  1. I kind of agree where your coming from Kellys Discopants. I have usually been one of the last people to turn on a manager and have even had rows in the ground during Talbots reign with fans who wanted him sacked long before he was. However, Penney is the worst manager I have seen in my time as a fan. His tactics and style of play would bore a glass eye to sleep. Fans will boo, moreso now than in the past, mainly due to the costs involved and the fact its good money being wasted to watch dross.

Booing & negative chants will not help in the short term, but by the same respect sitting there and saying nowt & just accepting what is served up would actually be worse.

People have to work hard for their money and the entry costs fans pay entitles them to voice their opinion....besides, 10 fans could go out and most probably show more commitment/effort/desire than what we see week in/week out - Gregan is the exception!

Give me 11 lads who are prepared to sweat blood and put their bodies on the line, and I would accept relegation if they got beat each week. A team of 10 Ernie Cooksey's & 1 Sean Gregan for me every day of the week....please!

You know what?, I reckon a settled squad (not full of journeymen and loanees) with those attributes and a manager with a bit of flair and a decent rapport with the fans and maybe a few of the old timers like myself might get interested again.

  2. Typical of today =

Just a matter of time before someone offers an "eat your takeaway for you".......whatever next ?... one reason why the country is in a state, too bloody lazy to do anything anymore.

Was going to type some long winded reply on why people are lazy, but can't be arsed.

  3. Boys, this is frigging class...

Always love reading that t'udders fanzine... glad we now have something to rival it....

May we be seeing the return of a certain series of cartoons? I certainly hope so....

Yes, very good. Plenty of material to work with at present. Looking forward to it.

  4. I reckon that if the players are reading this we should give them some praise & inspiration to get their confidence back & get them playing like Brazil:

Keigan Parker: Your an absoulute sensation. You always put in 110% and are the most unselfish player I've ever witnessed playing football.Sean Greagan: Your ability to shoot from your own half & your skill on the ballmakes you one of the leagues most exciting young prospects.

Dean Smalley: Personally one of my favourite players, Gattuso like. Always gets stuck in, rarely looses the ball and totally dedication in when going in for the challenge.

Dean Furman: What can I say, keep playing the way you are and I think you are a candidate for player of the tournament at the World Cup.

Please feel free to add your praise for any other players...

Thanks for that, it's nice that you haven't mentioned his height, I actually think he is taller than he looks.

    Best Wishes

On a side note, if you're thinking about going to see Up In The Air, don't. Two hours of my life I'll never get back...absolutely awful.

Just like every other week at Latics then.

  6. thanks for the report,id rather go off people who actually went rather than those that didnt and just post we are bad just because we got beat 2-1...

half those praying for a new manager or team probably didnt get much further than the fridge for a beer today!!!

Total respect to those who went, but to be honest on current form I don't think I'd have bothered if they'd been playing in my back garden.

  7. .....End of training session: I was expecting to see a 15-20 minute warm down...... nets picked up/ balls bagged away and cones collected end of training session, I can now see why there are so many muscle strains, but even so the players should be doing this themselves and not just when prompted to by Penney, by the time they have got back to the dressing room their muscles would have tightened up :disappointed:

Said this on a couple of other threads that concern the teams training; but that in bold really doesn't surprise me in the slightest.

I’ve seen nothing this season in terms of the pre-match, half time & post game squad work to suggest that there is a properly thought out & implemented training regime in place here at present in terms of muscle stretching and warm-up’s / warm downs.

The most worrying thing for me is the lack of warm-downs that are happening; our sub’s just shoot straight up the steps and into the changing rooms or more worryingly; stick a top on and sit on the bench.

So, no warm-down after training doesn’t remotely surprise me………….now this just might be a coincidence* but just how many injuries have we had so far; I do forget?

Very poor all this in my opinion this season.

*by the way, it’s not a coincidence!!!!!

Where's rudemedic when you need him?
