  1. i know the two shez refers to very well, they are big oldham fans an are well respected at latics.theyve been going since i was a kid watching oldham which suprises me how they give out a bit of stick to shez they should know how up an down oldham are by now. im up for the brighton game an i drink in the same pub with them before an after the match so might ask them why they keep doing it.

I think one or two might have been a figure of speech

  2. Shut all doors in January, then think about selling maybe in the summer!

I can't see us going bust between now and May, so hold your horses TTA!!!

This january will show just how committed the owners actually are to gaining promotion versus making a tidy profit. (I'm not saying they haven't been great in the past!!! We owe TTA a LOT!)

Agreed, His price would surely increase - If he continued to have a good season more clubs would be interested, the risk of injury/bad half of season is minimal in comparsion to the benefit/further potential benefits of him staying for the remainder, his contract is long enough for us to still negotiate a good price - this is looking at it form a simplistic business point of view, as a fan I dont want him to go full stop

  3. Would the housing market have to reach the buoyant state it was in when the stadium plans where hatched for the development to go ahead, or alternative plans being drawn up if any recovery is much slower?

Why, whenever we sign a player and a fee is involved e.g. O’Grady, Davies, Allott, is it always reported as an undisclosed fee? Why don’t you just tell us how much they cost?

It's been reported in an interview with Simon Corney in Four Four Two that we have the fifth smallest budget in the division, when the impression previously given is that we have one of the largest (top half at least), hence the high expectations by any, and indeed Corney himself. Is this 'fifth smallest' figure correct?

I meant to ask that qusestion after reading the same article it would seem unfair to use the "Sheridan has been given the backing" if we fail to get promoted if that is the case, It's about competiton and if there are 19 teams spending more on players wages it would be unfair to blame Sheridan (entirely) if we didn't

  4. Has the lack of interest in appartments/housing on the new site played it's part in the delay of the re-devepment and are the TTA having second doubts that these plans will be viable, even if there is an upturn in the market?

are we going to have to sell in january? not every player has his price etc....

If we did not get promoted this season will Sheridan be sacked regardless? (last minute goal in play off final etc)

other clubs (i know a luton fan...) have a designated smoking area attached to the stand but ouside, would the club consider this?

  5. 2 players spring to mind although i watched every home premiership game, chris waddle came to boundary park and put on a masterclass for bradford.

and kevin francis, he was fantastic the day he played for birmingham, goalscoring machine, standing ovation from oldham fans aswell, what a display

    great performance, two quality finishes....

first game v's leeds 86, 3 years old won 4-1 around easter, cant remember the game but remember the car that used to drive round the pitch, manager big fat joe, cried at school the day he left much to the amusement of "scum" mates....

kanchelskis used to run us ragged eveytime we played them

  6. Really? Well you have been watching a different team to me... I have seen a team where if the opposition play football and give us space - then we win (scunny, leeds etc), and if the opposition is so abstractly dire - we win (Hereford, Cheltenham first game)... however, if the opposition are remotely average and just choose to outwork us - we lose (Stockport, Yeovil, Brizzle, Swindon, Cheltenham) . These are the games where we need those three characteristics - and where they have been very sadly lacking.

Seriously, I love this myth that Shez's first season was filled with anything more than flukey wins with :censored: performances.... we all have rose tinted specs on ablout that season as we were all so relieved to get rid of ronnie. So many games were won that season by pretty poor performances, with Lids crossing a ball in that bounced off Porters arse - and hey, we win 1-0. Fair enough... however our success that season was built on solid very average if not poor performances - which saw us beat a lot of the bobbins teams. That should answer your question - as Shez's reputation is based on this season.

The only difference between that season and last season was Porter, and a lot of luck that was missing in so many of our home 1-0 losses at the start of last year.

the forest 5-0??? we weren't a bad side, deserved to be where we were - just not the depth in strengh and caught out by the better team in the end, Sheridans credibility was deserved

  7. I was at the agme when the police came and removed the flag at the request of the BBC and I dont know who owned the flag but I now they were only young lads, I don't think they could have been accused of political statements - if i remember rightly they changed the text on the flag at the clubs request - Im not overly patriotic but Mr Allen was just having a pop due to the towns reputation, Im happy for as many St Georges flags just to rile him - he's a tit and thought that he would belittle "backward town" by jumping on a bandwaggon and trying to tell evrybody he understood what statements were being made - you can be overly liberal to the point of ridiculous, I would of thought that the lads who owned the flag would've been unaware of any undertones

  8. One of the weirdest incidents I've had at a football match.

It bounced down on the seats in front of us. Little kids round the back where launching loads of things and kept missing. Imagine our surprise when the biggest thing they had flew through the gap.

My mate threw the crate to the bottom of the stand and the stewards looked at it like crates falling at their feet was a common occurence

i know i was just to the right, enjoyed the fieworks though.

  9. Latics away followings, and away followings, go with momentum. Yes we're doing well overall, but even a self-confessed happy clapper like myself is aware that things haven't been going swimmingly over the last month and a half.

Wins on Saturday, at least a point at Southend, safe passage through to the third round of the Cup, and home wins against Brighton and Walsall...and we'll sell out at Peterborough

its a big terrace I'd be suprised

  10. I remember when we got battered at home to a very good bristol Rovers side 5-1,think Jmaie Curerton scored them all that was a bad one, also trabelled down to Gillingham, away on my own when i was 16, went on the Barlows and got abused by about 5 fat mockney numptys for the entire 90 minutes which wasn't pleasant - lost first 5 games and this one went no differently, scored the first goal of the season but it was little consolation, should have moved but boyish pride kept me stood there
