500k for a 32 year old who has been away from football for 3 years and then was injured for 1/2 the time he was back? Who only has 1 years left to run on a contract. He hardly proved he could stay fit. The facts are he was "away" for a long time and then was injured a lot when he has come back. Is the wrong side of 30, but scored goals when he was fit. I'd say £100k isn't far off the mark. - but as I put earlier I do want him to stay. Lets geta left footer in now though!

I think that he is over rated by latics fans. Not saying he's a bad player at all, I'd much rather him be here this season. I'm saying it wouldn't be the disaster that some would make out. Yeah we misssed the play offs, but Davies was out too. Yeah he scored the goal that beat crewe, but 1 goaldoesn't make someone a world beater. I do think my comments will be slightly twisted. I DO want him to stay, but if he goes - we are building a much healthier squad and can cope without a player who was injured / otherwise engaged for 2/3 of last season.

If he goes - he goes. Its hardly as if he was that important last year was it? Hardly played really. Rather see Davies and Allesandra anyway.

I´m in Ibiza - suns shining - its 28 degrees C and I have a beer next to me. normally when I´m away things go to pot, but I´m liking the way our signings are going. Hungry, young players who are out to make a name for themselves. People who´s futures are in football, not their past. Along with the odd bit of experience to guide them (which we alread have, gregan, hughes, Allott, Hazell) and this is shaping up nicely. Looking to build a squad too. So far so good for me. Left winger next please Shez.

Another big positive is he is a lad who wanted to move and play football. Lots of kids at that age are not happy being loaned out / moved on, but he is obviously someone who wants to play football.

I must be the only person in Rochdale who doesn't give two about it. Been offered to go as our locoal is running a bus. NONE of them going have ever been to a game. It really gets on my nerves. My mate is a season ticket holder and will again be wearing his "I WAS HERE WHEN WE WERE ######" T-Shirt. Rochdale arn't my "2nd" team. I dont have one, to me it might as well be Darlington vs Wycombe in the final for as much as I'd care.

I agree 100% lags. Reading the Tommy Wright interview he makes all the right noises, saying things like "It doesn't matter if you are 18 or 38, if you are good enough". Too often for me we have looked to bring in experience. I just want us to bring in quality. For the last 3 years we have had a big overhaul of the squad. Its not needed, players adding to it is whats needed and I finally think Shez has worked out that bringing 1 player on £3k a week is not as good as 3 on 1k a week at this level. (Wages were just estimates!) Onwards and upwards!

Well - We didn't put the ball on the deck most of the time. We did early on granted. From Xmas last year we starting lumping it, but I can undertsnad your point. It's just what I'd rather see.

Not for me, but thats just me. Davies is about 6ft 2, hughes holds it and brings people in as well as anyone I've seen. Ok, Davies is quick, but he's not as smart as parker (I mean at winning free kicks etc - there arn't many people thicker than parker!). Also when we have a big bloke up front, we tend to bypass the midfield and results aren't as good. But thats just IMO.

I would rather see someone with plenty of pace, a clever player who is direct. Hughes and Davies both hold the ball up well. I'd rather see someone who takes the pressure off by "winning" free kicks and gives the opposition a constant threat. Keigan Parker. But - I do understand your reasons for another type of striker.

Exactly. League one can be used as a stepping stone with Latics? But regardless... I'd much rather have players here who go on to bigger things without latics, than players that dont. It means we've bought good players who have done well with us. Much better than having players who dont.

We've signed a young keeper who has had rave reviews and a youngster from man united who turned down a deal with QPR. To be honest I'm very pleased. I know people go on about experience, but I want to see players who's future's are in football, not their past's. Allott, Gregan, Hazell, Crossley and Liddell have enough experience to offer, I want to see hungry players who want to do something with Latics and the noises these lads are making are all positive so far. Not sure sure where Lee is going to play, whether he be the creative midfielder we've been looking for is he the full back? Who knows? Signs are positive though.

My guess is flemming - only reason being he the only one we know as fact we have approached. For the Crewe amanager to say "he's signing for oldham" and two days later we are signing someone, I'd be surprised if it wasn't him. I hope it is too.

Leicester will walk it next year. Money taks in this division and they'll have a lot more than anyone lese. If leeds dont go up I think the rest of us are fighting for the play-offs. Donny /leeds Colchester MK Peterborough Brighton Leicester will all be strong
