While we're on the subject, does anyone else think it'd be worth giving Kieran a go in midfield whilst Furman is out? We've been lacking creativity in midfield recently (well, certainly against Brentford), and I think he's good technically, very comfortable on the ball, and shows a very good range of passing even from full back. Might be a bit of a gamble considering he hasn't played there for a while now, and we'd be losing a very good right back in the process, but maybe worth a pop?

i would also like to see lee in cm,as you say he hasn't played there for a while but deffo worth a go while furman is out and we may even find he could be the right partner for furman when he's back

Again I don't argue Clarke could have done more... but Lee's still at fault. Clarke should not have to look for a more difficult ball. Lee should give him the option.

Of course other players lose possession, obviously there's a bit of a Lee love-in on here and symptomatic how watered down this forum has become when anyone who voices an opinion different to the consensus immediately gets jumped on. Because the happy clappers seem to have the run of the site…(not necessarily referring to you dkeny..)

 

Instead of coming up with generalisations, watch Lee over the next few weeks and you might understand what I am on about…better still watch the goals conceded this season on LP…As I say great going forward, very hot and cold when defending, often out of position.

 

I'm not sold on Diamond yet either…

 

The goalkeeper has been excellent, Diallo was a breath of fresh air and M'Voto is slowly getting back to his best, jury's out on Clarke for me and the midfield if i'm honest..but hey it's just my opinion….

That seems unlikely... I've only seen him play twice this year. You have something personally invested, not me.

 

I thought he made a mistake and it contributed significantly to us conceding a goal to the worst team in the league.

 

I don't recall pointing out his mistakes, but I'd be happy to further analyse his performances if you'd like?

Telling him to kick it out doesn't excuse the fact he stood like a Lemon as his centre half is closed down.

Lee has been the weak link defensively all season imho. Next game watch his defensive game and you'll see how often he's caught out of position or gives the ball away

you seem to have been pointing out lee's mistakes quite a lot recently so i could say to you how about you watch the whole team next week and see how many times they get caught out of position and give the ball away

If you see it fully it's Lee's fault, that goal.

 

He stands like a statue as Clarke is closed out... all he had to do was move 5 feet and give Clarke and out and we'd have cleared it. That's why Clarke gives it away (should still have done better, I accept) and also why you see him go mental in the six yard box when it goes in.

I'm concerned that if we play Mellor at left back then he will be targeted by them and got at. I've not seen him play there and am more than happy to be proved wrong with a stellar performance from him.

 

Maybe 3-5-2 would be a good idea but then we are changing our whole system which could backfire and all the team underperform?

 

Either way, we have a problem at leftback tomorrow so Dickov has to try something, probably the safest bet is to play Mellor, we might get away with it tomorrow but with Black out for five weeks and Diallo out for one or three games the problem is there until we either sign a left back or get Diallo back.

 

We could put Lee there and Winchester at RB, probably my least preferred option as Lee will take time to adjust to that side and Winchester might struggle to readjust to playing RB after his spell in the middle.

 

I hope we don't put Diamond there, I have never been a fan of sticking a centre back at full back.

i have been told this weekend that we are close to signing two strikers,not going to name them on here for obvious reasons but hopefully we will get at least one in this week

ritchie jones has signed a 2 yr deal with an option of another 2 yr with bradfird city

agree,our strikers let us down badly last season and i was relieved at the end that tonk wasnt ours and reid was released,as it stands now we are stuck with reid and feeney, i wouldnt want tonk as well we would probably end up watching a replay of last seasons efforts

Lee is a right back and a decent one at that, don't know where this idea comes from that he should play central midfield.

 

Winchester too slow and lightweight to be playing in there IMO, we need someone with some height and stamina to go alongside Furman.
