  1. Lee played in CM for us, and was just as annonomous and out of the game as Adeyemi was mostly.

He has converted to Right back, and a right back he now is.

He won POTS last season playing there, and he'll probably win it again this year playing there.

He is the modern day full-back. Better going forward than going back*

I want him to re-sign for us; I really do. But, as a RB & nothing else.

CM needs sorting, but with new-comers - not by moving a now settled and consistent Right Back into there. Round Pegs, Square holes and all that……

.* See Glen Johnson, Kyle Walker, Leighton Baines, Ryan Taylor, Neil Taylor, Angel Rangel….heck, even Ashley Cole for the high level examples.

as far as i know he has never been tried there since becoming a regular, you can't go off an appearance he made when unfit

  2. I think its been kicked out of us from the club.

Ive seen some low times at BP over the 30 years of my support but this current situation is dire.

Ive always fancied latics to battle back in the past, not this time though, the players dont want it bad enough.

no course they don't they all fancy a pay cut

  3. ......forfeit the wage for Kuqi or another striker and pay Simpson extra to keep him here for next season ?

I'd return to the drawing board for strikers next season replacing Reid, Kuqi, Smith and Parker. It's worth the gamble as apart from Kuqi's first few months, the lot of them are totally ineffective.

Retaining Furman, Wes and Simpson in the middle is crucial for us to then build the team around them.

i wouldn't keep him at all costs no,he has been rubbish since coming back from hudders and listening to commentry today it didn't sound like he was involved much 2nd half until the pen incident, so no i wouldn't pay extra at the expense of someone else

  4. Per-match he warmed up by taking shots, not with the other subs.

    Similar at half time.

When he came on he tried to do too much, frustrating his team mates. And I thought there were a couple of occasions where he wasn't given the ball when he should have been.

Maybe I'm reading more into it than I should. I don't think he fits in. That's a shame.

think your right he doesn't fit but he only has himself to blame

  5. I can. Still think if he loves the club as much as he says then he should ave signed a contract so that the kub coud have got a fee for him. A bit like how Steve McManaman shat on Liverpool all those years ago. Difference is, I can't see Taylor scoring a volley in the champions league final for Real Madrid. Good luck to him? Meh . In my experience you earn respect through your actions. If he'd have signed a contract extension knowing that it would earn a fee for the club he would have gone down as a Latics legend. But he didn't. Splitter

true but he may find it easier to get a club if theres no fee involved these days

  6. for the remaining games i would put tom at rb and lee in cm with furman,i know it's chopping and changing again but i honestly feel lee would do a better job,he has been brought up as a pass and move attacking player,he reads the game well and can pick a pass if the players make the runs he will give them the ball and i do think tom did a good job at rb at anfield

  7. One thing I am seeing week in week out is a lack of effort. We don't seem to be able to defend we have brought in another striker but surely we need to stop the leak than score goals. Don't agree with dickovs we can't go negative excuse every week. I am not one of these moaners, but I have never in my 15 years watching latics seen such a lack of desire. I Will still cheer on the boys all the way but feel we are not progressing as a club. Rant over

sorry can't agree with that,we aren't playing very well granted but it's not lack of effort it's just most of the players aren't good enough

  8. The miss yesterday was shocking and cost us 3 points (never mind 1).

But I don't think we have an alternative. Reid became anonymous once Kuqi went off. We brought Smith on and again start playing even more long ball without any success (when will PD realise that this plan B doesn't work?).

Given how thin on the ground the squad is and with Simpson out, I'm not sure we can afford to drop him.

i agree,i know some of the misses from kuqi have been woeful and i certainly didn't clap him off but i am always hopeful that the goals will start to come again

smith for me is a definate no no and reuben{offside}reid isn't the answer either,he may get us the odd goal but i wouldn't want to rely on him.

if finances allow for next season i would use all available funds on a decent striker, this team have proved they can make chances they just need someone to finish them..of course that depends on the squad staying together

  9. Nah, if you'd got anything it would have been a conversation about how massive Sheffield United were coasting in front of their 50,000 fans when some dodgy refereeing let in a bunch of nobodys.

I dislike the show, but it's as good as you're ever going to get for lower league football and will always favour the better supported teams.

i prefer the one on a monday night late kick off? concentrates on teams in your area but it will be about how utd let themselves down rather than how well we played bloody annoying
