I hate doncaster. Scummy Scummy Scumsters. Remind me of Wigan, new ground, no history, loads of billy big supporters. I hope we stuff them on Monday.
No history? er, yes they have.
New ground? what's the problem with that?
Loads of billy supporters? Not really, they are still fortunate to get over 8000.
Yes they have a financial sugar daddy. So what ? Name me a club at this level that wouldn't want that level of backing. And the TTA are putting in millions to us.
Hate Doncaster. Fair enough. Why not because they're from Yorkshire though?

It was my intention to lift the gloom.
Don't let Coco hear you saying that!
-
Is this not the case at most (if not all) new stadiums these days..summat to do with crafty turnstile operators pocketing half the proceeds?
Think it's the same at the New Meadow - Shrewsbury

No Worries, I am a big boy with nice thick skin, I wasn't having a pop at you either just that I am pig sick of coming on here day after day after day to see someone or other having a winge and a moan over every sodding thing that happens down at BP.
Hear flipping hear!

Thank you Maskeed Owl for your considered analysis.
The insight into how a player may or may not have developed for us based on , as you say, less than a full match, is a skill I do not have.
If only those folk at Coventry had known how rubbish he was - and would be forever apparently - then he would have had his contract ripped up immediately on his return.
-
Yeah I agree......but he was rubbish.
You make my point.....
-
And Ben Turner is now featuring frequently for the first team and is also well up in the voting for their Young Player of the Year.
Love it when somebody makes a mistake in one game and is then rubbished.
-
They are all long term injuries though, i think people are more concerned that little was done to replace them. We have been very unlucky with injuries no-one can deny that but we didn't really replace key players when perhaps we should have done - hindsight is a wonderful thing though!
Besides most people say Gregan, Lids and Crossley are past it and shouldnt be playing for us anyway!
"Most people" ? Some.

hughes must be lovin it pissed up every night round diggle and getting paid for it give me a job I can do that
What an obnoxious and ignorant comment. Makes one yearn for some form of legislation that ban people from having access to a keyboard.
-
Perhaps go to the games because you support the club..........? Truly support that is.
-
Or maybe Hazell at RB, Thompson (poss even Greegs) at CB. We may have options in a week's time! (sorry if that makes me seem too optimistic)

One factor will be where ST holders from the Broadway stand (upper and lower) are relocated too. Income projections for ST's in RRE or Chaddy will be lower than in Main Stand - at least for Broadway Upper exiles.
There'll also be calculations that , for the matches where massive away followings can be expected, there'll be less space for them. So lower gate recipts.
Next season's pricing has more complexities than normal . Having said that, I certainly don't expect prices to increase.

In the late 60s matches against Stockport always saw loads of trouble both here and at Edgeley.
And a there was always a rivalry between Latics and Wrexham for some reason - at least on the terraces.
-
Excellent news! I'm far too old to be seen shaking your wing but you are part of the Latics fabric . Long may you roost.
-
thats true to a certain extent.
but isnt it the managers job to build a team and squad to cover most eventualitys??? shouldnt the manager and his team have enough players in the squad to cope with injuries.
Have you heard about budgets, wage caps etc?

Another example of 'fan friendly oldham athletic'. 10 mins before half time i left my seat in the upper section of the new start mortgages to go for a coffee. I went down the steps and through the door into the kiosk room. As i walked throught the door a 'steward' told me to turn around as i couldnt use this door and i had to walk uo the steps back accross the front of the stand down the steps and through the doors opposite me, even though i was actually stood in the room!! The steward acted as if i was about to trespass onto the pitch. We go to every game, most away they should be showing a bit of appreciatoin to the the fans that turned up tonight not treating us like petty criminals.
The point about stewards not acting sensibly is well made. But to turn that into some form of sarcastic criticism of the club as a whole - "another example of fan friendly Oldham Athletic" is unnecessary and inaccurate.
Yes the club makes mistakes but it has a good record of listening to, and responding to, its supporters. There's a constant dialogue with Alan Hardy, Gordon Lawton, Stu Vose , Barry Owen, and TTA. It is a friendly club, it does appreciate the supporters and it is one of the better communicators in the league. As an example of this check out our website compared with most others in this division. More news, more explanation, more updates.
Stewarding is varaiable to say the least at grounds - and maybe some of the Latics won't win steward of the year. Let the club know in a constructive manner and there's a chance it will improve.
p.s. Going for a coffee ten mins before HT? Miss a few goals if you do that every match!

Quality I wonder if i can do that after all I've seen more births than most people on here (none of which were my child) and I've got more to see. Shame i can't wear Oldham scrubs, just have to make do with my Oldham key ring on my stethescope. Admittedly all it will do is give some Geordies/Mackems some soft spot for Oldham.
Maybe you could surreptitiously whisper "Up the Latics" in their ears?
-
I was at my son's birth and made sure I was wearing a Latics sweatshirt. Get the messaging going right from when they first open their eyes!
-
i really don't see the point of this.
-
Well bully for you , you miserable barstweard .
I will so and so will my son.
-
where it all went wrong...lost last 3 matches of season 1914/15 to miss out on league championship then world war one started...I blame Ronnie M**re
No, it was the Kaiser . And we were showing better form in the late 1930s and guess what - Germans kick off again.
-
I'm afraid at was at all the five most recent lowest attendances - your first list. They were dire days. But I was also in the 41733 v Liverpool in 1962, the 27888 v Peterboro in Div 4 in 1961, and other 20000 plus gates. Our gates will rise again, as will the club.
Keep the faith.

And Jarrett was looking good I thought in the 2nd half. Really linked well with Gary Mac on the right, was making breaks into ther box etc.
