  1. see what i mean jim?!!! lol

    well, whats changed..

for a start we were eighth not tenth and i havent changed my views on six yard line gols, BUT millwall shown me we can cope now by simply joe royling it.

still got two players in the proverbial window BUT a much better real squad so thats better too

im probably a little skinter than then BUT i realised that eight meals a day was not essential!!

so did we see some rewards? definate yes. almost certainly nothing to do with what i said, but i dont complain anymore with regards the playing squad. three cheers for tta (even if they are gona sell hughes for a fiver and swap him with ormerod  )

still doesnt change the fact that daniel sturridge wont play for england before january, all ticket games wont keep away fans out of home ends and hughes/ davies is our most potent attack combination!!

    oh and clearly I win

you are sacrificing razor blades in order to get to games now? :clown:

  2. Negative comments about Phillips, everyone wanted him whilke he was here on loan... I only saw 1 half against Bradford, he looked very good going forward but a bit afraid to stick his boot in, I would have happily had him here on loan.. Agree with the other point about it being unfair on him, the lad wanted to come and could have put himself in the shop window aswell as playing regulary - all for the sake of 50 grand?....if thats true Stoke are out of order

  3. I was referring to his amount of bookings(resulting in being suspended). You watch this season how many times he gets booked for silly fouls(like tugging shirts etc).

I think the guy is a great player and a great leader, but his stupidiness has cost us as we havent won without him.

    KEEP THE FAITH

it wsa a dedicated challenge to stop the other lad going through on goal, not a schoolboy slap or head butt - is was a questionable sending off anyway, cut the man some slack, other points are right and he'll be back to enforce soon

  4. Confirmed Stam is out between 3 and 6 Weeks...... Will prob be a defence of Jones, Bryne, Hazell, Lomax on Sunday

Also, does anyone kniow ehy they always refer to Stam as the popular dutch man. I can think of more popular players but he always seems to win this award

can you think of anymore popular Dutchmen at the club - I cant, he deserves this award

  5. I have never gone to a away match and sat in the home end...no...why the hell would I do that ??

I have been sat next too city fans in the past... I tollerated them...and made it clear that if I heard one word out of them they wouldnt be sat there much longer.....

Its ironic how there was a post on here about sitting in the home ends at grounds, what are you suggesting about people who have had to do that? You can tell form the context of thos posts regarding the issue that for whatever reason sometimes it's necessary to do that, I had a ticket butnwouldn't have thought twice about sitting in the home end, Because i wanted o see my club play - If you noticed that othertopic sometimes it happens..

As for telling City fans they wont be sat there for much longer, get real.. In all honesty ever since i was a kid they have had a massive amounts of seats and have never felt it necessary to keep a low profile.......

"why the hell would i do that"? no ticket/friend from town/comps - footy fans want to see games....

  6. is there many/any players in the 3rd division that have Taylors ability with Both feet?

my exact sentiments at the time, I couldn't get my head round what he was saying after perfomces form the left ths season, Im sure he took a free kick or two with his left boot aswell, If he didn't then I lied to the guy who was having a go at him - i was right in principal though im sure

  7. Not really, it was indirectly responsible for it perhaps. The trouble was still caused directly by away fans making themselves known at an innappropriate time and the more fighty home fans reacting. It could have been avoided with better decisions, but it wasn't caused by the ticketing decision.

of course it was caused by the ticketing situation, If they'd have just given us that full side like they always have previously there would have been no need to go in the home end, it was a dreadful decision on their part

  8. I rate Dickinson highly.

Pulls defenders all over the place and knows where the net is.

Thought it was a stonewall penalty too, although everybody around me disagreed.

That said, he falls over way too easily and should have been sent off for a second yellow card late on.

Disappointed with Oldham today. Failed to use the wings as much as they should have done and persisted with lumping it up to Hughes who didn't win a header all game.

directly in front of it and the ball was won

  9. i dont know whats wrong with chris lately(lordy),i guess its just a case of finally having had enough of mediocrity and now we seem to have finally had a fantastic start to the season,so in his eyes and i would imagine quite a few others i suspect that the sentiment is 2-0 up and we cocked it up.....

that said if you had asked every single oldham fan you could and asked them at the start of the season what you would be happy with after 7 games pretty much most would have settled for a couple of wins and a draw.

the longer the unbeaten run continues the more you will get really stupid posts and comments about how the team are playing, its only natural that if 12 games unbeaten people will be questioning why were not winning 6 or 7 nil.......thats just the kind of fans we have unfortunately.

incidently i found a copy of a video, the 90/91 season were we got promoted, watched it again last night with my lad and brought all the memories flooding back, the point is a lot of those games we didnt play well, but ground out a result, and in the end we rode our luck a little but got what we deserved.

plus the average crowd was 11k,there were games of 12,400 and we even topped 13k 3 or 4 times.

the one point where it really showed how well we were doing was barnsley away, the away end was flooded with tics, magnificent sight.

I watch that now and again - the Hull game was a classic example, wasn't there but my old man said we were battered, thats the kind of thing we need to win promotion this season -
