  1. Not read much about the latest ticket prices...however, what I do know is that our current failings within the club to promote us is not helping our local appeal.

1st of all, I was quite disillusioned at the fact the club didn't offer the last 4 home games, starting with Tranmere and Royle's 1st game, for £60 (or even maybe £50). The club have sorely lost out on money here...those who would have been there for the last 4 home games would be anyway...whereas on the back of all that euphoria back then with Joes return and still in the playoff hunt, we could've had money in the bank regardless of our dying swan act! Instead, we had a pisspoor attendance for Crewe and I dread to think what this one will be today!

So to the next real opportunity...

When I see adverts for other things, say like a flight abroad, I often see the word "from".....and also, I see the little * which states to me there are conditions...why don't we EVER use this in promoting ourselves. I've mentioned this in the past when you could get in the Lookers Paddock for £16 but most people walk about quoting us as £20 to come and watch us.

So please, please, please can the club now promote our club's season tickets under the heading "from £233!*" with the disclaimer that the price applies on a discount basis should 4,500 be sold. Coz if we do that...you never know what might happen...we might actually shift a few, even if we don't hit 4,500!!!

Because it's illegal to do so. The * with T's & C's attached would be valid if there were at least some full price tickets being sold at this price.

Your idea is valid though....and along those lines, they should actually be plying the line *From £50....which isn't illegal!

  2. I think I've moved enough for the old man, I am staying put. I guess the only time I've got totally pissed off and told the weak bladdered tool he did move seats for the remainder of that match. Have you ever known anyone to piss as much? He must miss a third of the season in the bogs, add to that he's usually late.

Aye, if we had a couple of strikers who covered half as much ground per match as he does we'd be up by now!

  3. I'm not a regular drinker (these days) but will be meeting a mate from Peterborough next week and the plan is to go for a pint before the match.

I live close to the centre of Royton.

Can anybody recommend a pub that's child friendly and away fan friendly within a mile of BP?

The Greyhound is where you will feel most at home with the criteria you set out.

  4. The sentiment is nice, but the facts are that Royle ain't no miracle worker. How he did what he did when he came here first time around, was by spotting talented players who were surplus to requirements elsewhere and playing them to their strengths. There are just far too many clowns in the present set up who Royle would never have signed in a million years and we're not in a position (even if cash were available) to start rebuilding the team at this end of the season. Frankly, it's a pipe dream....albeit an entertaining one.

  5. First half ok, missed penalty, Windass hit bar, Smalley should have had another penalty and nothing much off them.

We came out second half and instantly the game had changed.

They missed a clear one on one after a couple of minutes then scored 2 goals and looked like the team in the top six where as we just gave up and not one person earned his wage in the second half.

As Hereford a couple of weeks ago a lack of motivation and and a terrible attitude.

    Whats going on Shez?

Two average teams......two coaches. Work it out.

  6. ive never been sure about smalley always seemed a bit lightweight and nervous for my liking but over the last few weeks i have changed my opinion, he has been brave with and without the ball and although he is a long way from the finished article he is improving week by week, he has also run his tripe out in games over the last month and a half.

tonight was not his best performance but in my eyes he was the best latics player (not difficult), he wanted the ball and at times he was the only player with any movement

so credit where its due, keep it up dean!

I reckon like some folks resemble their dog.....your avatar must be :censored: spot on!!

  7. I can cope with losing at home to Bristol Rovers, i can cope with an awful performance. I can cope with poor tactical awareness from team and bench and i can cope with the most ridiculously obvious substitutions being overlooked for the :censored: that Shez decides to go with.

What i can't cope with is professional footballers in my teams colours bottling out of every 50/50 challenge in every area of the pitch except Gregan's. Bristol were organised, well coached and once they realised how :censored: scared we seemed of them they abondoned the obvious 'come for a point' mentality and stepped it up enough to win easily. They could never in a million years have expected it would be such a 'men against little boys' type of battle.

We have not the slightest chance of reaching the play offs with that level of committment at the business end of the season.

  8. I would say I'm a fan of the St Louis Cardinals for instance.

Interesting that......i watch the Detroit Tigers a couple of times a year, likewise the Chicago Cubs and the LA Angels. I have merchandise for all three and i do have a 'more favoured' team amongst the three but in neither case would i call myself a fan.....just a Baseball follower.

    Semantics i guess.

  9. 3 nil down and still 30 mins to go, mine weren't blue I can assure you.

.....and with still roughly half an hour to go Julian Dicks smashed a thirty odd yarder against the crossbar.....which had it gone in, i remember fearing could have resulted in a total capitulation by us. Also remember the West Ham fans were vile that night on the way out. Dodgy place when you've just denied 'em a place at Wembley and you come out singin' yer 'eds off!!

  10. Very sensible.

How long have you been an electrician?

I know the game you are playing here LL! You are trying to find out if i'm wet behind the ears and consequently looking to reduce my argument to nothing by deduction of my age range. I know very well that one's argument is only regarded as important if i am seen to be of relatively 'experienced' years.....so.....Oh, since I were a lad in short keks!

  11. I think the red card was aimed at 'otid', who I think we should now all cyber bully.

That's not fair....i may exercise my right to report that as abuse.

Oh, by the way....nearly forgot.... i'm an Electrician with no qualifications to speak of.......as i understand this is information required in order to validate ones argument.

    isn't it ? ?
