  1. Why are people always baying for blood? I'm sure whoever posted the story was either:

    1. Not at fault as they'd been given the wrong information.

    2. At fault and has been appropriately reprimanded within OAFC.

What do you want? The club to name and shame a work experience kid and have him paraded round BP on opening day next season so we can all shout abuse at him?

why not, thats what some fans do to the young players we have.

  2. Abbott is still only in his mid-late 20s (27?) I mentioned this a few weeks back in the pub, get him fit and he can be awesome - he's had his injury problems over the last two years but get the lad fit, perhaps invite him for pre-season training and if he's up to it i'd be willing for us to offer him a deal. I reckon it wouldn't take much out of the budget AND he's got local roots having played for Preston, Bury and Hudds.

31 mate, agree though he could do a job for us.

  3. Listen sonny, I've humoured you since the JK days, who the :censored: do you think you are? OK i forgot Hazell was banned at the Mongs, but cut all the keyboard warrior :censored: out with me. You know me and I vaguely know you and you know I'm not the type of person to take insults to my intelligence too well. You might think you are the be all and end all on this board but all I see is a mouthy :censored: that has push home his point of view rightly or wrongly and your signature says it all.

no need for the language prozac, take his assessment of your post on the chins and move on.

  4. OMG....what a :censored:ing unbelievably stupid post!

First of all...Hereford...all 4 in defence were to blame that day for them goals. But it's useful to use, so you've used it. Yeovil? Fleming comes running out when he should stay back to where he should be...in goal! Can't argue with Colchester. Orient? Seriously? Just trying to pin it on him??? Lol.

Shall we compare it to Gregans list? Yeovil at home, Swindon away, blah, blah, blah...but I've saved the best to last....the one that really incenses me is...

"Nailed on he cost us a few at the Mongs"

Yeah OP...so :censored:ing nailed on, he didn't even play!!! Ooooops...as Hazell can't make the odd rare mistake, should you be allowed to? Such a massive one too

After Gregans capitulation from September to January, but for Hazell, we would've be :censored:ed this year! It was either him or Taylor for me.

PS You want to try having a read of this -----> http://www.owtb.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=20643

Only good for 3mths then a liability??? Have a word! Simply caught the bug going around the rest of the squad from middle of Feb onwards after signing...

also its worth noting hazell's played the most games out of the entire squad, not bad for a liability eh

  5. Shows how clueless some of our lot are. Since he lost his man at the Gay Farm he has cost us goals week after week.

    Hereford - At least 2

    Yeovil

    Leeds

    Colchester

Nailed on he cost us a few at the Mongs

The pen at Orient - harsh yesm clueless challenge yes

Double Act with Greegs vs Crewe

That's just off the top of my head. He was superb last season and for the first third of this season, since when he has become a real liability.

not on his own there then his he?,some people.

  6. Now I'm not normally keen on ex-players coming back after they have left. Obvious choice and not thinking outside the box but I've been reading The Mirror and found that Alex is out of contract in the summer and with Keane's rant about his father could see him out of the club.

Thought he might be a decent shout for defence should he be interested in returning.

good call, did he play under royle?

  7. i meant to put rosier, if its a decent team that gets put together and we finish higher than this year then why not?

not every manager has the same way or style of doing things, thats why they have certain players and backroom staff they can trust and rely on,thats the way it is unfortunately or fortunately.

  8. If at the end of the season the league position is rosy then the next manager has to accept what he has to work with or hes not the right man for the job!

what do you call rosey?and no manager worth his salt is going to be told to get to work with players that he may not rate, corney might aswell pick the team.

  9. joe will sign for twelve months only if there is a decent budget

he needs to bring in players because he cannot work with whats at the club ...not good enough.

obvious but he will only sign for the year

so joe gets rid of the dead wood and builds his own team then does one after a year then we get another manager in who wants to build his own team and has a three year plan then the powers that be get rid then we get another man in with his three year plan and so on,

  10. his smirk at the fans when he COULDN'T BE BOTHERED' chasing tranmere's winger and many people who have met him have less than nice things to say about him.

Not that we should be bothered about non effort from people taking home money for running on grass for an hour a week.

No, my mistake, we should wrap him in cotton wool like a baby

'Sshhh its ok Neal, dont listen to them nasty people, you're a footballer and your immune from any responsibilities and anything you do wrong or cant be bothered doing is acceptable'.

congratulations you are the tit of the week, goodnight.

  11. According to Carlisle fishul, think they'll be a few teams interested, Huddersfield for one.

But he's the tall striker we've been looking for with an eye for goal.

How did he look yesterday? Reckon he could do a job?

Always heard positive things about him. 15 league goals this season, 15 league goals last season.

always rated him, worth a punt on him

  12. Absolutely. It tells me that the manager failed to spot the key component in the success of the team from early in the season, so brought in the half-fit journeymen, rather than exploiting the raw talent he already had at the club.

When Alessandra has played, our points per game and goals per game is higher as a team. Our goals against is also better. That applied last season and this season. Go and work it out for yourself. As a strike partner for Hughes, which only happened this season, we were top of the league until Shez left him out.

He holds the ball up. We don't have another forward that does this. Do you not understnd how important it is to a midfield? How much pressure that takes off the midfield? How it gives them the time to get forwards to join the attack? Whitaker looks a better player when he links up with LA. The midfield is balanced when Alessandra plays!

I would rather have Lewis Alessandra on my team creating goals for midfielders and strike partners and not scoring, than having the likes of Ormerod, Kabba and Byfield who rarely did the same. In a handful of starts and substitute appearances I can think of assist and goal v Millwall, hat-trick v Scunthorpe and cross for the third at Crewe that stand out. But don't underestimate his contribution to Taylor's second at Leeds. He impaired the defenders vision and took him out of the game with his movement before Taylor curled one in to the top corner.

That last example may not show as a goal or an assist for Lewis Alessandra, but the lad has more football brain than 80% of the players currently on show.

Should he score more himself? Yes.

Falling over? Not ideal, but given an extended run in the side his confidence will grow and he will make a more telling contribution. Not being picked when in form cannot be good for confidence!

Saviour? Not on his own. But I suspect we would have an extra 8-10 points in the locker from games where our midfield has been outplayed, simply because he eases the pressure on them more than O'Grady and Davies (blind alley merchants), more than Windass (flick and don't move) and more than Byfield or Ormerod who were simply here to get fit. Not to mention the team scoring more and conceding less in those games he plays.

Apparently Hughes told fans his preferred strike partner is LA. If he mentioned it to Shez and Shez didn't act, then he deserves everything he got.

Your views creepy? Wrong on this one.

bang on the money there fella, and if lewis keeps falling over then it wont be long before capello calls him up
