  1. Anyone who has run a high traffic independant website or forum, will probably know that funds and time are the two biggest commodities you need to have. I'd like to thank the members and staff of Oh When the Blues forums for helping out on both counts!

I'm not going to list the people who have donated to the site, I don't think it's fair - a big thankyou goes out to you guys. I'll send an email to those who have contributed funds. Thanks again!

What I will do (without too much embarassment I hope! ;)) I'd like to recognise, Beardy, wardlelatic, oafcshuck, oa_exile, Stevie_J, Optional and Markoasis for big contributions of time and effort. A big thanks to you guys too - and keep up the good work!

Finally, to the Oldham Athletic Fans Community - thanks for being here - and I hope you find this forum as interesting and fun as we do!

    Keep the Faith

  2. Yes, you're right! You have a rating of four stars!!! well done! It looks like other members can rate you by clicking on the stars pretty much the same way I explained earlier. You have a secret admirer!!

:gorgeous: or could it be :biker: ???

  3. I'm on about when you view personal profile, you have no stars, I have four. Am I better than you or am I just a deluded T**T? :D

Hey, I'm not sure! I'll have a look and get back to you..

  4. Yeah, i've just put them in. Just a trial at the moment, if it works and people like them - I'll roll it out across the forums.

You can rate each topic by clicking on how many stars you think it deserves, the ratings then report back the average star rating to indicate to users if it's an interesting topic or not.

It might catch on, it may not - lets see what happens...

    :D

  5. OASIS, Oldham Athletic Supporters In the South, was founded in 1986. Initally the objective was to find a group of exiled Latics fans and organise to meet up for Latics matches at home and away to share costs and share a few beers. In Latics' glory days of the late 80s and early 90s membership soared to around 120 with the highlight of those years, in OASIS terms being our promotion celebration dinner attended by Neil Adams. Membership has dropped since those days but there remains, just as in Oldham, a loyal hard core of support. The 2006/07 season saw a steady increase of members traveling to games, with numbers of over 20 traveling to several games during the season ending in the city of Brighton being invaded in May by OASIS members dressed in tangerine jackets and bowler hats. As from the beginning the main objectives of OASIS still remain to organise travel to and from matches, to find suitable pubs to meet in on match days and to meet up in London to put the world to rights and have a few beers. There is no formality, no committee and little ceremony. What we have is a shared obsession and a wish to share it with like minded...

  6. For Outlook, Rummy. I was assuming that the mail key would link to that. In fact, it'll link to whatever the default mail program is. I just wish hotmail worked in Mozilla Thunderbird.

Ahh, that explains it! Nice one Stevie! Walshy if youre reading this Stevie_J has nailed it for you...

Yeah, I tried thunderbird as well - it doesn't do HTTP...

  7. Seems to work on my hotmail account. Give it a try Walshy.

    Go to Outlook.

Click Tools, then Accounts, then the Mail tab.

    Click Add, then Mail.

Enter your name and click Next.

Enter your hotmail address and click Next again.

Select HTTP server and HTTP service provider as Hotmail from the drop-down menus and click Next.

Enter your password and click Next.

    Hope that works.

Is that for Outlook or Outlook Express? Express doesn't allow you attach HTTP mail from hotmail anymore

  8. It's a "time" one.

Okay, steve's right you can set up outlook to run you hotmail account, but you'll need a Hotmail Plus account - do you have one? Or is just the "vanilla" ordinary account?

If you've got an ordinary account there's nothong you can do - it will have to remain web-based.

  9. Anybody know how to change the email button on top of keyboards to open my hotmail instead of outlook? Cheers

What's your PC manufacturer? Hang on - it won't work that way walshy. Outlook is a PC based application whereas hotmail is web-based.

Have you got a browser button next to it, hotlink you browser button to open www.hotmail.co.uk when you press it.

Give me your PC manufacturer anyways and I'll see if I can help you...

    Cheers,

    Rummy.

  10. Nice one! I'm not at Northampton, wardle and Beardy are there though. I'll ask wardle to PM me your email and we'll take it from there.

Do you want your own OASIS section or are you happy with the ON THE ROAD setup as it is. I would like to accommodate you guys on here - anything you need just give us a holler.

    Cheers,

    Rummy

  11. You've hit on another of mine there, LL. People who will do anything to avoid buying the first round, in order to ensure that they don't end up buying one more than everyone else. In fact, it invariably seems to be me who ends up in that position.

    Ah nice one Stevie_J, mine's a Fosters...

    :laught16::drinking45:

  12. Any techie know why sometimes I will have (at least) opened every topic in a forum, but then on the main page, it still shows that there are still new posts to read? Refreshing it makes no difference, nor does re-opening the posts again!

Oh, and can I request that the 'Board Room' forum is hidden if possible - ie, you can only see it if you're able to read/post on it? For the same reason - I like to be able to see what I've read and what I haven't - having something that always has 'new posts' on it, that I can do nothing about, confuses me  .

Sorry, just my anal nature ;). If not possible to get rid, just ignore me....

Click on MARK ALL POSTS AS READ and see what happens. The button is between GRAPHICS N STUFF and the STATS banner near the bottom of the main page...

There are 3 forums which could always have a highlighted latics badge, the two locked ones at the top and the Board Room.

Anyway click on the button and see if that helps.

    Cheers,

    Rummy

  13. Oh, and I was very pissed off this morning - late for a meeting, got the de-icer out, did the sides and back of the car. Then ran out just in time for starting to defrost the windscreen, so had to sit with the blowers on hot for 15 minutes to melt the ice before I could leave home.

I'm sorry but this is so funny!

    :behead:
