  1. 1-0 to City.

Aguero scores from 20 yards, the ball slipping under the body of Reina.

Shoot from distance on Friday lads!

(or will Liverpool sign Brill on loan?)

How long have they had Brucie Grobbelaar back?

As for their play overall.......I hope they line up this negative against us on Friday (Though somehow, optimism needs to be replaced by realism!)

  2. you have a point

    Thank You!

right lets not discuss football tactics or anything about players anymore, infact shut this website down we have no need to discuss football anymore as someone will always know better.

Now Now......no need to be so drastic!

As for someone knowing better - yes as I mentioned, PD more than probably does.

  3. .....kuqi was utter :censored:e yesterday. At fault for the 2nd goal, got a stupid & petulent booking and didnt celebrate our winning goal. He's been toss for the last 5/6 games now & his attitude has stunk for a while - but he's untouchable on here so you cant say that can you?

But to compair him to that utter waste of oxygen is a no-brainer

Is that the 'wants to win attitude' and will not accept mediocrity off team mates - nowt wrong with that in my book - a real pro.

As for the being toss in the last 5 or 6 - as has been mentioned, he is just in need of a rest, but he's that important a player in how we play, PD can't afford too.

  4. Does anyone who booed Dickov from the main stand when he brought Scapuzzi off now feel like a bit of a knobber?

Probably not....justified criticism if taken off over Taylor for performance only imo......they weren't booing Morais coming on - It was that Taylor was ultra gash, Parker not much better (though he improved marginally when Morais came on)

Though we did laugh as only a couple of days ago he was out pouring tea for some of these in similar conditions - Welcome to Oldham hey!

    BTW Martin Allen is still a 1st class k n o b

  5. As in all aspects of society - there's always someone else to blame unfortunately.

If there are 6100+ tickets, when they're gone, they're gone - disapponting for some who genuinely couldn't get one, but there will be some who need to look at themselves rather than having a pop at the club, where there have been individuals whom have worked bloody hard over the last week (particularly yesterday).

There'll be other memorable games in the next 20 years i'm sure......

  6. A further example of one of the nations bodies the BBC, sticking 2 fingers up to the working class mans lower league football - it has always been nothing more than a 'token gesture' anyway, sticking it on at such a crap time, with a crap presenter, a crapper guest, a crap studio etc - but at least it was recordable/semi accessible crap to those who don't have sky etc.

As has been said Hansen etc earning reported sums such as £40k per programme, yet the BBC - The BRITISH Broadcasting corp, say they don't have the budget to cover BRITISH lower league football - well stick your match of the day up your arse as well for me.

  7. No, but making people queue for hours on end in the middle of winter to buy tickets is embarrassing in 2011.

And no mention of whether or not the kid got his ticket or not....

I'm quite sure all who queued did so very freely without Simon Corney or Alan Hardy holding their arms up their backs......

Although you do make a valid point that in today's technological world, queing is not always necessary in other areas of purchasing.

  8. Serious question.

We've sold more tickets for Liverpool on a Friday night than we did for Everton on a Saturday afternoon.

With the Everton game, our average home fans attedndance was higher than it is this season.

The phrase "daytrippers" has been used a few times. My guess is that many of them are Latics fans who attend games at BP, but just not quite as often as they used to. Unless we're playing Carlisle and it costs £2 each to get in.

So what does the football club need to do to get them to attend more often?

Build a new stand? More leg room?

    Better toilets?

    Better and more reliable catering?

Make the half time draw more exciting?

Live music from local bands pre-match?

    Bar in the Chaddy End?

    Bar in the RRE?

    Cheap half-season tickets?

    More offers for kids?

    Free tickets for schools?

Kick off at 8pm on a Wednesday night instead of 7.45pm on a Tuesday night?

Play home games on Friday nights instead of Saturdays?

A more grown up version of the Blue Crew  ?

If you are an Anfield "daytripper" what would make you go to BP for 80% plus of games?

I think all of the things mentioned have their own positives and would be worth a punt - however I do feel that there is a bigger force here - the pro game is financially on it's ass and continues to decline and whatever schemes are runs by clubs, every penny they spend on such initiatives is another penny gambled in a climate where every penny counts.

  9. This does bother me tbh, it should have been 2 tickets each, full stop. You have to wonder if a few chances have took a punt on making a bob or two by buying in bulk. If they have that is :censored:ty but not surprising in the ':censored: you Jack, I'm alright', society, we live in. I hope those that have got tickets do the team and the club proud, let's go for a party and enjoy the evening.

The most balanced and understanding post of them all in my humble MARK II

  10. Not too happy, me and my daughter have been to all but two home games this season accompanied by around 3500 others. Looks like I will miss out now in an allocation of 6100. Can't really complain as I certainly wasn't going to be there at 4am to queue but why are people allowed to buy more than 2 tickets?

The most balanced and understanding post of them all in my humble.

  11. Fook me, have any of you lot ever stood on cramped terracing, pissed wet through, in the corner of some lower league slummy ground before?

You've bought a ticket to support your team in the famous anfield stadium, with all the odds stacked against us. You're sat down, under cover in possibly the best atmosphere so far this season - get gone, stop whining and bloody enjoy the evening!

  12. We only have a runaway band-waggon.

Yet another opportunity for a cheap snipe at folks who cannot/don't go for many different reasons, but will for the near future games.

I should have resisted nibbling on your rod really with that comment, but when it appears under different guises in other threads, then I thought I'd have a bite.

At the end of the day, without the 'bandwaggon' followers at Anfield or hopefully Wembley, I would think that the players, management would be pretty disappointed seeing 3'500-4'000 at Wembly!! should that occur!
