  1. The sports bar is likely the one in the same building - the Cross Rail station. So you can't miss Giant Robot, it's upstairs at the other end.  Anything else you want to know just ask - I spend 5 days a week here.

And yeah - Andy mentioned that! Can you send a picture of it in a PM thru Facebook please?

I do it to those I've lost any respect for. McFluff is a troll. Plain and simple. Asks for facts and evidence, has his nose firmly pointed to them, still refuses to accept what's obvious infront of him. You're not quite as far gone as that but you are desperately trying to stifle debate and necessary concern on this issue. Which is why I called you Comrade K. To some point, it's also mild-mannered humour. Not humour to your taste and others obviously. Some people like Micheal McIntyre and Peter Kay but can't stand Frankie Boyle and Billy Connelly etc. Some people will have a laugh at what I put and some won't. The World keeps on turning.

Anyway...how about we get back on topic. And if it's a topic you don't enjoy...there's a "next topic" button below...simples.

You're hurting your own point BB80. Stop with the name calling, stay on the topic you raise, and I will not lock the topic. Feed the "Troll", as you put it, and I will simply lock it. I care about this topic, but not enough to deal with this shit all day.

  3. A tale as old as time itself... you let an OWTB thread run long enough and people will act like cunts.

I think there is a very, very serious conversation to be had about all of this and in amongst the above are some valid, some vital, points. However, a vast swathe of people are acting like absolute bell ends towards each other and I don't have the time nor patience to clean it up.

    So, as feels inevitable...

Will the owtb mob mock them to their faces or stick to this thread? Bullies.

I've checked the thread carefully - I see no bullying behaviour. If you do - please use the 'Report post' button at the top of that post to inform the Mod team. We investigate every report and act when appropriate.

  5. An open letter; from OWTB.co.uk to Paul and Jeni.

    Deal Paul and Jeni,

From everyone who runs OWTB.co.uk and those I have unilaterally chosen to speak for; not one person on this site, to my knowledge, from the posts within this thread, wishes to (nor attempted to) discredit you. Your ability to donate such a massive sum, £23,000!, to the club is beyond commendable. It's astonishing. Your generosity is beyond reproach, and we're all grateful to you for that.

I apologise that our club, in its infinite lack of wisdom, has chosen to expose you to everyone. To name you. To locate you. That is an absolute disgrace, and you deserve better from a club you evidently love, from a club you financially invested in. To a club you stand up for, despite their evident lack of judgement. You deserve so much better.

So once again; thank you for the generosity you've shown not only to Oldham Athletic, but to all of us as fellow fans.

I hope that you find comfort in knowing its appreciated - even if many of us remain cynical as to the behaviour of the club in this regard.

Have a lovely weekend ahead - here's to three points!

The bit of the letter that said 'have been supporting since ........... we used to travel etc' has been replaced with 'for over 50 years'.

    A million times this!

It literally had a giant hole in it, because they didn't know how long this mystery person had been watching. At the very least this means the club participated in the creation of this letter. It wasn't a surprise to them, they manipulated or adapted what was given to meet their needs.  It's an embarrassment.

It's going to be a very long 7 weeks!

    Indeed.

@ChaddySmoker Has been given 24 Mod-Preview for his immediate move to personal commentary. I seemingly agree with you political leanings (the Daily Mail is indeed a crock of shit) but you can't be in the first 10 replies and immediately make it personal. That's just making this an unpleasant place for people to come!

To everyone: I've edited / removed replies to that comment, where I can; that's possible on 2 pages of posts.  If there's any further personal commentary or attacks your post is removed - I will not waste my time editing it for you, to leave the pertinent elements behind.  We will however be transparent, where we can, and report in-thread what has been edited/removed and for what reason.

It's a sensitive topic at a difficult time for many; think about that. No one's out to get you they just think that the way to get the best for their loved ones is different. Be nice.

  8. Hi All,

A mate at work is a senior member of the Leyton Orient Fan's Trust, who are trying to raise £250,000 to have a viable fighting fund, for their battle with morally questionable owners and what appears to be impending doom.  I know people came from far and wide to help us all those years ago, and that we may well be asking them to do the same anytime soon, so if you can spare a pound, a fiver or more it would be most welcome.

I know for a fact the OASIS lads looked first and foremost to the Orient day out and can count ourselves lucky they were around - hopefully that can be the case again soon!

Thank you - the Trust need to be kicking down the TIFOSY door demanding to know their intention for that fund. That's a lot of money they are 'minding' right now and it should be release back to the individuals if there's no evident reason to hold it.

  10. I hadn't given this enough attention; so TIFOSY is a third party, equivalent to other Crowd Funding sites, such as Kick Starter? Is that assertion correct?

On the assumption that it is; how the hell do they not know where £22,000 of donated money is? If the club have revised their intention to spend this money on a scoreboard to a sponsors board why are TIFOSY not simply refunding people by default? Why bother with the club - petition TIFOSY (Tifosy Limited is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority - Reference Number: 717605) to release the funds back to all contributors directly?

Can someone from the Trust comment on that approach and if they, as a considerable promoter of the scheme, believe there's a potential misuse of funds taking place?
