  1. it aint even about paul murray anymore, it is certain peoples attitudes cos they have a significant number of posts, they think it makes them better or their views more valid
  2. as i thought, nothing to say. i dont think you know too much to even have a valid opinion. get it into your head, just cos people dont agree with doesnt make them wrong.
  3. who is talking like they have see him play? and what do you base your verdict that he isnt good enough for us on? have you seen him or have you gone purely off the fact he is playing in a poor side? absolute crap im afraid. you must be a fantastic judge of a player with your opening sentance and the way in which you think that just cos you dont rate him any more that no one else should. i wasnt going to comment again on this but your comment has really got my back up. talk about pompus.
  4. because i believe he will add to our squad now gary mac has gone. he may not even be in shez's mind so i think we are going to have to agree to disagree here to be honest, and the liddell thing is a whole other thread!!!
  5. oh dear oh dear, we already agreed that he couldnt get in the side and he didnt make much impact, i never disputed that, hence why i said previous that them letting him go wasnt an issue for me. what i was contending was the fact that you said he couldnt get in a crap side that carlisle were according to you even though they finished 8th in the season murray played 14 games. more to the point and recently is the fact he has played 32 games for gretna and seems to have gotten over his injury probs.
  6. you have answered your own question there, you said he couldnt get in a crap carlisle side and they let him go, carlisle finished 8th that season when they did that, i agree 8th isnt so crap but you seem to think so if carlisle were crap when murray was there. a little tip for you and that is to do your research before returning with half baked comments that you cant back up
  7. is this the same crap carlisle side that finished 8th in the season murray was there and the one that has gone on to guarantee themselves a play off spot this year, oh how i long for a crap side like that! interstingly he has played 32 times this season for gretna!
  8. no he isnt as good , he is however better than most we have got imo and just cos he played for us in the past so what!!!!!!! he will strengthen a weak looking squad, even more so now gary mac gone. again it is my opinion then we were a better team when he was last here than we are now. carlisle getting rid doesnt bother me in the slightest, it is all about opinions. my point is he will increase options in the squad, end of. if that is me looking to the past then so be it but one word comes to mind when thinking of whom me may or may not get(and murray may not even be in frame) and that is realism.
  9. i think its laughable that people use his injury record as an excuse for him not being as good as he was any more and therefore not wanting him back. if that is the case then dare i suggest that we get rid of most of our squad, some of whom have had quite bad injuries and been out a while. he isnt getting any younger no and no he isnt the same classy player we had, but nor are we the same team. imo why not try and get him on a pay as you play deal, we wouldnt lose anything then.
  10. and to be honest yes, i agree with that. i think losing gary mac is a blow, and if we could make some kinda deal for jj then great, he has shown he could be quite an asset to the club but i am not too sure that will happen for whatever reason. even if it did i still think murray would add depth to our squad and for me that is what will get us out of this league.
  11. please.....we are in the 3rd tier of football, imo Murray is better than most of the players we have on our books already. I respect your opinion but who in your eyes do you think we can attract here to get us out of this division? I would be most interested to hear.
  12. A quality player imo is Murray, i am not one of those who think it would be a step back. We need to be realistic and realise that players like Murray are pretty much the top of our limits in terms of players we are going to attract here and i cannot understand how people can say he would not add to our squad. Not sure it's such a good idea to expect him to be the same player he was at the beginning of the 2000's but he could certainly offer a lot more than the likes of Lidds or JP and i doubt he would want much more than those 2 and his contribution in my eyes would be so much more worthy. I would be delighted if he was to come back as i think he would really strengthen our squad no end.
  13. also i just want to say that i dont like the idea that people have that it will sort the majority of our problems, it wont cos money we have recieved in the past never has done and why should it be any different. i just hope if it it does come off that we dont go daft with wages etc and get us in aposition like a certain ex chairman who suddenly realised he had, had enough and did one.
  14. you have mis-quoted me somewhat, i never said it would not be good thing, i said it would not be the end of our problems to being solvent or a recipe for mass investement like it appears some people on here think it will be. i also wanted to make the point that its something we shouldnt get our hopes up on. if it gets pumped into a stand that could take god knows how long to build then i imagine there will be more than a few disgruntled people on here.
  15. no disrespect but we shouldnt be thinking that the possible sale of micah will solve all our problems, it wont. if he does go and we get 4million then i doubt we would see more than around 500,000 ploughed into club, yes that is substantial for us but having read Blitz end of season statement i think the rest would be put towards the new stand and attempts to balnce the books. it just seems a bit of a false dawn, by the same token if he doesnt go, are we doomed? I doubt it very much
  16. my fault, didnt make myself clear. i used the word ludicrous in context of a previous poster saying that the apartments that were slated to be built would only sell for 80,000-100,000 and he made the point that the fact that more houses were now being considered would actually fetch more money. he may well end up being correct , it is just my experience that a house will not always sell for more than an apartment. thats that cleared up!!
  17. thats my point, you cant not round shaw, royton or most other palces so thats why the figures just wont add up for the tta's initial plans. im assuming they will be looking to do something similar to the baldwins close estate in royton and i have just sold an apartment on their for over 140,000 and its just 2 rooms, the houses on there have actually sold for cheaper in a couple of cases, so financially the figures wont add up now they have palns for houses instead of the 600 and odd luxury apartments.
  18. im assuming you have never tried to buy or sell an apartment based on those ridiculous quotes you mention,. ludicrous springs to mind. there will be a shortfall on the scaled back plans without question.
  19. what parents, i saw so many kids wandering around on their own, dunno if it was a schools thing and god knows where the adult supervision was.
  20. cant see that to be honest, was packed with kids who probably all wont come again unless there parents bring them and i didnt see many of them with their kids today, good to see the kids there though and even if it puts a couple of hundred on attendance in future then its better than nothing i spose.
  21. I take everything you say on board and im envious of you in the fact you will not judge Shez or any manager based on their results. Fair play to you, you have more patience than most which is not detracting from you. What i will say and its an often heard cliche is that football is a results driven game nowadays, and we are no different. I dont think there is any harm in people wanting to see a little more from us given that Shez has been here 3 years and we have whatever way you look at it , gone backwards this year.
  22. it would be interesting if you quantified what you would consider a succesful season for us next year! im sure as hell not going to be happy paying to watch us finish mid table yet again, for me that is failure. realistically we have regressed this season, whatever the reason is it is plain fact and as has been debated on this thread elsewhere the table will show that. we havent been good enough and there in no getting away from that fact. next season is going to be a massive challenge with all the former prem clubs in there but we seriously need to step up and the likes of lidds and stef are not up to it imo
