  1. dave i apologize for doubting you a couple of weeks ago , now i can see you have got the team back on track ,and you have got the teams cofindence back and the fans too , you are the right man for the job as our manager .. well done tonight :applause1::imnotworthy::applause1:

As DP is an experienced manager, I would expect him to take as much notice of the plaudits and apologies as he did of the criticism 3 weeks ago....NONE !

I do however respect Bob for his comments.....lets just hope the muppets who disgraced themselves in the RRE after Dean Brill had a bad run of form are also pragmatic...I doubt it somehow.

As for the comments re attendance. I much prefer 3600 optimistic supportive fans rather than bolstering numbers with the moaners. Please moaners....stay away.

  2. It looks really bad... I cant remember it being this bad...ever...

I was there......support through thick and thin and thinner and thinner, as did 3500 other hardy souls.

I think it made a difference, maybe it was the constant moaners who didnt show up. Atmosphere, although hardly electric, was much better

  3. Just to say.... the Gayfarm fans are probably worse than us for getting on the players backs, especially now that they believe that they have megabucks and should be signing superstars. I have a feeling Mr Eards would be from the frying pan to the fire going there... especially if he continues the big balls attitude he seems to have adopted....

I think for his career, and our bank account, he would be better going to the champ, where he has more chance to develop his obvious potential.... and not be battered by overexpectant fans to be a 19 year old worldbeater...

    Impossible

  4. for me it aint about the recession / credit crunch altho I acknowledge for many this may be the case. I just am sick of paying good money to watch overinflated egos posture and pontificate on the pitch when all I want is good old fashioned entertainment. I dont expect Latics to win every game but I want them to put a decent shift in and entertain me and give me hope of going up !

In the second half of last season we went through halfs without troubling the oppo keeper at home - that aint right !

I want evidence we will have triers and serious players in before buy ST again - giving the Wolf a shirt dosnt inspire me tbh !

If no decent signings soon them I wont commit - think the club should also extend discount period until a few more signings have been made to allow people to see what they are getting for their loyalty. Personally I cant buy ST if dont know half the team - not prepared to fork out for a toothless team lacking imagination or entertainment.

signings please or longer discount period or else i'm out !

Btw - four years ago used to go with 9 others, 5 dropped out 2 yrs ago, 3 last year. None of these have been back - now skychair fans. When people dont renew they dont attend as cash punters in general. An ST makes us turn up thru thick and thin - so come on DP / Latics, give me an incentive or good reason to renew !

    Take the hint......have a shower

  5. We've been here before. It's a cultural thing, we will find a handful of Latics supporters willing to have a go at this - but the majority, at Oldham anyway - do not want to do it. I mean look at how the drum was recieved, and the standing up singing in general.

The matchday experience will be as much or a little as the fans want it to be, at the moment the majority of fans at BP would rather sit down and watch the game - to be honest so do I , which is fine - but you can forget all that stuff you've posted and all the Panathinaikos songs and everything else that goes with it. Forget it, it's not going to work in Oldham.

    I couldn't disagree more.

The fact of the matter is, I reckon the majority of the fans under the age of 45 like to have a sing and get behind the team at the games. Generally speaking, the more mature of this age group rely on the younger lads to start the songs off, come up with imaginative/witty chants etc. The trouble is, the current "singing section" next to the away fans at home games has been hijacked by a number of jumped up 13/14 year olds who love the fact that they can give fully grown away fans as much grief as they want on the basis they are protected by the gap in between. (real tough that lads)

It appears to me that other than "Sheridans Blue and White army" and the recently re released and equally imaginative "Big Fat Joe's Blue and White army" the songs favoured by this area are anti Man U, "Have you ever seen your d**k" and your support is "f**kin sh**e", not to mention the Ronnie Moore and Fergie songs, hardly little ditty's which are going to 1, inspire the team 2, encourage participation from the rest of the crowd

When they are bored with that then its the old steward baiting game of carrying on standing when not singing and even when the action is stopped. On this subject, to the girl behind the goal on Saturday telling the steward to f off, go and tell them to sit down pointing at the away fans, your Mother must be so proud of you.

The thing is, years ago when I was their age, I was probably the same. Difference was it was in the early 80's when you had to back up your taunts after the game. I'm sure if that was the case today, then we'd find quite a few of the "crew" might have their noses in the psp's and ds's.

  6. We have had Doggy-gate were all hell was supposed to have broken out, players being drunk and disorderly, fighting etc

I wonder what will be on here just after mid-night tonight ???

Just got back and guess what I saw ..........
