  1. You can see the bidders are taking it seriously. Bidding is currently at a bargain US $99,999,999.00!
  2. Truly gutted and upset for him and his missus. Can't believe he had the balls to play on Saturday after that. Legend. Thoughts are with you Lidds
  3. Not all Masters are 8pm Saturday kick offs. The majority are, but I think the Northern one was 3pm Sunday. Could be a goer. Even if they had no alcohol there, I'm sure it was too late for many. Me being one, drinking on the boat from the Isle of Man from 8:30...
  4. I saw some bother for a bit, in the corner on your right if you were looking at the goal with no fans behind. Seen a load of stewards going and dragging some people out. Couldn't see exactly as I didn't have my specs on! Apart from that though, no bother! They couldn't afford to not have Oldham and Burnley there, there were about 3000 if not more of the fans! Shame a small minority got a bit out of hand.
  5. Yep eBay defo your best bet. I got one off there from the day after I was born. Don't make your search too specific though, just try typing 'Oldham Ipswich', as people spell programme differently, Put Jan not January etc. Save a search for that, and get put an email reminder on it. This way, whenever one goes on eBay, you'll know
  6. Bit rubbish, but needs musts I suppose. He's young and still playing so that's good. Don't even remember him! But then again I was only 7 or 8 when he played his 3 games for us!
  7. He was pretty massive last year for Bristol City. Quite a good team to play for considering his 'frame'! Still bagged a couple of goals though, as did Ritchie.
  8. So it's confirmed Stitch is out. Who do you want to replace him? The options are based on people that could play for us that played Masters football last year. I didn't put Ian Marshall or anyone because of that, and the list could be endless! The replacement doesn't need to be a striker BTW, and I think we have enough goals in Tommy, Eyresy and Lidds. REMEMBER they can't have played for another Masters team this season, e.g. Stuart Barlow. I doubt it will be TP as he works for the club, so surely they would have asked him and confirmed it by now. A work colleague of mine works in the pub where Rick Holden drinks, and said he's not playing as the club wouldn't pay for his travel to and from the Isle of Man!
  9. Speaking of legend, he is over 35, could have been worth a shout for the Masters. Maybe next year. You heard it here first!
  10. Poor mans Michael Clegg! Only joking, but as soon as we got him, I just couldn't ever imagine him playing regularly and proving his worth. I've only heard good things about his ability though, so something must be up...
  11. Yep. Happens a lot with Masters. They announce a player, then for whatever reason they can't play. Gazza, Hasselbaink this season etc. Last season, did anyone get a programme!? If United actually had their team from that, they would have spanked it. Whether they turn up or not remains to be seen. I may have had a few bows that are strong, but I remember it reading like this. 1. Schmeichel 2. Parker 3. Irwin 4. Bruce 5. Sharpe 6. Pallister 7. Kanchelskis 8. Keane 9. Cole Might be out on one or two of those, but still! P.S. The Masterettes aren't wearing the Oldham kit, but it's Carbrini and pink!
  12. If United and City aren't scum, who are? I really think we have a great team. Bit better than last year. Young and fit, let's win it this year! I also barely remember the final!
  13. Leicester on TV. I would have had him. Bit like Lomax, but left footed so had an instant advantage! Hopefully Jacobsen will be good, but I would have chose Golbourne over him initially, but I've not seen Jacobsen yet.
  14. Might be wrong, but isn't the payout based on being unable to do your profession anymore? That being league football, getting paid for it. Lots of people get payouts and play Conference as well as Masters, but cannot go any higher. And I thought it was under 16s due to the link on the site, as I said I didn't even know he worked for us!
  15. I had no idea he was even at the club! How long has he been? It was under 16s BTW. Good luck to him at Stoke, looks like we're replacing him with ex Bury boss Chris Casper: Link Anyone seen him about lately? If he was in decent shape we defo should have had him in the Masters team!
  16. That's strange. That is actually my recurring nightmare! Horrible isn't it!?
  17. Don't complain too much. Philliskirk played 10 games for us, but 141 for Bolton according to Wikipedia. Masters rules are very lenient. They have to be otherwise some teams would not even be able to field a team. United last season, for example, originally had Sharpe, Kanchelskis etc, but they pulled out, and had to be replaced with a load of players who were in their youth team once.
  18. We have a really really good team, and I don't think it really matters who the last 2 are. I want Dux back, him and Shez sat back last year. TP? He didn't do anything last year, but they're both still staff. Can't see Holden coming this year, didn't play a lot or do anything last year. So it's pretty much the same team from last year, but I think Lidds is a class edition! People who can't play as they have played/going to play for other teams are: Paul Reid, Leicester Adrian Littlejohn, Sheff Utd Simon Charlton, Bolton Stuart Barlow & Shaun Garnett, Tranmere David Reeves, Sheff Wed John Eyre, Hull These players played Masters last year but aren't named in any squads this year: Super Sean McCarthy, scored 2 for Bristol City last year Neil Redfearn, scored 4 for Wigan last year Paul Warhurst, Blackburn Steve Redmond, Citeh Neil Pointon, Everton They've put this years squads up, so far: North West Masters 2009 Teams
  19. Voting over, they've announced on the official site it's Rhodes! Link He was second top of the poll, just. And since Gerrard is playing for Everton, seems we've got the man we wanted. One thing that makes me laugh, after the Bolton match last year, I was talking to a girl about Hallworth and Rhodes, and she replied "I always preferred Hallworth anyway!".
  20. As much as I wouldn't want him, too young. I also checked Steve Mildenhall, Paul Rachubka and David Miskelly! All too young
  21. Team Co-ordinator Gordon Lawton said: "However we are struggling for a goalkeeper so I might have to step in. At least I will fill the goal and I won't have to play with a broken hand like Jon Hallworth did last year." Link So who do you reckon? Who do you want as our keeper? Here's a few options on a poll. It's based on Hallworth not playing. Please mention more as I will have missed some! Need to be 35 or over. Gary Kelly can't play, and Pogs is too young! And I know some are obscure, but a lot of Masters players are, take United's team from last season! Goram has played Masters before, Rhodes played for Bolton last year so doubt him. Think Crossley is a good shout, with Wright. I'd love Gerrard! And NOBODY say Windass!
