Their normal prices are £16 adults. Ticket price, new ground, important game, should all add up to a 4 figure travelling crowd you'd think. Maybe more if we have a decent bit of form between now and then.
-
Whatever you think to the form before tonight, this one game could be massive for us.
Should give everyone around the club a confidence boost, and show the players they can be a good side, if we keep up that level of performance.
Yes, we've had this kind of game, a game that should give us a boost, time and time again and not taken advantage... but here's hoping.
-
If bending the truth a little helps the players believe in themselves like they did tonight, so be it! ;)

The Beehive is known as the away fans pub.

Playing your best team is more important than any potential 5k fine. (For what it's worth, you usually get away with a warning if you make 6 changes instead of 5.)

Hi Simpo, do you know how many pints (sorry, halves) correspond to a sheet of tokens? (can't find this info anywhere on the site and it's probably the most important!).
Something like...
£15 = 22 tokens
£8 = 11 tokens
5 tokens (£3.60-ish) for nearly every pint of ale, 3 tokens (£2ish) for a "half", which is generally more like three quarters. Plenty of other ales, lagers, coders, bottles etc, some costing less tokens.
You get the idea.

Living as I do a short walk from the Macron Stadium, I've been itching for the day we play Bolton away.
Tonight I've realised that the beer festival, relocated to one of the big rooms at the stadium this year, is running over the weekend of the game! (October 15th)
Now I'm sure police will have something to say about opening times etc, but it's usually a good do, and thought I'd let my fellow Latics fans know in advance in case they want to make any special plans to attend.
According to the rarely-wrong http://www.beer-festival.co.uk, the usual Saturday afternoon session has been shortened, with reduced admission price, due to the football, with opening times TBA. The late Friday and Saturday sessions are as normal.
Anyone who ends up attending on Saturday, I hope you enjoy the Managers big band, which have among their number a few friends of mine.
And remember, always ask for "half" pints.

(Can't think of how you could change these verse lyrics:
"Everybody wants you
Everybody wants your love
I'd just like to make you mine all nightEverybody sees you
Everybody looks and stares
I'd just like to make you mine all mine") -
Under the circumstances of 7 weeks ago yes many would see 20th as an achievement. But under the improved circumstances Robbo has worked us towards, no. We can think bigger now.
-
Worries me how many times it has been delayed. We could be knackered if they change their mind late in the transfer window.
Robbo has said it's dragging on longer than we'd have liked, and there are already a couple of other players identified if we get strung along for too much longer.
But he really wants his main target, thinks he'll be ideal for us.
-
Robbo chatting with BBC radio manc's Jimmy Wagg and Steve Eyre.
Interestingly it seems Eyre was in the running for the Latics job during the summer, he mentioned as much today. Said the club, particularly SOD, was brilliant with him all the way through discussions. I find his analysis excellent, but not sure he has the right personality to be Latics leader.
On the other hand, I'm starting to feel like Robbo suits us very well.

"It’s just the final third and it’s usually the last thing that clicks with a group of players. Lee Erwin is a big threat and I’ve worked with Billy Mckay for a long time so I know what he’s all about and the goals will come.”
- Steve Robinson, last night.

Just what fans and players needed, a timely morale boost. Well done Latics!

Haha, yes indeed! There are moaners in every stand of every football ground in the country. It's not exclusive to the Main Stand at Boundary Park, don't kid yourself...
But compared to the upbeat chipper attitude of most Oldham fans, I find people in some main stand areas to be more easily perturbed.
-
True, it can depend a lot on who exactly is around you.Bit I sit in is alright. Luckily no moaners round me
-
Miles more positive atmosphere in the North Stand, my dad said there were people angrily slagging off the players and manager from kick off in the main stand at one of the friendlies.Taking my 7yo grandson to the Wigan game tomorrow (his first live match so I'm hoping it doesn't put him off football for life). I know its pay on the day, but is it best to take him to the main stand where I normally sit, or the new North Stand?
The Main Stand moaner thing isn't a myth!

Said hello to two Latics at Kendal Calling music festival this weekend, one in the pink kit, one in the most recent orange kit.

The bit about a fee was not attributed to B.Fry for what it's worth. Their chairman of incredibly open to being asked questions on Twitter if anyone fancies doing that.Yes he looked like little boy lost last night .
Barry Fry as always the comedian if he thinks we should pay a fee on last nights performance, money would be better spent elsewhere
-
In the Peterborough newspaper, Barry Fry says he doubts Beautyman will join because he's a London lad. Peterborough would also want a fee.

Yes indeed, wasn't thinking, just semi ranting! It was Railway Mechanics Institute, no?
-
Went out of business in 2011.They're Leigh Genesis now and play at that new(ish) Sports Village place.
It's a shoddy tale, they should never have moved from being Horwich RMI in the first place! Leigh doesn't even have a Railway Mechanics Institute. They were pretty much forcibly removed to make way for the new stadium. I went to a Horwich RMI vs Latics XI friendly when I was a young un, and about 20 years on I finally get to see another Oldham team play in Horwich! Might have a drink at Horwich RMI cricket pavilion on the day too, for posterity. ;)

Don't forget this is highly unlikely to be a 3pm Saturday kick-off. Probably 2pm Sunday, as one of eight games moved there by the BBC.
