  1. I think the team have let him down collectively, this season at least. I can't think of many occasions when I've been able to single out a player as having had a shocker.

I can, however, think of loads of occasions when the team collectively hasn't shown enough desire or urgency.

agree, they need to take a chunk of responsability if they can gee themselves like they did for liverpool why not for the bread and butter

  2. Yeah but he wouldnt have got the nice signing on fee which players tend to get when the clubs are getting them on a free. Its ok though as he supports the club ;-)

and how would you know that?i know lee didn't get a signing on fee so how do you know taylor did,and do you really expect him to ask to be sold last season to make the club some money, why would he want to do that when he doesn;t know what is going to happen at oldham..if oldham where in with a chance of the championship he probably wouldn;t have gone anywhere

  3. I'd say that would be about spot on, the club can only offer what they can offer and the players with the help of their agents, will accept what's best given their potential or circumstances.

I'd say everyone involved knew the score at Xmas, as i've said before....that's life....sadly!

This will have been tough for Kieran none the less, if we had the finances available, i know he'd still be with us.

agree, and i know it was tough very tough but it's not just about finance it's getting promotion and you can bet your life if we were in a decent position league wise it may have been a different story

  4. so because a 19year old wasnt starting ahead of allott (player of the year that season) and whitaker (scored crucial goals that year) shez had the hump with him ? Was it not just a case of shez thinking he wasnt ready yet ?

maybe but allot, whittaker and smalley had some shocking games a lot of shocking games to be fair that season

  5. reluctantly he did yes weeks after he told him he had no future .

more like months after, penney told him before the season even started that he had no future at latics and was made available for loan, kieran decided to stick it out and try to win a place as he was only contracted to the end of that season anyway,it was the last few weeks of that season penney played him as no one else was available and joe royal carried it on when he came in.

for comments above about eardley and lomax being here under shez and thats why he wasn't in the squad is rubbish,he was brought here as a midfielder not a right back and the midfield playing at that time wasn't the best so i do believe shez had the hump with him

  6. I don't think we really did anything. I thought his ability and understanding of the game was pretty obvious even in his first season where we only saw him twice. Couldn't understand at all why none of our managers would give him a proper chance, he'd still stand out in centre midfield. His football brain is well beyond Furman or Wes as much as I like them.

absolutely agree, but we will never see it now unfortunately,he was forced into rb through injuries and thats where he had to stay so didn't really get chance in cm

  7. Nothing wrong with signing Tonk and playing him and Shef alternately with someone small and fast alongside. In successive season Kuqi and Tonk have started very well and then faded, evidently through tiredness through too much and too little experience respectively. If PD can get the balance right and have some conviction in dropping one of them for the other when things aren't going well then, if affordable, go for it. I wouldn't break the bank for them though.

i'd be a bit dubious of that,we woukd have..

shef..was very good at first, terrible last few months but as others have said he may have burnt out and resting him every now and again may help, i would keep him providing he could stay upfront as he hasn't got the legs to play so deep

smith..seems like a nice lad and not heard a bad thing about him but he's not ready to lead the line

tonk...everyone loved him last season but again his form blamed on burnout, maybe it was,not sure how many he scored but i don't remember that many and have heard tales of him being lazy etc in training since he came back,if true could be a factor in why he hasn't figured much since coming back
