  1. Its difficult to say sometimes against higher opposition how good/bad players are on a particular performance but there was definately stand out pluses and minuses for me.

Attacking wise - Croft for me will do very well for us hes got that ability to get a good ball in the box constantly that we havent had for a while and on top of that he works hard. Left wing is still an issue, in one sense we look more solid as a midfield 4 but mark out Crofty and we dont have any real attacking threat. Hopefully if teams go for Crofty say doubling up on him it'll create space elsewhere but out lack of supply options is definatly a concern.

Slew did ok, took his goal well peeling off his marker when everyone else went towards go, didnt see much of him second half but that wasnt his fault we tended to go more long ball when the pressure was on and couldnt play to feet as much. Hopefully in league one he'll get more time and space. Still a couple of strikers short, Matt Smith was his usual self, got in the right place but cant score for toffee. You look at the bench when we are losing and theres not alot of options....if either Simpson or Slew got injured we'd be knackered.

Defense wise - our dear. Well mvoto I like, always have strong as an ox, cracking goal. Tarks is a big problem, same issuses as last season. No real strengths, average at best. Not strong enough, not particularly fast and poor positional sense. He's a liability. Byrnes could well be too, hes strong and pretty sound in the air but hes sooooo sloooow we'll get murdered time and again down that right wing, he'll be an obvious target. I like Grounds though very solid.

If you look at that game tonight as an opposition coach you'll say we are hard working but if you keep up the tempo, mark out croft and attack the right back with pace you've got good chance against us. Maybe play Brown at right back and Cliff at centre half might be a better option and get a left winger in?

    croft is FAT .........END OF...............

  2. My view like it or lump it...

Cisak...one mistake..it happens...I wish we had Kirkland tonight

    Byrne ok..old sod..steady..

    Mvoto..ok

Tarkowski...kid learning his trade.....good and bad..cannot blame him..

    Mchangawamba ?..out of position..

    Weslowski...best player..all effort..70s porn star moustache..

Slew.......ok but lost the plot..no service...

    Furman....ok

    The real villains....

    Simpson.........Bertie big bollocks..senior player...went mising..Chris Taylor with a shorter haircut

Croft...................FAT FAT FAT waste of space....ONE cross

    Thats 10 players.................

Now who is totally missing ? Cannot have done much

...............Lost the plot after 30 mins...thought the job was done.................Something needs to change big time

    NOT GOOD ENOUGH

  3. Who wouldn't want to have their picture taken with Mike Milligan?

    LEDGE.

Me for one. He couldn't get out of the place quick enough when we were relegated from the Premier league. A relegation he was part of. Would have

thought more of him if he had made a comittment to try to get us back up like Danny Murphy did at Fulham.

Him and Henry were terrific though .....Yard Dogs

  4. It's obvious to everyone , that without Simpson , Wes & Furman we are much inferior team.

But , does that excuse the first half , not for me.

Stringing 3 passes together looked like splitting the atom. No fire in the belly & so very ,very dull , with no efforts on target.

Second half better & Kugi not making it 2-1 was staggering.

Yet another boring , lifeless performance , far too many players happy with putting a top performance in every 3rd or 4th game imo.

I thought Reid was terrific in his first full game back & Morais tried very hard yet again , as for the rest ...

    NO BECKETT............SIMPLES

  5. feel for tom tonight as what should have been such a great and memorable occasion for him is now memorable for all the wrong reasons.

the irony though of oldham fans chanting "just a town full of racists".

i am so angry about that................life and attitude changer

    pricks

  6. What a disgrace Liverpool FC are, defending that scum Suarez and now it appears that rascist abuse was aimed at Tom, he looks devastated and is now being booed every touch by the scum in the Kop

    Shameful, shameful club

When LATICS WERE CR@P in early 70s...decided not to go to away games....so me and a couple of tics used to go to Anfield alternate saturdays...

always had a soft spot for liverpool.........until tonight................they can rot.......I am an old sod who will crack a joke about c@@ns

n@@gers....because of my age.. I know its wrong..but no harm meant.......

    Liverpool fans out of order

Club out of order...should be relegated to Conference

  7. I was there too - top find mate..

I was there too...13000 in there ...about 8000 from Oldham........was at the other end saw the free kick all the way. I had forgotten how good

a dead ball man Mo was. He could hit them hard but that chip was a beauty. Where is he now ? Please dont tell me he is dead.

The same day as Denis Laws backheel that sent United down

As a post script when my wife was expecting our first I said if anybody scores against United I will name my kid after him...it was Maurice

and the wife would not have it. Called him Matthew instead

Was surprised to see Keith Hicks in that team..Mulvaney was the regular centre half..must have been injured. Paul Edwards...legend.

  8. seem to remmeber the chaddy being a mass of pushing swaying bodys as battles raged too and fro accross the wooden floored area at the back .was a lot worse than the shenanagins with the wendys .if youve seen the coverage of orgreve during the miners strike was similar to that .tics charging from oneside then falling back then noblot doing the same was crazy .the only time i was thankfull my dad made me sit on the wall at the front of the chaddy .

The great old days IMO..........atmosphere........today nothing

Was it a Christmas or New Year game when we had nearly 30000 ? won 2-0 with 2 in the last 2 mins

  9. Local economy was screwed long before this..........I was Platts time served and mates of mine Ferranti time served..so dont go on one on this subject with me.

Just how many local people (from Oldham) that is do you think work there ?

Get real. If the site becomes available do we ignore it because of "the blow to the local economy" or do we go tits up ?

    Screw FC United

  10. Read that Citys owners are looking to build a Mini Las Vegas around Eastlands......

The return of Belle Vue is long overdue..bring it on......

As a side word...what an embarassment for English fooball tonight ?

    Not stopped laughing :)
