You're incredibly blinkered and your comments contradict one another.
I don't have a ST but I come every single week and make more than half of the aways. I'm part of the 3000 that "get behind the club week in week out" yet I don't have a ST so I'm in the "go to the pub, watch your favourite prem team on the box ." category?
We have 2000 ST holders and average 3 and a bit thousand per week so clearly there are many more like me.
There has to be a way to get those who do contribute to the club just as much as ST holders a chance of a ticket for this match. It's not much to ask and it's not hard to implement.
I have also kept every pie wrapper and bovril cup since 1991 - one more ticket please.
Fair comment - didnt realise the numbers who paid on the day week in week out - you must have more money than sense!! A simple call to Ian, Neil Broady or Corney himself and I am sure the club would have been happy to do a deal on a season ticket at any stage of the season.
If there is a way of rewarding regular non season ticket holding fans then it should be done.
If not, you can have one of my 3 (or 4 if the bovril thing is validated)

Same debate every time we have a big game.
As long as the season ticket holders are looked after, couldnt give a monkeys. Happy for LFC to be given the RRE. The fact of the matter is that at the start of every season a decision is made by every fan.
Buy a season ticket, watch mediocre football at best all season and have the perk of being guaranteed a ticket for the 'big game'. Alternatively, dont buy one, go to the pub, watch your favourite prem team on the box and take your chances.
In terms of allocation suggest as follows:
Adult season ticket holders - 2 tickets maybe 3 (at least then its a real perk, empowering the season ticket holder (or shall we call them stakeholders of the club) further
Junior £10 tickets - 1 ticket
Increase prices to £27 as a one off.
If you dont get a ticket, hard luck, and consider a season ticket next time.
One thing is guaranteed - during the game, when (unless something remarkable happens) we are losing and being overrun by much better opposition, the moaning will start - 'this is why I stopped coming years ago' - 'Jesus they've run out of pies' - 'when did they pull the Lookers down?' being among the favourites.
As far as I am concerned, as long as the 3000 or so who get behind the club week in week out manage to get there, everyone else can take there chances.

Only funny thing this afternoon was the City 'faithful' who left 5 minutes before the end - probably the same ones who were 500 yards down Wembley way when Dickov scored.
Bought the title with Saudi money - Cheered Tevez after he refused to play for them for 5 months.
Cant believe they only won it on goal difference up against a very poor Man U side. Should have walked it.

my first away game remember being squashed up in the back of my dads austin 1300gt and dropping my mum and sisters in york for a shopping trip !
wasnt there a load of leeds fans there something to do with there coach breaking down ?
Amazing - my first away game too at the ripe old age of 7.
Brilliant day - will never forget it.
Great find

I did hear from a reliable source prior to the details of the injury had been released that he had probably played his last game for us
-
has it been confirmed that he's out for the season?
-
Looked about 1000 on the day and thats the figure quoted in a sheff u fans report.
sounded like 17,000 at the end according to PD.

Unless I'm totally misreading the OP, this isn't a snide jab at those who weren't there, it's a positive thank you to those who were. It's entirely fair and reasonable to say thanks to those who turn up to the "we'll definitely lose" games (and I say this as someone convinced we'd get battered today) without it being an insult to those who turn up to only those games they choose. Thanks to any fan who turns up to any game.
Jeez!
Guys - just to clear the post up for those of you who appear to be feeling a tad insecure. Just because you wasnt there today, doesnt make you less of a fan..... OK? Cant believe I am even having to explain!
For those 'true' fans who made the trip today (yes I am aware that some equally 'true' fans didnt go), then in my opinion, the second half performance was just reward for you/us. I have no doubt most of us thought we were in for a beating today, and at half time I was fearing another 5-0, maybe worse.
When the third went in I looked around and saw some of the same old faces that I have seen for years - in raptures this time. The tough times we share together make the great times feel even better.
Hope this clears things up.
-
The "true" faithful, so are you saying that and Oldham fan who didn't go today is less of a fan?
I think you know what my point is - go pick a fight elsewhere
-
Now dont get me wrong, being part of the army of fans which made the trip over to Anfield was great.
Today however outshone all other games this season. Sure, we weren't great in the first half with individual mistakes costing us dear, but the way we kept our resolve and plugged away at it in the second half was magnificent.
Congrats to PD for the tactical changes - I totally understand the 4-5-1, but at 2-0 down 4-4-2 was the right call.
What was more pleasing for me was that the 'true' Latics faithful were there to witness one of the best comebacks of our recent history. The superb diving header by their centre back, the sublime finish from Lee and the nervless penalty by Shefki - topped off with the infamous swallow dive in front of our fans.
Once in a while we will have the 'sexy' trips like Anfield, which we should enjoy, along with the Johnny come latelys, however today was one for the true fans.

quality!
there isnt one for people who write 'should of' instead of 'should have' or 'should've' is there?
sorry - pet hate overspilled onto football forum.

I was chatting with him and he was moving to the coast to sell sea shells but I can't remember where
with his wife on the sea shore?
Now where have I heard that before.................?

All you tossbags, already we were assuming we were at Wembley as soon as we drew out Chesterfield. Posting seating plans of Wembley stadium. Planning where best to sit. How to get down there.
I HOPE YOU'RE ALL HAPPY WITH YOURSELVES.
we all blame you...

Never going to a game in this poxy competition again!!!!!
We're either bored :censored:less during poxy 1-0 defeats or gutted at :censored:ty Golden Goal defeats or threaten to go all the way then :censored: it up at the final hurdle. NO MORE!
till next year anyway..........
-
Wouldn't have begrudged spending it, but i've saved about £600 ( 4 x hotel, train, match-tickets, day out on Saturday in London, food, beer etc…programmes, tat for the kids) but :censored:ING GUTTED!!!!!

For past 2 years now, Lee has been our consistently best player. But he does need to shoot more.
Besides - after a slide tackle the Mrs was sure she glimpsed a flash of sweetbread !
-
think swindon will win it but good luck shezzer
I can envisage a two footed challenge going in off Shez if Di Canio tries his antics running down the line again !
-
At least we've gone out to Shez.
Good luck to him, Tommy and Norm in the final.
-
To be fair to OP, there was some calls for PD's head in Main Upper once they scored.
Thats unbelievable Jeff
-
Matt Smith is gash and does not have a long term future in football. I'd be looking to get a striker in on loan.
There is no doubt that Kuqi is struggling. We look far more dangerous with him on though.
I'd like to see the quality of delivery of crosses improving - I am sure it will be high on the agenda in training.
-
It wasnt 4-0 tho people will always say what could have been not good enough over the two games that's why we lost
Really ? Thanks for clearing that up.
I think you get my point.
-
now dont get me wrong - that was very very disappointing.
Totally gutted.......
but come on - Please please please - no knee jerk reactions. Dont single out individuals. We failed as a team, and no one will be more disappointed than the players who have missed out on a dream trip.
Wind your necks in - On another day that could've been 4-0.
-
There's nowt wrong with Middle aged lads trying to help with the atmosphere! Don't be miserable!
If I clap too hard I might spill me bovril!
