  1. Forgive me if this has been mentioned previously but talk about double standards!

I do think its wrong of the football league to allow Bellamy going there, while Citeh pay his wages but thats only because its unfair on other teams in the championship!

................. on the other hand I'm glad Motherwell feel like they have been done over! :ranting:

    Being discussed here mate: http://www.owtb.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=31461

But yeah, I agree re: Motherwell :D

  2. Yeah it was through moneysupermarket.com just yesterday. Ironically enough, with gocompare it was around £50 more with the same company (swift/AXA)!

I used moneysupermarket.com, and it came back with dearer quotes than with the same company when i did on Confused.com.

  3. Could we really go to charlton on saturday and win? I'm trying so hard not to get carried away but i'm really starting to believe we can beat anyone in this league! I've not felt so excited about a season for a very long time, if at all

If we go for it why not? Saying that, I still think it would be a successful afternoon if we got a point.

  4. Just a quick reminder guys (after noticing some of you place Lee Hughes as the first scorer in the Notts County prediction), in the prediction threads for the first scorer, your prediction is for the first LATICS scorer. If you don't think we'll score, just state "no scorer", or "own goal" if you think it will be an OG in our favour (don't need to be specific as to who scores the OG..).

    Cheers :)

  5. Just read an article where Thompson said he was grateful to Latics for getting him an operation to repair a longstanding Knee ligament injury he had been carrying from his Forest days. He broke down 7 times with the injury and was sidelined for 3 to 4 months each time, surely an injury record as bad as that should have been investigated more thoroughly before any contract was signed.

With Rob Purdie also reputedly arriving with a pelvic injury and yet to play a 1st team game you have to ask the question...Who the hell is it that carries out the medicals on behalf of our club!!

In fairness to Purdie, his previous injury record before he signed for us was excellent. In this case I blame the training that Penney was giving them, especially when more than one player succombed to the same injury.

  6. Kind of dwarfs mine ha ha.....good luck.

Mine for this week (for those who wish to avoid.. )

    Aston Villa v West Ham

    Chelsea v West Brom

Swansea City v Preston North End

    Bristol Rovers v Yeovil Town

    Huddersfield Town v Tranmere Rovers

    Plymouth Argyle v Carlisle United

    Bradford City v Stevenage Borough

    Luton Town v Altrincham

Mansfield Town v Forest Green Rovers

    Rangers v Kilmarnock

    247/1..

  7. I think a line needs to be drawn on what 'information' should be transparent.

When its things like who owns what, for example the issues about the land, then yes, I think more transparency is needed. If its things about financials and 'undisclosed' fees, then I think to an extent these should remain private. Not by trying to annoy the fans, but more for other clubs not knowing the specifics of our financials. If all the cards are placed on the table and every tom, dick and harry can see them, it will no doubt mean clubs would say "we want more for player a" etc or players saying "we want more wages" etc.

  8. Is the prediction league not updated after every league game? Just curious as to how we all did in relation to the Tranny game

Time depending mate, I'm hoping to post a monthly collaborated league table around the 1st of each month. Just so that come September 1st, a few results will be in so a league table will be more developed.

  9. I'm pretty much in the same boat as you, not really able to give you an insight into the players you have highlighted but i've gone for :

    Rory McIllroy

    Reteif Goosen

Goosen won't get anything I'm afraid. Thats because I have also bet on him...

I expect him to injure himself slipping on his backside down the fairway on the 4th, forcing him to retire now

  10. Mostly depends what you're driving. Anything remotely sporty or premium try Privilege. If it's more run of the mill, Direct Line.

It's definitely worth trying one of the compare websites, if only to laugh at the Aviva quote...

I had to laugh at the £5,649.56 quote from The Green Insurance Company I got

  11. £1100 is well cheap! Cheapest I have found on those comparison sites is £2K!

Im hopefully going to pass my test in October and get myself a 1.2 Fiat Punto Grande (Not new). Thing is, im 25 in December, is it worth waiting those extra 2 months or so if the insurance were to be significantly lower because i turn 25?

I have had my license officially for 5 years, but not driven really since I passed my test (wanted the license done with before uni), so that might have something to do with it. But yeah, was expecting much more damage..
