He reminded me of Gerald off Clarksons farm.
Wise words.

I was there under this user name. Does anyone else miss the spectacularly zany PlakkiLakki?
I never got my head around Plakki’s posting style. I remember some people claimed to have cracked the code and understood his posts but I wasn’t one of them!

I was one of the regulars on Big Thread along with Derek Wilson, Jimi T, Maddog, Stipe Tripe, Leeslover, GillianFN and Stevie J and I think Ackey popped up now and again. Apologies if I missed any other regulars. The eventual unwritten rule was you posted about anything other than football. Got to something stupid like 6000+ pages. Stipe did curate it after it ended and had it in his e mails somewhere split into chunks. I tend to read rather than post nowadays.
Nice to know you’re still kicking about, Inspector!

Reading your post suggests you know Barry well. Most people who despise him haven't ever met him. Much rubbish has been written however I know him personally and whilst a lot of venom has been directed towards him much of which might be true I can tell you all he loves O.A.F.C. He may be opinionated and made errors but he would give his last breath for the Latics. So everybody just chill and amuse yourselves with his tweets. He's no longer a director but he still loves the club.
He loves OAFC? Yet his love for the club is trumped by an absolute desperation for the current owner and BoD to fail.

If I were going, I’d make a point of seeing The War on Drugs, Phoenix, Loyle Carner and Alt-J (although looks like they clash with Phoenix). I quite like Japanese Breakfast too. I saw The Hives live over twenty years ago and they were ace and the Bootleg Beatles were fun too.
Didn’t notice Billy Nomates in the line-up - I’d definitely be checking her out too.

Probably thinking of @Matt and @Frankly Mr Shankly when I ask this... Anyone you have seen on the Glastonbury lineup this year that you'd suggest, that I may otherwise have missed?

Can you fathom a way of bribing the cup back next year?

Apologies, last year I completely forgot. This year I’ve not been well. I’ll see how I’m fixed this coming season to sort a return of the cup competition. I wasn’t sure anyone was bothered to be honest.

Thought the Chesterfield game kicked off later.

Yes, Dynamo Tbilisi on the plastic pitch with many of the wonderful players that took us to the Premier League. I enjoyed that one. I remember it as being 3-0, to us, but an online report says 1-0. Mind you, I am very old and tired and I do always remember things as being even better than they actually are / were - it's a gift really.
I was at that one - my memory is that we thrashed them 4-0.

I suspect it’s been posted elsewhere and I’ve missed it but Companies House shows the appointment of a new director which the club doesn’t appear to have announced - again, I may have missed it, as I’m not really keeping abreast of things.

I’m struggling to understand what any club officials from Latics could have done to be perceived as treating him badly seeing as he was there as a guest of Bradford?
There would probably only have been Barry there who knew Duxbury from his time at Latics and regardless of what we some may think of Bazza, I’m sure he was a fan of Dux when he played for and led by example, one of the better teams in our recent history.
He got a great reaction from Latics fans at half time so it can’t be that. Perhaps he was just playing to the home crowd in hospitality when he said that after the game and I imagine his comments drew some applause and cheers?
Genuinely interested to know if he shared the real reason behind the dig if you can. Cheers
I would assume he was talking more about when he was at Latics as a coach under Dickov.
