who own the asset.

  13. i really dont want to say 'i told you so' but i refer members to posts i made some 18months ago regarding the future of our beloved club.

My first footy match at BP,countless saturday early get ups,the royal reign, the plastic pitch, roger palmer, chaddy end mayhem /(top left corner). Those days have gone and are not coming back,im so angry but at the same time resigned to the fate that awaits us.

A slow death because if the board think a move outside town will bring anything other than that, well,im not of the opinion they give a toss.

    gutted.

I don't mean to be a pedant but if we're going to remember the good times, can we please spell the name of a legendary manager correctly. Joe Royle NOT Joe Royal
